We shopped the area for our new home and the real estate agent took us here to discuss and weed through places we were considering. We returned . The cooking is great -sort of home style comfort food vibe. I always have the burger. Fries are great too. The menu is extensive, the place is clean and not too crowded although it is not a huge restaurant. We love the name and it perfectly matches what is waiting when you open the door and step in!

Beef chimichunga. Delicious, had a nice savory meat chili topping.

We were detoured from the 20E due to an accident and drove through Willis Point. What a great find! The chimichunga was full of flavor and a nice surprise was the meat chili on top. My husband had the daily special Catfish and shrimp meal which included 2 sides fries and beans and his choice of desert and of course he chose the pecan pie. He said it was all delicious, great flavor.

Nana & Papas Bluebird Cafe was a welcome stop on my trip to Wills Point. This authentic little country cafe really delivers! I ordered the Saturday Special which was a Hamburger Steak, smothered in Mushroom Gravy with Texas Toast and 2 Sides, which in my case I chose Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. It tasted like what you'd expect at your grandma's house after Sunday Church. The service was friendly and hospitable and made us feel welcome and appreciated!

Quaint little place in small town Wills Point. Passing through and not knowing this town we counted on our Yelp App and the reviews took care of us. Pulled up to this Mom and Pop Cafe and we were greeted by a friendly staff. We seated ourselves and you have to order at the counter. All choices were on the chalkboards and the options were plenty and ranged from Burgers to Chicken Fried Steak to Salads to Sandwiches to Nachos to Breakfast and all points in between. I decided on the Fried Catfish and my husband on a Cheeseburger. The food was great and a surprise for me was for .50 cents you can select a dessert. Now these deserts are not small. They are slabs of various kinds of cake and Banana Pudding. My husband and I live in a big city so spending time in this little out of the way place among regular country folk was a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of Fort Worth. Would we go back? Absolutely!!

The view from inside is beautiful even with the train. So pretty.

Love this little hole in the wall small town gem. They have many menu options here and it isn't expensive, very responsible with prices. It's homemade food and the dessert...OMG don't get me started. Freshly made sinful goodness. On Saturday's they offer free desserts with your meal. First come first served!! Stop by this place and try it, you won't be disappointed. Great place!!

Excellent small town cafe with a huge selection of food. Friendly down to earth folks who make you feel welcome. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra all of which were delicious. My wife had the stuffed avocado with chicken fajita meat. She said it was spot on with layers of flavor and cooked to perfection. They checked on us several times to make sure everything was right. We will definitely be back!

Though The Foundry is ultimately connected to Bethel as their nonprofit, and many Bethel members spend time there, it misses the mark of being what feels like a "Christian coffee shop". Instead feels like a coffee shop that is driven by God, which is a very important difference to make. The Foundry is welcoming to all and is a place of peace for all. Their space is quite large, with plenty of tables of all sizes in the back, bar seating, and more. There is an outside coffee garden space that is peaceful if you happen to be around during the three weeks where Texas weather is bearable. There are also a few tables in front of the shop. There's a room that always displays local artists' work. The Foundry roasts all their own beans under Porch Culture. The team behind Porch Culture seems to have a genuine care and passion for coffee roasting, which they obviously benefits from. Certain days in the shop, you can see them roasting and experimenting in the back. I, of course, had to leave with a bag of beans to take back to Austin with me. Recently, upon my trip back home, I had a vanilla latte of theirs, which was great, plus a cinnamon roll, which was delectable. They can get pretty busy on a Sunday before a Bethel service starts, but their team usually seems on top of it most times I visit and are all very friendly and talkative. I missed The Foundry. From my time in high school when I'd go to study, or through college breaks where I used it to get out of the house and work on side projects, it was a great place to hide out, and it still is as good as I remember. I had the carbonara, and honestly, it was almost too pretty to eat. The service was a little slow, but it actually gave us time to soak in the atmosphere and admire how beautiful the restaurant is inside. The vibe? Absolutely check. The cocktails were not our favorite, but that definitely won't stop us from coming back to try other drinks on the menu. What makes this place even more special is that it's a true mom-and-pop restaurant sourcing food locally. You really can't beat that. Supporting local while getting an amazing meal is always a win.

Pink and honest in the middle, warm and willing, bread holding it all together like a good road holding a long drive. Nothing flashy, nothing trying too hard just flavor that knew where it came from and didn't apologize. The arugula salad came sharp and clean, green with intent, that bitter edge that wakes you up a little and reminds you you're still alive. It wasn't there to impress you. It was there to balance things out, like a deep breath between sentences. I drank Earl Grey tea, steam rising slow, bergamot drifting up like memory, like train smoke somewhere far off. It felt right. The kind of tea you drink when you're not rushing anywhere, when the world can spin without you for a moment and that's okay. Fern in the Wild isn't trying to reinvent eating. It's doing something better. It's paying attention. To ingredients. To pace. To the quiet pleasure of a meal done right.
