Terrible office staff. If they do call to remind you of your appointment, call back and make sure the date/time they were telling you is the correct date/time-- I've had messages left on my voicemail with incorrect information. Also, call ahead and verify that your insurance is still accepted. I drove thirty minutes to the office this morning only to be told (by the same lady who I spoke to on the phone the other day) that they no longer accept my insurance, even though I updated my insurance with them three days ago! Incompetence runs deep in this office. Also-- be prepared to be sold her line of skin care products that are INSANELY expensive and you have to pay for in cash.. totally ridiculous. read more

Dr Aria has a lovely manner and is kind and patient. She is a fine dermatologist. The office is really hung up over every cent and wants everything up front--no billing. That is not how my insurance works. After much angst on their side (every one who went to the window had some issue of not knowing they didn't take credit cards--but then, "Oops we do on this special occasion..."), they were able to process the bill as all my doctors linked to this insurance company do. The front office is the first and last point of entry for a patient--it would behoove the practice to soften the "all about the buck, all about it now" greeting. read more

I had my dermatology annual body scan with Dr. Aria. I had changed doctors since I was not pleased with the service and Dr. Aria was highly recommended. By far, her examination was the most thorough I have ever had. She checked me from the top of my head to my toes. Items that other doctors had skipped over, she had removed, She took a sample for a biopsy on a small growth behind my knee that had bothered me for years. Other Dermatologists had just said, "nothing to worry about." By far she is the most professional and thorough Dermatologist that I have ever visited. She also answered all my questions thoroughly. If I could give the front staff 0 stars, I would! I had an appointment with Dr. Aria a few months ago. The wait in the waiting room and patient room was longer than I anticipated. The actual visit with the doctor short. I didn't really have any complaints - the doctor seemed nice enough. Then today I called and asked to have a message relayed to the doctor - I was told that I would need to make an appointment... really? It wasn't something THAT serious - my previous doctor (we moved to VA last year) would have at least entertained my request... When I told the front staff woman that my copay is $35 and that my request was simple, she again said that I would need to make an appointment. I told her that I wasn't going to be a patient any longer and her response was, "no problem" then she hung up the phone. I am glad I found out that they don't care about their patients early on - time to find a different dermatologist! read more

Front staff maintained the RUDEST, most condescending demeanor in addressing their patients. If I am the patient, why are you acting as though you are doing ME a favor? Without patients like me, you wouldn't be able to make a decent living. I had an appointment and didn't get to see Dr. Aria until after AN HOUR OF WAITING. That is absolutely appalling and unacceptable! If patients are expected to show up on time to the appointment, the doctor should be able to see them within a reasonable amount of time. Especially considering the amount of pain I was in with my skin condition, it was of utmost significance that I got to see the doctor immediately. (I understand that prior appointments may "overrun" their time, and thus some amount of waiting is necessary.) However, OVER AN HOUR of waiting is just unwarranted. The receptionist had the nerve to give me an attitude when I repeatedly came up to the desk to ask, "How much longer until I get to see Dr. Aria?" (FYI, I had to ask 3 times! The best thing for her to have done is to tell me what # I am in line, and a decent estimate as to when I am up next.) What a shame this is, since it is SUCH an easy problem to solve. Fire the entire front staff! Hire new, competent employees who have more cordial and customer-friendly skills. And bam! It will be a great practice! The doctor herself is actually quite pleasant. She just needs to WAKE UP and realize she is losing potential customers due to her inept and coldhearted staff. read more

Dr.'s visit was fine. Payment was a problem. They require cash or check. They also did not provide a recipe which stated the services provided so it was rejected my FSA. When I called and request a proper receipt, I was told their would be an additional charge to have it mailed to me. I've never had a business charge me before to get a receipt. read more

I will never go back to Dr. Aria. I am being treated with Molluscum on my Pelvic region and she acted like she could care less. I was not put in a robe for her to even look at the area in question. I first asked if I had what I was diagnosed with (from a previous doctor) and she just had me stand up and pull down my pants a little bit. After looking at about a 2 inch area vs the full area she just goes "yea". Molluscum is something that needs to have each bump treated and I had to BEG her to treat a few of the new bumps. Originally she just goes "use this cream". I literally had to beg her to treat the spots that were new. And for her to do this I again had to just drop my pants and hop on a table. It felt like a doctors visit to Bizzaro land. To be told to drop my pants and use a cream while refusing to treat the spots is not something I want to deal with EVER AGAIN! read more

Terrible practice. While Dr. Aria is nice in person, the appointment and billing staff are rude. They keep no computerized records on appointments, just a handwritten logbook, and billing errors are blamed on the patient. Disorganized and not worth it. Steer clear. read more

I have never had an issue coming to her practice with my insurance... until... catching up on bills I have a balance from her office. When I called to find out why, they said they no longer take my insurance so now I am left to pay the full balance. They have had my insurance on file and should have told me prior to my appointment that they were no longer taking it. Extremely disappointed. I agree that everyone needs to get paid, and if doctors and insurance companies have issues, the patient should be notified! The reason I pay for insurance is to cover my health! read more

Unlike other doctors, Dr. Nancy Aria and her asst actually sits down and gives her patients her undivided attention. She very dedicated and genuine. Excellent dermatologist! I have been coming to Dr. Nancy Aria for years and I have never had a reason to see another doctor. She has wonderful bedside manners and takes the time to listen to my concerns. She has great assistants that are very helpful and take good care of their patients. I have seen Dr. Aria for various dermatological problems and I go every year for a skin cancer screening. Every time I go for an appointment, I leave happy. The staff is so accommodating, both on the phone and in person. The office is extremely efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Nancy Aria! read more

After reading the reviews about Dr. Aria, I decided to make an appointment to have by face checked. I started to break out lately due to hormones and wanted to get a dermatologist's perspective and advice on what to do. I was pleased she spent time with me to discuss the issues I was having but I was very disappointed with her recommendations. She recommended to NOT use sunscreen on my face at all, which was surprising as we know a lot more about UV now and everyone would suggest to wear SPF everyday, helps prevent wrinkles and sun marks on the face. I asked her if she thought it was still applicable knowing I have very fair and sensitive skin. That was the first thing I was not too happy about and made me questioned her advice. Then to treat my breaking out problem, which she diagnosed as hormonal, she told me to buy her own brand face wash that is only sold at her office. I used it two days and a week later my skin still very angry, really red, looks as if I burned my face, itches a lot, and I am peeling non-stop, very unpleasant. After having the side effects mentioned above, I asked another medical doctor about the face wash who informed that the the face wash has ingredients that are meant to dry your skin as well as BLEACH it, which can results in permanent spots on your face when exposed to sun, something she did not mentioned and made me worry as she had recommended to NOT use sunscreen. I am glad I checked and stopped using the face wash after two days due to the irritation it caused. The second thing I was concerned about is that she recommended the same face wash to the previous patient, a man in his mid-late 30s, and surprised me she would recommend the same face wash to myself, a woman in her late 20s with sensitive skin. Despite taking the time to talk with me about my skin she still recommended a course of action that seemed opposite to what I needed and has turned into a bigger headache than before. I recommend if you choose to see her to be sure you know and understand what she is recommending or prescribing before you use it. I would be cautious about her face wash which seems to be her go-to solution for everything, it is very harsh. I also recommend checking the prescriptions she gives you are covered by insurance, the one she prescribed me was not covered and it was $800, I am glad I talked with my insurance before I decided to fill the prescription. read more

I felt well taken care of. Thought the bill was reasonable for what I had done. Plan to go back every year for a check up. I saw Dr. Aria for a routine examination. I got an appointment within an acceptable time frame for my non-urgent care. I arrived early the appointment as I wanted to make sure I could find the office, and was seen within 5 minutes. Dr. Aria was professional, took her time giving me a thorough exam, answered my questions, and gave me a couple of suggestions. Her staff was courteous and helpful. I am doctor phobic, but Dr. Aria and her team made me as comfortable as possible. While I obviously can't address the medical side as I am not a doctor, this is as good as it gets from the patient relations side. read more

I have been to many dermatologists over the years and this doctor was the worst. She acts as though she's afraid to touch you, so her rather weird acting assistant does all of the hands on work. I saw Dr. Nancy Aria for the first time yesterday for common skin complexion advice and removal of skin tags. My experience was very positive. I did have to wait about half hour, but it was tolerable. Her and her assistant spent an adequate amount of time asking the right questions. Some of the negative reviews below are really strange. They don't have any offensive signs. The staff is nice and handled communication well. Dr. Aria is young and friendly. I have no experience with Dr. Jason Aria, but she was very nice. Yes, the office building is old and in a slightly shady part of town, but once inside, all is good. You really just need to make sure you have your insurance ducks in a row. Its only fair that they get paid appropriately for their service. Perhaps many folks without insurance were not very honest with them, so they have to cover their backs. However, they were not rude at all about verifying my coverage at the front desk. The Dr never discussed insurance. I would trust this practice to see my kids as well. Request appointments on less busy days and you should be set. I am rating 4 stars only because of the office building/location and the half hour wait, but otherwise, all was great. read more

i am a new patient and my first experience was great! The front office staff was very friendly and efficient. They all had gorgeous skin which is a plus for a dermatologist office. The wait time was not long, even though I had to complete new patient paperwork. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. Once in the back, the nurse spoke with me briefly about my condition before Dr. Aria came in. Dr. Aria was nice and sha actually listen to what you as a patient has to say. Dr. Aria was very through and took time to talk about the things that could be triggers of my adult acne condition. She also gave me a detailed plan of action that we would take over the next two months to clear my skin. The only negative is the prescriptions prescribed had co-pays over $400 even with my Cgna insurance. However there were coupons in the goodie bag the doctor gave with coupons that drastically reduced the cost of the medicines ($25 $ $35). I plan to make an appointment for my son, and yes I would refer Dr. Aria to friends & family. read more
