I went here for Dysport injections with Kathy (Cathy?). It was during their happy hour so I got 20% off. It was my second time getting them, the first was not here, so be warned that I don't have a lot of basis for comparison. The first round I got left me with this weird thing where about 1-1.5mos after, if I rubbed my forehead, it would wrinkle up like I was starting to cry. They also wore off after about 2.5 months, which was close to the 2 months they mentioned, but kind of disappointing considering the cost. With those previous negatives in mind, the facility was nice and peaceful, they have a cute waiting area with magazines where you can hang out after and wait for the swelling to go down. Cathy was really nice and didn't point out other flaws on my face or suggest tons of other procedures she thought I needed. This was in June so I don't know how long they'll last, but so far so good. I have natural movement but don't have creases on my forehead with makeup settled in them, which is what was annoying me. Overall, I liked it and will be back! read more

Every product I have tried I have loved from the tinted sunscreen to moisturizers. I have had both Botox and fillers over the years and the pricing is great and I am never overdone. Always natural. The business is in a really nice and easily accessible location and immediately the waiting room was really clean and comfortable. I barely had to wait before Barbara called me back, which I really appreciated. Today was my first appointment at Radiance with Barbara for Juvederm. She is a true professional and did a wonderful job. I rate this at 3 stars simply based on price. I was in for the 20% off day and it still cost $540/syringe. I was more than shocked. This is not my first time for fillers and believe them to be overly high. The service is great, however I have had the same quality for a lot less elsewhere. Tried to save a little money on a discount day only to spend the more on 1 syringe than anywhere before. Elsie hit it spot on when she wrote "shady." I tried out this spa two weeks ago. I was very clear about my desires to get their *free* Visia Analysis and the first in a series of chemical peels for my upcoming wedding. There was absolutely no uncertainty about my desired services. A friend of mine did this for her big day, and I was hopeful to do the same for mine. During my appointment, I was told by the aesthetician that I was getting a basic facial/very light peel. I asked about the analysis and chemical peel, explaining that I was hoping for both to prepare for my wedding. I was told I should start with a basic facial because I have 'nice skin.' Understanding that I am not a professional in this field, I trusted this guidance and moved forward with the appointment. At checkout with the receptionist, however, I was told my service was $150, which was immediately followed by, "I'm sorry we weren't able to fit you in for the analysis today. Since we squeezed you into a spot it just wasn't feasible. If you'd like, I can schedule you for the analysis and chemical peel another time?" This is just too bad. First, when I received the call from their receptionist to accept an earlier appointment date, it was not explained to me that I was foregoing ANY services for the earlier date. Second, why would I come and spend another $185 to get the service that I ORIGINALLY requested?! And why did it feel as though everyone but me was 'in' on the details of my appointment and the need to deal with me quickly? I contacted the manager and she returned my call. However, when we began talking about the subject, I felt as though I was arguing my side of the situation. Folks - this is NEVER a good sign. She kept saying things like, "well I wasn't there so I don't know," and "I don't mean to be trite, but I'm confused about why you're upset." I wanted to like this place. I really did. But when you are dealing with a company that is handling appointments like cattle, and management is more focused on who said what in a situation than finding a resolution, you are wasting your time. Hands down, the best place for Botox and fillers! And believe me, I've tried them all! I've been going to Radiance for over two years now, after trying several other places around the DMV. They truly know what they are doing. I have seen both Cathy and Barbara and they never disappoint. Their Botox lasts longer than most and their technique with fillers looks very natural. Awesome, kind and caring professionals. Went in to get Microdermabrasion and botox on a super rainy -hurricany day last Thursday. I was immediately offered water, and given a few documents to sign. Shortly after i was laying on a comfy bed with soft music and candles. The doctor was so sweet and told me every step of the process as she went along. My skin is glowing now and the botox in my brows came out just right. When checking out the front desk lady gave me a calendar of their specials and very kindly told me how to take care of my skin for the next 24 hrs. Will be back soon to see what other goodies I can get! The only issue is parking, however the metro is right across the street. Ooooo, I don't want to give away my beauty secrets - do I have to spill everything that I had done here? Suffice it to say that it's a "medspa" - so they definitely offer more than your basic salon facial. They are friendly and so professional. I had two different aestheticians and both were delightful. They took the time to go over the procedures and what to expect after wards. They made recommendations for products, but were not pushy. It ain't cheap folks, but I think that they are on par for similar services elsewhere. If you're looking to step up your skin care regimen, this is a great place to go. (Plus, it's in Old Town. I went to Radiance Medspa when they were located on King Street. After a consultation, I bought a series of IPL treatments for my décolletage area to treat some sun damage. The technician asked me questions about my skin as you'd expect. Being half Irish I explained that I burned pretty easily. After the first session, I had a series of burns that scabbed that were precisely the size of the laser head. (Imagine a number of rectangular scabs all across your chest in a grid pattern). I had been told there might be some scabbing but I was concerned how she would even this out so that my chest was evenly lightened. Apparently, the burns were more than they should have been because the technician would not do any more sessions at that laser level. As you might have guessed that meant the rest of the sessions did not lighten/even me out. So in the end, I was stuck with a ridiculous looking chest area. The moral of the story, stick with a doctor or find an aesthetician who knows what they are doing. I wasted a ton of money and ended up the worse for it. read more

I have been taking care of my skin through various spas, dermatologists', and plastic surgeons' offices for many years now. I have never had plastic surgery, just laser treatments, peels, thermage, fraxel and the like. That being said, these treatments are not inexpensive for quality care. If you are paying a cheap price for these services then, that should be your first indication that something is wrong. Radiance has monthly specials which I try to take advantage of, if it happens to come at the right time, but I will not go elsewhere to save money. They know what they are doing at this spa, and I am here to stay! Everyone is friendly and professional here. Mary, at the front dest, always greets me warmly, by name, offers me something to drink, and makes certain that I am comfortable. The reception area is beautifully decorated and relaxing, but I never wait more than a few minutes. Once I am with my clinician, Barbara Toliver, PA-C, I never feel as if she is in a hurry to move on to the next patient. They always schedule plenty of time for me. I have seen both clinicians and they are both equally wonderful, but because of my schedule, they started putting me with Barbara. She truly knows what she is doing. I started having a small amount of filler in my lips a couple of years ago and she is a gifted artist! My lips do not look huge and blown up but very pretty and the perfect size for my thin face, like little bow ties! I love them! She does all of my skin treatments, mentioned above, and I have total confidence in her! I am very pleased with my multiple visits to Radiance Medspa. I've been going to Radiance off-and-on for the past 3 years. I don't have a need for any of the more serious procedures they offer (Botox, fillers, etc.) but I splurge on facials about every three months. For a while, my go-to was the Silkpeel Combination Facial (basically a facial with silkpeel microdermabrasion, which beats regular microderm because it's infused with active ingredients, like salicylic). Lately I've been going for the Illuminize Peel, which is a lighter peel that just gives you a nice glow. I have acne-prone skin, and I can honestly say my skin is in much better condition than it was a couple of years ago, partially due to the facials, and my at-home treatments. Although some of the spa services (and retail products) are rather pricey, I've gotten a better vibe from the staff at this place than at other spas I've tried. They're helpful and unpretentious. I can personally recommend aestheticians Lawrence and Gosha, who are amazing to work with - I usually try to schedule with one of them. read more

Lawrence, at this salon, gives the best facial that I have ever had. It is 1 1/2 hours, includes many phases including a serious neck, shoulder and upper back massage. i bought a package of vitalize peels (3). ive used 1 so far. the customer service is very good. i mean, ive pretty much gone/done every facial/dermatology procedure out there so i can tell you that you're not going to get that kind of pampering in a dr's office. its a very clean facility and the staff is nice. with that said, its pretty pricey. a cosmetic surgeon will charge about 140-150 for the peel i got. RM charges 175. so, you're definitely paying for the pampering. its a convenient location if you live/work in old town. but there's no parking (unless you find street parking). they have evening hours but they fill up fast. otherwise, you shouldnt have a problem booking an appointment. read more

Their peels are so buttery and soft and the aesthetician was so kind. It was like a ballet on my face. I've used Jane Iredale for years, so I was happy to find a convenient place to go to test and buy some eyeshadow. Mary helped me, and she was great! She gave me good advice without making me feel inadequate, and she helped me pick out two new shadows that could be used alone, together, or to complement the color I already had at home. And when I had some bruising, her partner took the time to show me how to apply makeup to conceal it, and gave me free samples of everything I needed. Yesterday changed my life. I'd been upset about the look of my face for a long time. I was also feeling that I didn't deserve to pay to look better. I had already called another MedSpa and had the appointment for a week. The owner called an hour before and cancelled my appointment saying her shipment hadn't arrived! I went onto the Juvederm website and found Radiance Medspa. Boy was I lucky. After reading reviews on the place I was going, someone was looking out for me! I told Radiance what happened and they booked an appointment for me that day. I had Juvederm injections as well as a small injection of Botox on the forehead. All I can say is, don't wait, don't worry about the price, just do it! I feel fantastic! I look fantastic! My friends can't believe it, they say I look 20 years younger. I do look 20 years younger. I received a Radiesse treatment a few years ago at Radiance DC and was very pleased. It lasted way longer than I anticipated. After reading such great reviews and seeing Radiance Old Town was having a special I thought I would give them a try. I received my second Radiesse treatment and was thoroughly disappointed. I see no improvement in my face... the left side of my face actually looks worse. During my first treatment in DC the person took their time and made many precise injections. My face swelled but once it went down it looked amazing. In Old Town the person squirted my money into my cheek very quickly without much thought into where I needed it most. I had very little swelling. I waited for the product to start working but it never did. I feel like I completely wasted my hard earned money. I was not told to come back for a follow up and then was distracted by a medical emergency but wrote to Radiesse to express my displeasure. They refered me back to Radiance Old Town. They called and I went back only to be told I can have a discount on another filler. I had to save for a year to get the initial treatment and I could not put more money (that I didnt have) into another procedure when in my opinion it wasnt done correctly the first time. The blame was put on me and my face... "I have a dimple". I gave two stars because I like the atmosphere of the office. The people seem nice enough but I am so disappointed with the lack of results. I planned the procedure before a wedding and my class reunion. We all want to look our best for those types of events but I do not look my best. I'm embarrassed and even more aware of my flaws than before the procedure. I avoid my reflection. I cant stand the way I look so I am saving for enough money to try again. I really wish the owner wouldve offered to try again for free because it was so evident that the procedure was a flop. I'm sure it would not have broken her to do so. read more
