Fabulous facility. The staff is exceptional, the environment is clean and relaxing. In my humble opinion this is the "breast" place to come for mammograms, sonograms and all your breast health needs.

Spa waiting area. Soft relaxing music playing.

I've had to get an ultrasound along with my mammogram a few years on a row and it's all done there.

I can't speak for anything except the labor and delivery departments at Salinas Valley Memorial…read moreHospital. I LOVED sooo much about how I was treated in my most vulnerable moment (labor) that I HAD to write a review!!! I had my third baby girl at SVMH. My two other daughters were born elsewhere. My husband and I arrived at the hospital around 3 in the morning, and I didn't know it at the time, but I was 8cm dilated (I had already lost my mucus plug). I was in excruciating pain and could barely walk in, but I tried to maintain an appearance of calm. A BEAUTIFUL nurse named Jessica (I wish I knew her last name) saw to me first. She was like my saving grace and an answer to prayer that God would provide me with an excellent and caring team. While she was examining me before I was led to a delivery room, she could tell I was hurting. She gave me hip squeezes and showed my husband how to do them. I cannot tell you the relief those squeezes brought me in those moments. She showed compassion in her words, facial expressions, and actions throughout my labor and delivery (and get this, she stayed AFTER her shift to coach me through pushes, which aided IMMENSELY in making my labor the fastest I've ever had!!! She was not the only nurse who showed me great care. There was also Rayanne, Cheryl, Blanca, Jackie, and another Jackie, whom I later found out is Jacqueline Espinoza. They were sooo sweet and professional the whole time I was in labor. I had difficulty and needed two epidurals. These superhero nurses gave me massage oils, made sure I had everything I needed, encouraged me, and coached me through the pain. They made sure my husband and my dear friend (who is like a mother to me) had everything they needed. And 3 of these nurses stayed AFTER their shift until my baby was born. They held up my legs, and Jessica gave mental images to help me visualize as I pushed by sharing her own story of imagining herself pushing out the pain as she exhaled when she was delivering her baby. Also, I have to say that the way Jessica placed the birthing peanut between my legs, as before I began crowning, really seemed to help my baby girl come quickly through my pelvis. Jessica shook my husband's hand and congratulated us. I was in labor with my other daughters for 15+ hours. With my third girl, I was in labor for 4 hours!!! I have SOOOO much gratitude for the way these nurses helped coach me. For the ways they moved me around to help position me in the right place for birth. For the ways they called sprang into action when I moaned that my baby was coming. For the warm blankets they offered when I was cold. For the way they called for the anesthesiologist a second time when I said I was still in a lot of pain. Kudos to these nurses and to Dr. Katherine Ruth for being so calm as I was delivering. I can't thank you all enough for a wonderful experience and for putting my mind at ease during one of the most painful and vulnerable moments in my life. 5-star nurses!!!!

I have been coming to this hospital since the day I was born and have always trusted the care…read moreprovided here. Tonight, I brought my mother in due to elevated blood pressure she had an EKG performed. After the test, the nurse told my mother--without first consulting with the EKG technician--that she could walk to the ER on her own. To do so, my mother was required to leave the room, walk down four - five steps, and then climb an additional five to six steep steps, without any assistance from staff. The nurse simply pointed in the direction of the ER, offering no help or concern for her condition. Like she worked at Home Depot! I stopped my mother from continuing and asked where patient care was in that moment. Despite being told I could not accompany her, I assisted my mother up the stairs myself because I did not feel it was safe for her to do so alone. Our family lost a loved one just last night to a heart attack, which made this experience especially distressing and unacceptable. This situation left me feeling angry, concerned, and deeply disappointed in the level of care and compassion shown. If it wasn't for the triage nurse I would defently have given it a 1 or 0 if I could have!

To begin with, we did not choose for my wife to go to Natividad Hospital. In fact, my wife begged…read morethe firemen to take her to Memorial Hospital and not Natividad. We didn't know much about Natividad Hospital, but what we had heard about was not good. She has Medicare, and because she has had some health issues over the years, we purchased the best Medicare Supplement available and can go to any hospital we want. But because we live closer to Natividad, the firemen told us that they had to take her to Natividad. At the time, we didn't know how serious her injury from her fall was, but she was definitely in a lot of pain and knew she needed to go to a hospital. I went to the ER to see her that night. They were still taking X-rays, etc. to determine what was wrong. When I left after about an hour and a half, I still didn't know what her injury was. I went back in the morning and was informed that she had broken her hip, and they would be having surgery that afternoon. When I left the hospital, I didn't know what was going to be done. My wife has had four back surgeries over the years all performed by Dr. Gus Halamandaris. We didn't pick his name out of a hat to have him do the initial surgery on her back. It was based on recommendations we had received on him and after meeting with him to discuss the surgery he was going to perform on her. This was not the case at Natividad. And because this was an emergency, there was not time for us to go shopping for a surgeon, and we understand that. Had it been a surgery because of a degenerative nature, and had time, we certainly would have and had the surgery performed and chosen a different hospital to have it done. I didn't even know the name of the surgeon who would be performing the surgery on my wife, much less what was going to be done. She was scheduled to go into surgery at 2 pm. I called at 5:30 and was told that her surgery had been delayed and that she had just gone into to surgery. I called again at 8:30 to see if she was out of surgery and was told that she was still in surgery and I was assured that I would get a call when she was out of surgery. I never got that call. I finally called again at 9:30 and was told she was out of surgery and would be transferred to a room. After each of the four surgeries Dr. Halmandaris performed on my wife, he would come and see me if I was at the hospital or call me at home to let me know how the surgery went. When I left the hospital the following day, I still didn't even know her surgeons' name or exactly what had been done. It wasn't until two days later that we were told by a nurse that she had a partial hip replacement. After a short stay in the hospital, my wife was transferred to the Sam Karas Acute Rehab Center, which is on the same site as the hospital. But that is a separate story. After she was released from the Rehab Center, we had to return to the hospital to meet with her surgeon for a follow up. We were told to be there by 9:15, which we were. We didn't meet with her surgeon until almost 3 hours later. After he went over her operation, he said he wanted us to return in about a month for another checkup. I told him that we wouldn't be returning and that we would go to another orthopedic surgeon who has in private practice for any future follow ups. There is no way we were going to spend 3 hours waiting to see a doctor we had an appointment with; plus the distance we had to traverse from the parking lot to where we had to go to me with him. He told us that we didn't have to do that and we could just go to our family doctor for any follow ups. As far as her stay in the hospital, we were relatively satisfied with it other than the food is absolutely horrible. Fortunately, she didn't have much of an appetite. I have been a strong proponent of universal healthcare because I believe it should be a right to have access to have medical care. However, if this an example of what universal healthcare looks like, I may have to reevaluate that opinion. It should be better than this.

Soon after our arrival in town my boyfriend was having excruciating jaw pain. It must've been bad for him to want to see a doctor so I Yelped an urgent care. This place was open, close by and most important had good reviews. It was closing in 30 minutes tho, but if we didn't go, bf would be miserable all weekend to see these races. We walked in, place was empty lucky for us, no appointment. Couple of waivers filled out, insurance given and Doctor took us in. Dr. Gilliam is by far the kind of doctor I wish I had as my PCP. He's funny, caring, gentle and educational. After asking my bf some questions and a little exam, it was concluded he had a little infection that needed antibiotics. Dr. Gilliam took care of ALL of it, sent the scripts to Safeway right next door (we needed to get snacks anyway) filled out the claim and sent it to insurance. I mentioned I was a medical coder. He does all of his own coding using software. But if Dr. Gilliam ever wants to hire a certified outpatient coder/biller with Urgent Care experience, we could always use an excuse to relocate to Monterey (hint hint) We were treated like humans, even laughed a little bit at some funny stories. Warm, kind Doctor. I hope we'd never have to be patients again but if we're in Monterey and need an Urgent Care, we're going here. He's the way all Doctors should be.
