Not sure why I keep trying here. We have had no luck coming in to dine and we have even less luck ordering take out. Called and ordered $66. worth of food, that's 4 things! Sent my daughter to get it, brought it home and gave me the wrong thing. I Asked for gluten free fried rice and I got gluten free fried noodles. We got take out on Christmas Eve and for the prices of their appetizer/entrees we should be more impressed. The chicken wings had very little flavor, and were dry. The chicken teriyaki was dry dry dry-inedible. The boneless spareribs were so hard we couldn't even stab them with a fork. I enjoy this restaurant as a slightly healthier option for some tasty Asian cuisine. However, last night I ordered a vegetarian dish (Cashew vegetables) and was incredibly disappointed when I got home. The sauce was good, but the only vegetables in the dish were onions, celery, and baby corn. Not only was this very beige (not a good look for a vegetarian dish), but I felt like they were saving money by using mostly aromatics. I would expect at least carrots, snow peas, or maybe a pepper or broccoli. I won't be going back for awhile. :( read more

We finally tried nancy Changs after many times of reading the reviews and debating if it was worth it. Some reviews were great and some not so great but we decided to try it for ourselves. I was in Rehab down the street so we had to do takeout. I had the wonton soup which I expected it to be mushy but it wasn't. The wontons were numerous and great. We also had chicken fingers, pork fried rice, and General Tse's chicken. The pork fried rice was very fresh and good and the other food was great as well. I've been told by multiple people in Worcester that Nancy Chang is their favorite Chinese restaurant in the area and that the Mai Tais are especially good. Well, the Mai Tais are certainly strong, but that's the best thing about this place. The preparation of the food is a bit better and the food might be fresher than a typical Chinese takeout. But somehow, the food is even less flavorful and its significantly more expensive. You can't even fix it with chili oil, since their "chili oil" is so weak that its also basically flavorless. Strange Flavor chicken is indistinguishable from chicken stir fried with soy sauce. You also have to pay extra for rice. If you happen to have chili oil at home (I highly recommend this practice), you can pretty easily fix the leftovers so at least there's that. The kitchen could probably put out much better food, but it seems that Nancy Chang's does just fine catering to the needs of a less adventurous clientele. Which I guess is fine, but if you've had Chinese food in Boston or New York, you probably won't like this. read more

We went to Nancy Chang's for a nice dinner out. I can't say that's what we got. Having never been for a sit down dinner there before, we were expecting a nice atmosphere with some semi-decent food. We were sat at a table right next to the buffet (which was not open at the time). My seat was caved in, definitely broken, and the table was a bit sticky. The lighting was very low and not in a way that added to ambiance. Our waitress was the only saving grace of this place. She was very nice and attentive. We ordered our food and it came out 5 minutes later. This always concerns me. How can food possibly come out so fast!? The food was just okay. I have had much better Chinese food elsewhere in the city. I was very excited for the all vegan menu but the food just did not blow me away. We probably won't be back. read more

Updating this review. Not sure whether the business is under new ownership or perhaps took reviews to heart. Definitely a marked change in quality and service. I have mostly ordered takeout and each time the food was great. Well packed, hot and as ordered. Staff was courteous and helpful. While dining in, the staff were conscientious regarding a member of our party who has celiac. Looking forward to visiting more in person again. read more

I was mightily disappointed to receive my food for the price I paid. I am gluten free and understand gluten free food sometimes is hard to accommodate. However if you offer an entire gluten free menu I expect a decent meal. The dish was in fact gluten free but tasteless. For my fried rice I got plain white rice with vegetables and chicken... Now I'm no expert chef but typically this dish comes with a sauce that provides flavor. That was no existent for a 15 dollar dish. I also received chicken with rice noodles. Another very easy dish to season and yet they decided to put rice noodles and chicken in a box and expect the customer to be okay with no flavor. My whole family ordered food from Nancy Chang and all the dishes were flavorless. It should be no surprise this restaurant averages three stars. I overall really liked the food, the white rice and General Tso's chicken were good, and the chicken wings were to die for! However, the chicken was dry, as was the beef teriyaki which was flavorless, as well. The packaging however, is so cute! The cardboard boxes in which they put the food are more eco-friendly than a lot of other packaging and for takeout, the presentation was quite nice! My family and I placed a large takeout order from here today and it is most definitely some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while! It wasn't greasy at all and everything was really flavorful! The pork fried rice was so fresh and the General Tso's chicken was delicious! Nancy Chang's, serving up bad attitudes and the blandest Asian cuisine in New England. Ten minutes from downtown Worcester and about 15 minutes from I290, in proximity to Clark in Worcester, MA. Nancy Chang's provides D-list quality Chinese food at fine dining decor and fine dining prices. Nancy Chang's boasts to be 'healthy' Asian food but a majority of there dishes and buffet items are fairly pedestrian, lacking any true Asian flavors, distinction or spices. A majority of the wait staff seems fairly courteous and friendly just not the people that have waited on my table. In every instance that I have visited our waitress or waiter has been rude, short with us or just plain lazy. In one instance we waited 30 minutes to be graced with anyone's presence after we were seated and eventually needed to track someone down to wait on us. The one available waitress who was 'chatting it up at the bar' and kicking a few back, proceeded to argue with us about how long we had been waiting. Needless to say for me this was the last straw. I would never go to this restaurant again, in early 2000 they had some dishes coupled with there atmosphere that were worth going for but now they are just a shadow of what they used to be. I would avoid at all costs, Park St. Chinese, located 5 minutes away is twice the flavor at half the price, with none of the attitude. If you enjoy being treated like you are inferior, want to argue with the wait staff and have a forgettable meal then this place is for you. One of the absolute WORST meals that I have ordered in a very long time. I ordered take out. With surcharge and tip my meal came to $26.00. Twenty six dollars for overcooked beef in too much sauce. I don't mind paying more for good quality and I think their food is good but it is ridiculously overpriced. Refused to serve us edamame just because it was a bar menu item. The bar was 2 feet away from us and it was asinine. Also on the menu it states GF next to items indicating that they're gluten free but what I didn't realize is that you have to request it be gluten free otherwise it won't be. Anytime we are craving delivery Asian food we order from Nancy Chang through Grubhub. It's certainly more expensive than your typical greasy spoon Chinese place but the quality is worth every penny. After I'm done eating my food from here I don't immediately have a knot in my stomach! I love their pineapple fried rice and their hot and sour soup. Their spring rolls are great and my husband enjoys their chow mein. The only meal that I didn't enjoy from here was their chicken lettuce wraps. The chicken wasn't very flavorful. I was home for a visit and was missing some food Chinese food so I went there for dinner with two friends. The service was good. Our table of two became three on a very busy Friday night and the host was able to make the last minute accommodations for us. The atmosphere was busy and lively so that was a nice for us. As always the food was good. We had chicken and beef teriyaki and beef lo mein. We had a good experience there. This is my go-to spot when I have a taste for Chinese food at home. P.S.
