    Peri peri chicken

Had an amazing meal at Nandos in Brewery District which has a full bar! Their Peri Peri Chicken is so nicely seasoned and moist. Love their sauces and u can try them all! Egg tarts were hot and crispy straight out of the oven! Garlic toast was bomb! Shoutout to the staff who were so friendly and service was awesome! Had an amazing time @yelpedmonton event!

Had a wonderful time at today's Yelp event. I love the sauces, especially the garlic sauce.

I had such a great dining experience. The restaurant was clean. The service and the food were amazing! I loved the garlic bread and the Portuguese tarts! The sangria had Fanta in it which was unique and really refreshing! I had leftover peri peri chicken and my toddler loved it! And chicken was a hard sell for my carnivore lately so this was a pleasant surprise.

I always have a great food experience coming to Nandos! (Except when I ordered off Skip and half my order was missing). We ordered the Halloumi sticks with chilli jam, which I didn't care for the texture of the cheese. I prefer a cheese pull, but I do understand with the type of cheese this was not going to happen. The chicken wrap with the sweet chilli jam and the tangy cilantro yogurt is one of my favourite things on the menu! Also ordered the half chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, while the chicken was moist and flavourful, we found the Mac and cheese a bit bland. Only complaint I have is the table was clean, however the seats were dirty. Overall 4/5!

Nando's offers grilled / barbecued chicken instead of rotisserie, and it's awesome. The restaurant is also specialized in peri-peri style chicken. Peri-peri is a hot sauce and you can have plain, or you can have as hot as your heart's content!! You can eat a full chicken, half or quarter, and a variety of chicken meals. Nando's offers a whole variety of sides from salads, fries, and vegetables, to name a few. They also offer bottomless drinks. They are across Canada and the world!!

I've heard people rave about Nando's and wanted to try it for myself, so I finally stopped in here for lunch and found that it really did live up to the hype! The place was larger than I thought, and service was very friendly. The person who seated me did a great job explaining how ordering works (you order and pay at the cashier after you decide what you want, then they serve it to your table if you're eating in). In fact, my cashier did not even believe this was my first time there, since I "ordered like a pro!" I had a quarter chicken with the Piri Piri chippers. As I am not a spice person, I had the chicken plain, but it certainly was loaded with flavour. It tasted like really good barbecue, as though it had been marinated and grilled for a good length of time. The chips were warm and I dipped them into the seasoned mayonnaise served on the side, which was absolutely addictive. I tried one of the custom sauces, the garlic Piri Piri, but found it too spicy. Overall, I really enjoyed the food here and will definitely be back.

A nice place, very polite and helpful staff. We had the classic and the quality of the food was pretty good. The juiciest chicken breast I could ever have! :) I like their sauces which go pretty well with the food. In general a good experience that I'll repeat it again.

My partner and I decided to visit Nando's for lunch on a Sunday afternoon before heading to the City Market in the brewery district to get some groceries. When you walk into Nando's you are seated and given menus. Then you go up to the front to order and pay. One thing that I don't like about this system, is that you are expected to tip before you have gotten your meal. The woman who took our order was friendly. She went above and beyond and gave us a pitcher for water so we didn't have to keep going up to refill our glasses (drinks, cutlery, napkins, and sauces are self serve). The restaurant itself is colourful, bright, and comfortable. The woman who brought our food just dumped it on the table (she didn't even put our plates in front of us) which was disappointing. We ordered the classic share platter, which consists of a whole chicken, garlic bread and your choice of side to share. We chose the hearty cole slaw. When the food arrived, the coleslaw had tons of creamy dressing (too much) and was very basic: just cabbage and shedded carrots. When it was described as hearty I would have expected some nuts and seeds or something in it. The chicken was tasty, moist, but a but oily for our liking. The garlic toast was yummy: buttery crispy goodness. The portions were large. This dish costs $31.49, which is reasonable for two. Overall we found this place just okay, and the model of ordering to be kind of annoying.

I've been here a few times usually for take out. But I took my sister here when she was visiting from Ontario and we sat in. Such a great place to go to if you're craving chicken...but more elevated. The decor is absolutely stunning. I like the bold colours and the booths are super cozy. I highly recommend the Peri Peri Drizzle if you like that nice kick to your food. It comes with the hummus, but I like ordering a bit extra for my chicken. The Portuguese Bread was okay. Very similar to just garlic bread. The chicken is always seasoned perfectly. My favourite salad is the Casa Salad. It looks like your regular garden salad but topped up with their signature dressing (looks like Caesar- but is actually a vinaigrette). And the best part is actually the unlimited sauces! There's a counter where you can just fill small containers, some with a garlic sauce and the rest range in different choice of heat i.e. mild, medium, hot. The service is good when you arrive to take your order. They are always friendly and will gladly explain the flavour options and how the sauces and sides work. After ordering your food at the till, the bring it to you. Over all, a must go if you're looking for elevated dining for South African chicken.

This isn't my first experience at Nando's but it was a pleasant surprise to find one close to downtown region. There's lots of parking, even parking underground right in the lot which isn't something I see very often. The interior is pretty characteristic of the other two Nando's here in Edmonton, it has a very wood-centric feel to it. My friends and I of course ordered what they are most well-known for, the Peri-peri chicken. This time I got to try one of their new sides, the "chippers". They're essentially like the cactus cut potato chips you can find at BP's, but I think I like these ones better. Well-seasoned, crunchy - and they give you some peri sauce to dip it in. The chicken was pretty good which I think goes without saying. The only thing I don't like about Nando's is the cleanliness, and this goes for all 3 Nando's as well. I know they're sort of a fast-food joint, but it detracts from my general experience when I have to trek through sticky puddles likely originating from the 100+ flavor soda machine, or the washrooms that don't seem to be frequently cleaned, or when I'm observing the water spots on the glass and silverware. I'll still likely go back to Nando's the next time I crave grilled chicken though.

In the Brewery district, Nando's locates by MEC. Booths and table seating. Menus available to pick what you want and then head to the counter to order. Drinks through a machine unless hot or alcoholic beverage which is served to you at your table. I had the Chicken Sandwich and Peri peri fries with salad. Extra dressings and sauces are located at the front counter adjacent to where you order. They also sell their sauces. Savory chicken and fries you can't go wrong. There are other side options as well - lots to choose from. Family friendly! Clean eating areas and bathroom. Parking is shared above ground and underground :)

Hello new neighborhood! First day since move in day and we wanted walk around and enjoy some confort food, after almost two weeks of packing, moving boxes and moving more boxes we deserved something good! So we picked Nando's! This was exactly what we needed. Tasty food, great service, nice atmosphere and good background music! A full pack was perfect for us, it came with a whole chicken, 2 sides, wedges and casa salad, plus the garlic bread all that for $ 37.95 The servers were super friendly and helpful. The place was clean and the decoration was lovely. We walked here but plenty parking was available. I will definitely add this place to my new list of "Places to visit on the Brewery District"

SPICY AND EASY! (And less spicy if you prefer). Nando's is set up similar to Famoso style restaurant. You enter, are seated, look over the menu and when you are ready - go up to the till and order. They will ask for your table number so make sure to remember the number when you order. If it's your first time the server will let you know all these details and how it works. I've tried their smashed peas, garlic mash potatoes, fries, and medium spice chicken. Medium is actually a decent amount of spice so start there. Food is delicious. You can get the bottles of peri peri sauce to add extra sauce, so if you need more spice add the hot level sauce after! Food comes quick and is delicious. Last amazing piece is that they have one of those new pop machines that you can mix and match and has 100s of selections. If you don't know What I mean, check it out!

Most people in the city are familiar with Sabor, Edmonton's legendary Spanish and Portuguese restaurant. But have you ever wished that there was a more casual, more low-key version of Sabor? Maybe with multiple conveniently located spots around town? Well you're in luck because that's exactly what Bodega is! You'll find Bodega's flagship restaurant in the lower street level part of Sabor itself, however there are now five other locations. It's almost a guarantee that there is a Bodega near you, no matter where you are. People have loved this place for years. Voted as #1 Best Tapas 2018, #1 Best Spanish 2018, and #1 Best Wine Bar 2018 in VUE Weekly. CBC Edmonton's Best Restaurants 2019 listed them as Best of Downtown. And you'll find them as a Favourite Communal (Sharing) spot on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2022 list. It turns out that the people of Edmonton love a laid-back tapas moment and getting some sangria into the mix doesn't hurt either. I was excited to visit Bodega's original location in the heart of Downtown on a Saturday evening and to finally experience their flavours. The first thing to note about the OG Bodega restaurant is that they don't take reservations, however all of the other ones do. As previously mentioned, you will find the flagship location right inside of Sabor. Parking can sometimes be tricky in this area and that's the only downside. If you've been to Sabor before you already know how impressive the space is. The huge building is one of those places that doesn't need to pretend to be old because it actually is. Instead of heading up the stairs into Sabor's dining space, Bodega is found to the left of the entrance in the lower street-facing area. It's actually a wonderful use of space which otherwise might not have served much of a purpose. Less dressed up and grand than Sabor (but still bearing a similar decor), Bodega harnesses the Spanish modern-day watering hole vibe by featuring a simple but beautiful bar area and bistro-style al fresco dining in the warmer months. The dining space is small and because there are no reservations taken it might be necessary to prepare for a wait. When my group arrived it took about 15 minutes to be seated which seemed entirely reasonable. We were pleased to be situated at a beautiful little table outdoors, in the warm summer breeze. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bugs flying around that kept landing on our table and we had to ask to be moved to one of the more interior tables. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate this! We really didn't want the bugs to land in our food. The servers who visited our table were all extraordinarily friendly and gracious. Of course there were going to be drinks! The wine list is plentiful and extensive. However, I was more drawn to the interesting Iberico gin & tonics, caipirinhas, sangria, and the signature cocktails. These are the types of drinks that I picture myself holding on a patio in the summer. From the cocktail list, the De Puta Madre (Mezcal, dry Sherry, pineapple, lemon, orgeat, cocoa powder - $16) sounded like the most special one to me. Out of curiosity, I put the name of this drink into a Spanish to English translator and had a pretty good laugh when I learned that it means Fucking Awesome. Well. Sounds like I made the correct beverage choice! And I really did enjoy sipping on this perfectly crafted cocktail. I was slightly worried that the mezcal would be very strong and boozy, but the balance of the ingredients was lovely. I felt that I was able to taste and appreciate the flavour of the mezcal without it being too overpowering. The fruity and sweet flavours from the pineapple, lemon, and almond syrup made the drink fun, but again it wasn't too sweet either. I loved this cocktail and it paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. The food menu is packed full of options and every single thing sounds enticing. The good news is that the plates are small and part of the experience is to order a lot of them. There's a whole long list of tapas, but also breads, spreads, charcutaria, and cheese if you are in the mood to create an exciting board (I always am!). There are also some larger plates if you are truly looking for one big meal of food. On this visit I was aiming to remain in the tapas realm since that is what this restaurant is actually all about. As such, we proceeded to barrage our server with a long list of items, eager to sample as many dishes as reasonably possible. We were asked if we would prefer to have every dish all at once, but opted for a slow and staggered method. No need to hurry though! It wasn't long before our parade of plates began to arrive. First was the Brushchetta (Grape tomato and fromage blanc - $14.00). I wouldn't have chosen this dish on my own accord but I saw it pass by on its way to a different table and it caught my eye. The tomatoes looked
