It had almost a third of the quantity that it showed in the photo, plus it had no chives sprinkled on top. They also forgot my $4 mango lemonade. When I called in to the 'restaurant' her response was that she "put in every item that she was required to." As for my $4 drink, they wanted to credit me one rather than refunding it. Was out and about and thought to myself I haven't had Nando's in awhile. Decided to swing by this location which is located in a small strip mall. The chicken at this location was slightly better than other Nando's in my memory. The chicken had good flavour and not dried out at all. The staff there was friendly and welcoming. My wife ordered the rainbow chicken bowl (add two thighs) and I ordered the spicy chicken Caesar wrap (level 2 spice) with one side of regular fries. My wife thought there was way too much rice and too little of the chicken. She thought the flavor of the chicken and the peri peri sauce were good though. My wrap was very average, but I did like the peri ranch which added a nice flavor. The food itself was ok, but at $40.91 CAD ($29.70 USD) it was quite overpriced for what you get. A South African friend of mine said Nando's as a whole is decent representation of his country's chicken cuisine. Since there's one right over the border, I figured I should try it. Don't be fooled, it's a fast casual place with few, if any frills. You order at the counter, and they bring it out to you. The service was friendly enough, and they made a sauce recommendation (lemon) that was really delicious. We opted for wing roulette, with wings in every level of sauce, and we each got the double leg, one medium and one lemon. The medium really isn't all that spicy and the sauces in general are more vinegary than you might expect. It's got great flavor, and the flame-grilled-and-basted chicken is juicy and comes out piping hot. I'm glad we got medium, so we could really taste all the flavors, but next time I'd go for a bit more heat. Don't expect to eat neatly... Get in there and enjoy it. If you're into fries, go with the wedges and use the garlic vinegar sauce for dipping. They're way better than the regular fries and provide a bit of texture change from the chicken. There are salads and wraps on the menu, and they all looked fine, but the actual chicken is where it's at. read more

Second time in 12 years ordering from a Nando's - different locations, but sadly similar experiences. So, COVID notwithstanding, this will be our last. But first some advice. We tend to go to take-out/delivery based on busy lifestyles. But we still try to make our choices about quality, taste and uniqueness. Not very many of those points were met - at all. Yes, these are weird times, but we've ordered from other vendors with infinitely better results. A chicken sandwich needs chicken (50% delivered - see photo), taste - spicy - OK, but some kind of additives beyond a slice of tomato and a wilted lettuce leaf. As we, at some point, exit the worldwide shutdown, some businesses will emerge and thrive and others will struggle. Take a hint and address the shortcomings - it's not too late, and if you think like a customer you'll know what you can, and must, do. read more

We normally visit this particular Nando's. I am wondering if the location changed hands. The menu has also changed. They used to have girls at the register who were very friendly and patient with the customers. I must say, the chef/cook knows what he is doing when it comes to the chicken. It was so flavorful and tender. Finger lickin good! The fries were hot and fresh, but the coleslaw tasted more like mayonnaise than anything else. So 5/5 for the chicken. Now, let's move on to the gentleman behind the counter. He should be friendlier to his customers. Also, if you are going to suggest a sauce and it is extra, please tell the customer. Nando's was founded in South Africa by 2 guys back in 1987. Their idea to butterfly and baste chicken with a Chilli sauce (or PERi-PERi as it became known) on an open flame took off. Very nice restaurant and clean. No one else was at this location when I walked in. There's no menu board so I had to ask her for a menu. Ordered takeout and hung around. Then decided to order some Portuguese tarts which were displayed at the counter. When I asked her, she didn't seem to know what they were and I eventually had to point to the display. I took the 1/2 chicken home and the flavor was good. It could have been spicier but I had erred on the side of caution and ordered medium. The breast wasn't dry. Portuguese tarts: pastry was chewy. The filling was way too sweet. I might return but the service experience was disjointed. I would get their marinades and basting sauces because they are made from 100% natural ingredients. I went for the second time last night with my wife. The people are so friendly and helpful. It was clear we weren't really sure what we were doing or what we wanted to order, so the guys offered to help walk us through the menu, asked us questions about spice preference, gave recommendations etc. And it's not like it was a waiter/waitress doing this, these guys were at the counter. I was impressed. I had the chicken pita (hot) with the peri fries as a side, and my wife got the caesar salad (the small size) with medium spice chicken. We also had a little bag of peri spiced nuts. My pita was delicious. I complained at first that all the chicken was at the back/bottom of the pita, but really it's kind of brilliant... otherwise how else would I eat my vegetables. The fries were so very tasty. Just the little bit of spice was great when we dipped them in ketchup. I'd risk saying they are my favorite fries in the area. My wife's salad, for being a small size, was a good size portion, definitely enough for a meal. The medium spice chicken tasted perfect with the caesar dressing. And the nuts (which I just finished) were awesome! Spicy, but not too spicy (though I like a healthy amount of spice), and very tasty! I'd highly recommend getting these. Convenient location and good service. Portions could be bigger and alcohol should be take out as well. Only allowed to drink if you sit in unfortunately.
