I enjoyed all Nando's location food. They have very delicious sauces that make their chicken yummy. Peri-Peri means pepper. It is a type of pepper that comes from Africa as per one of the Nando employee that I met at one of the Nando's Yelp event I went to a year back (Not at this location). Everytime, I come to Nando I always order their chicken. I mean that is what they are known for. I usually have them make my chicken with the garlic and herb sauce while B would have his Extra Hot. If you want the best deal get the whole chicken and share it. If you like specific part of the chicken then just get that specific part of the chicken. I like the food at this location. They are quite generous on the sauce. Note that if you opt to have the entree without any side, it is $2.99 less than the posted price for entree + 1 side. read more

Recently re-opened under new management, this Nando's location delivers great service and high standard Nando's famous items! Most Nando's locations have different interpretations of interior design that reflects the S. African/Portuguese influence, and this location also shares this design concept! Cheerful, individualistic & user friendly! I particularly like the Chicken Liver here, its grilled to perfection, texture is creamy and rich, you will have a choice of Garlic toast or Portuguese Bun, perfect for soaking up the delicious sauce! I find the chicken here are grilled perfectly as the skin are crispier then a few other locations, even thought we have a Nando's where I live, but I will prefer to come to this location just because of this reason! Remember, you have a choice of different spicy level, I usually go for medium and ask for more spicy Peri-peri Sauce on the side, just in case you want to kick it up a few notches! Service is very friendly and all the Covid precautions were adhered, plenty of free customer parking at this mall! I've been to a few Nandos locations and they all pretty much have the same standard and vibe. This location is no different. We got a salad and I got the peri peri chicken burger. My spice tolerance is embarrassingly low, but I still sprung for the medium level as I didn't want a bland burger. This restaurant isnt like most. The level of spice indicated is what you will get. Medium was perfect as I definitely felt the spice - cue my nose running, but it wasn't so overwhelming that I couldn't taste anything else. If you've got more of a indian taste for spice the hot and extra hot level will be more satisfying. Service was really good. At the Guildford location once we got our food that was the end of us interacting with any of the staff. But here the staff regularly checked in to see how the food was and if we needed anything else. The attentive service was appreciated. read more

I admit I am not a regular here, mainly because of the price. With that said, the food is pretty decent. Parking is ample thanks to this location being part of a strip mall. Service is prompt and friendly, and there are also newspapers available. They have different sized meals ranging from $8-11. You can either get chicken with 1 or 2 side dishes. The chicken is among the best you can get around here. The difference? It's grilled, not fried. Oh, and the Peri Peri sauce is awesome. There are 3 types, and you can add it all over your rice, fries, or chicken. The chicken itself comes with different spiciness levels. I had the Hot (2nd level from the top) spiciness, and hot it was. They don't weaken it here. The pieces of chicken are not that physically big though, so don't expect something from the BBQ section of Superstore or Safeway. This is my biggest gripe. You can leave hungry if you're not careful. $10 for a chicken meal is a bit on the expensive side in my books, but maybe it's because I'm used to eating (cheaper) Asian food. read more

When I got to the car I looked inside the bag and saw that the girl had given me the Peri-Peri (string) fries. I had specifically asked for fresh made wedge fries. So I took them back and she would not refund or take responsibility for messing up my order. All she would give as an explanation was that she had repeatedly asked me if i wanted peri fries, which is not true. It wasn't until after discussion that she finally explained to me that they are completely out of wedge fries. So she shrugged her shoulders and blew me off. On top of that the string fries were old, limp and over salted. Gross. Even my junk food junkie roommate wouldn't eat them. I will never return to the Queensborough Landing location on Boyde street & it's doubtful I'll feel compelled to enter any other Nando's location. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews here, in terms of portion and quality of food. The menu here is bigger than the Nando's we usually go to by Metrotown and we happened to be in the area so we decided to dine in. Service was not horrible, a guy greeted us and let us know we could get seated anywhere, and then told us we can go up to order and they would give us a number like usual for someone to bring our order to our table. The portion seemed so much smaller than what we normally get at the Metrotown one, and I don't think Metrotown is overly generous or anything. read more

Cured a hangover quite well. Went for the chicken whole wheat wrap with fries and vitamin water. Pricey at $14, for lunch anyways. Chicken was fresh, though I dosed each bite with their peri sauces (worth taking home). Fries were a McCain rendition but I needed the grease. The two ladies at the front were somewhat entertaining. I love this Nandos. Great Chicken every time. This one is not a franchise, it's a Corporate Store, so you get a good mix of staff, unlike day a Subway, where many don't hire anyone except there own family. The staff here a courteous and always cleaning up. They have a manager on duty all the time. They have a discount of 15% for anyone who works in the landing, Casino or Transit yard, in fact many places there give a discount. Prices I find a reasonable and the difference in quality shows, unlike other Nando's, especially the Subpar Metrotown locations. read more

I am a fan of the Nando's Chicken chain; anytime you pour hot sauce on anything I will generally like it. Not for the faint of heart (well at least those with a low tolerance of hot food) their peri-peri sauce is simply addictive. Have started my peri-peri obsession with trying it on a baked potato, I have branched our and tried a variety of the chicken offering - my personal favorite is the chicken pita without tomato and "hot" chicken (note: me being someone who dumps crushed chili paste into my food without issues deems this to be hot). If you are less apt with spicy food they offer "medium" hotness or if you really don't handle it well they have a lemon garlic sauce as well. My suggestion for hot food lovers - get the hot or extra hot, come with a supply of kleenex as it will make your nose run, your face flush and maybe you'll sweat a little bit. read more

Just grabbing a bite of lunch before hitting the casino close by... I'd seen these places around but never really knew what type of food it offered, so today was the day to try it out! Right from the time we walked in the door, I knew it was gonna be a great experience! The decor was warm and festive. Kinda of had a Mexican but European flair. The staff was so kind and friendly, the menu was thoroughly explained. Once we made our minds up, we placed our order, had a beer and waited. Our food was delivered quickly, presentation was terrific, I wish I took a picture, it really was appealing. And the quality was top notch, you could visibly see how fresh it was... Now the taste test... I went for the medium peri-peri and it was perfect for me. Atmosphere, staff and food was awesome... The whole experience was excellent. I would like to say my experience was positive but it wasn't. I have had food poisoning once before in Mexico years ago. I got again it from this location after ordering a chicken wrap. This time it was far worse. I was literally shaking in pain and shivering for nearly 24 hours. I called the store /management and they expressed their genuine concern which I thought was nice. They checked all the food and dates and temperature and said everything was good. This was definately where it came from as it was all I had eaten that day and couldnt eat anything else for 24 hours. This is by far my favourite Nando's location to dine in at. The customer service is above and beyond. Nothing but smiles once you enter the doors. Once seated, they constantly ask if you are doing ok, and if there is anything else they can get you. The food was on point with no complaints. Absolutely terrible service... On a takeout order! Will not be going back here. Don't tell someone their order will take 10-15 minutes, only to have it ready just about an hour later. The whole point of calling ahead for a take out order is for the food to be ready in time for pickup or close to that given time... Not to start the order when the customer walks in the door after the estimated pickup time expecting their meal. I could have gone grocery shopping and made a meal in that time! And the manager couldn't have cared less... Love the Nandos franchise, and we frequent other locations that are closer to home. This situation is unique to this location. We have had lunch here on several occasions and every time the service is super and the enthusiastic greetings genuine. I was not a fan of Nando's until I actually tasted their food. The Queensborough Nando's recently provided catering services for a staff Christmas party, and I was thoroughly impressed. We ordered food for 60 people, including 2 large peri peri platters, wings, and sides of mashed potatoes, rice, veggies and garlic bread. As we have some vegetarians on staff we also ordered a large platter of vegetarian wraps, portabello wraps, and sandwiches. The order was supposed to be ready at 6:00 pm, and when I walked in the door at 6:00 pm they were closing up the last tray. The food was hot, fresh, tasty, and extremely well packaged in large sturdy aluminum trays that were the perfect size to drop directly into my chafing dishes. They say that a large peri peri platter will serve up to 25 people, and it will, easily. The portions were very generous, and they made sure to include all necessary sauces and accompaniments. The vegetarian options were hearty and tasty, and best of all the price paid for what we received was an excellent value. I would highly recommend this Nando's location if you need catering services, either large or small. I've seen some older reviews here that aren't the greatest, but I believe there's been a definite turn around. The franchisee, Jason, and all his staff did a great job, and in listening to their interactions with other customers I believe that they really do care about providing a great service experience for their guests. I've been in the food and beverage industry myself for many years, so these are all things that I tend to notice when choosing an establishment for dining out. Snotty bitch at the counter. Small portions. Nice looking joint, was expecting something satisfying. Walked up to the counter, asked the pretty blonde teenager what "Perri Perri" is (It's mentioned about a hundred times on the menu and signage, but doesn't describe it). She says "It's our spice" and gives me a withering look. I order a quarter chicken dinner with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I ask if they have a license. She doesn't understand what I'm saying. I say do you have a liquor license? She gives me a dramatic eye-roll as if to say "Duuuh". Points to this barrel-thing by the counter with beer bottles poking out of it. Oh. OK. Food is $12. A bottle of Canadian is $4.50. Pay for food. go to washroom to clean up. Come back out and sit, having a look around at the nice decor. Very nice young man arrives with my food, places it before me. Just a plate. No cutlery. Go back to the counter and ask blondie if I can have some cutlery. She points to the other side of the dining room, there's this kind of screen, behind which I find forks and knives and napkins and stuff. Nice of her to mention it before. I grab a bottle of the Perri Perri sauce to get to the bottom of what it actually is. Just to see I grab a bottle of ketchup. I find you can learn a lot about a place by sniffing their ketchup. Back at the table, the quarter chicken is really just a chicken leg. It's pretty scrawny, but the marinade is quite yummy, any other restaurant would call it jerk. The coleslaw is fresh & tasty. The garlic mashed potatoes are kind of gummy and bland. The perri perri sauce is basically pickapeppa sauce. The ketchup was funky, they refill the bottles without washing them and don't refrigerate the ketchup between shifts. Nuff said. read more

Nandos, as a franchise, is great! No matter how bad our experience is, it is always not bad enough to warrant writing a bad review. This review is for this location only. We visited this location on Christmas eve in 2014 at 5:30pm. Their closing time was 7pm. The restaurant had some patrons inside so the atmosphere was lively (hence the 2 stars). Upon ordering a Chicken Sandwich, a Chicken Wrap, and a small peri fries, my girlfriend and I received the following: Chicken Wrap: - 2 small and not-so-long slices of chicken in one half of the wrap - No jam sauce, which is the reason we go the wrap. - Chicken was not properly grilled/cooked Chicken Sandwich: - "mini-sized" chicken patty, which was okay but when I got to the 3/4 mark, I realised there was no meat left. - Cold bun Side of Peri-fries: - Cold fries - Hardly any 'spicy red flakes.' Actions upon receipt of this: We informed the manager about the chicken wrap and showed her the evidence. The Manager's response: "What do you want us to do?" Unfortunately, I wasn't able to tell if she was serious or sarcastic? We asked her what our options are as we obviously don't know what they could've done since we don't work there. She responded by saying "What can we do? I mean its Christmas eve." Her tone of voice suggested that she wanted to get out of here and don't expect good quality since its christmas eve. There was no direct apology and she said "Okay, i'll give you some chicken on the side." At that point, we waited for the chicken to arrive and it did so after most of our food was finished, of course. That chicken also didn't have any sauce, was plain, and not very appetizing as it had some fats in the tiny side plate she gave us. Meanwhile, I asked one of the workers for a cup of hot water. She said "Sure thing" 10 minutes later, I asked again and she said okay and finally brought it. It was evident she wanted to go home as less than 2 minutes later, we saw her put her jacket on and leave. This was honestly the worst experience we have had at any Nandos. Food quality was bad, service was bad, management was bad. A simple solution would be to discuss the team structure, discuss the issues with the employees, which was evident, and go from there. We don't see ourselves going back to that location as the location across the bridge, though smaller, has better service and we have yet to have a bad experience there. read more

We were a party of 2 & ordered 1 full chicken with 2 side dishes. These dishes were very small plates yet only 3/4 filled, not even enough for 1 person. When we complained to the manager she was very unfriendly & we felt like she is doing us a favour by talking to us. She mentioned that she is "manager for 1 year" & regarding the portion size, "it is what it is ." Don't waste your money at Nando's. I am not certain if the order to cut side dish portions comes from the head office or if it's this one particular location. in any event no more Nando's for us In summary it is an expensive, overrated fast food restaurant. read more

Will definitely not go back even though we've been regulars for the past few years. IF you can get passed the poor service, then I guarantee you that the food never disappoints. We sometimes eat-in, but usually get take-out. If you order take-out, check the contents of the brown bag before you leave. They almost never get it right. We returned home countless times only to find out that some items were missing or they decided to reduce the portions of certain items that particular day. The staff used crank up the tv to watch The Simpsons. If that's not bad enough, service has worsened since they renovated. They hired a lot of new untrained staff. Some even take smoke breaks in front of the restaurant. The staff at the service counter chata and ignore customers while we wait and wait to be served; and finally when they decide to work, they choose to serve customers who came it last! One didn't even know how to use a debit machine. She simply handed me the debit machine and expected me to enter the purchase amount on my own. Needless to say I didn't leave a tip that time! The new self-serve soft drink machine is a cool concept, but the drinks come of flat. Too many reasons to not go back again. I'd rather drive 5 mins across the Queensborough bridge to a different location. read more
