We do not recommend this company for a Live-In or unique situation. We signed up with this agency on-line for a small fee and were assigned a specific agent for our account. We explained our situation that we are a remote household in Alaska and needing a commitment for 4 months this summer. We would supply full room and board, private living space, monthly salary & gratuities, and also transportation to the lodge from the closest city. The responsiveness from our agent and them getting us candidates was quite impressive as it was a turnaround time of pretty much 24 hours from when we signed up. They are a very transparent company when it comes to background checks, past work history, and contact numbers for references which was very comforting for my wife and I. With that comfort level came with me not feeling the need to contact these references personally...CONTACT THEM YOURSELVES!!! We had eliminated one of the three candidates they referred being that we weren't comfortable with some of the issues they had with their background check. We held phone interviews with the other two and both were very professional and very solid candidates for our situation. On top of them showing serious interest in the position. As I just said, any person reading this review needs to take it upon themselves to contact the persons references personally because this is where things went south for us. Half of the references that were listed for one of the candidates did not answer nor return my calls. The other three references that I was able to connect with did not relay the information my wife and I were expecting. The references did not say anything horrible or out of line about the candidate but they did say that they would not use the nanny services again due to certain reasons. We then got a call from the one candidate saying that they personally contacted these references and they did not say any such thing about them...So my wife and I are basically being accused of making all of this up?!? We were also assured from our agent that all of her references checked out...did the agent contact them personally or go off of the word from the candidate? I would bet money on the latter. The other candidate was expecting too much for compensation and we weren't able to meet in the middle. I have read other reviews and some other families have expressed the same about the nanny wanting too much money. If the family is supplying everything for that live-in situation in addition to monetary compensation, then of course the pay would and should be adjusted accordingly. Needless to say we are dead in the water with our search. I say it as so because we feel after we expressed these concerns let alone requesting that we could get more applicants we were dropped like a bad habit. I feel this company is more for temporary 4-5 hour shift at a time type of situation and not your special, unique live-in nanny situation. She was also dishonest with clients by not divulging background check results, and my not updating or contacting references. I was also offered a "ghost" schedule of which the client was unaware and could not accommodate. Be wary of "phony" accolades and promises as a nanny seeking employment. read more

We had a very disappointing experience working with this agency. We paid a $10,000 placement fee (and were encouraged to wire immediately so we would not lose the candidate) and were placed with a terribly inexperienced nanny who was not able to drive safely or confidently, despite driving being a core requirement of the role. We later learned that her driving background check had not been completed at the time of placement because she had not submitted the required documentation. This was not disclosed to us, even during multiple conversations where we raised concerns about her driving. Given the cost of the service, we expected a much higher level of vetting, transparency, and candidate quality. The placement ultimately did not work out, and we terminated the nanny due to safety concerns. We made a good faith effort to engage in the replacement process and were told that if a suitable placement was not found, the fee would be refunded. Before that process concluded, our former nanny unexpectedly returned to Miami and we no longer needed to continue the search. We requested a partial refund to resolve the situation fairly and amicably. The agency did not respond to our outreach for a period of time, and ultimately retained the full fee while offering a "future credit" toward placement services instead. Given our former nanny has returned and the experience we had the first time, this is not practical for our family and is just a convenient way for the agency to retain our money without providing the service. The agency declined to provide any refund and retained the full $10,000 fee despite not finding us a suitable long-term nanny. After speaking with friends and neighbors, it seems so many people have had a similarly awful experience with this agency. I would strongly encourage families to use a cheaper nanny agency service and conduct their own background checks--especially for roles involving driving--and to fully understand the agency's no refund policies before moving forward. You should also ensure you receive and retain a copy of your contract, as it was not proactively provided to us upon signing. read more

The sign up process was not user friendly, and the contract was not clear. The nanny's were worse. We paid thousands of dollars to meet with weak candidates that did not have vehicles, which we expressed a need for. We moved forward with someone after several unsuccessful interviews, and the nanny (babysitter who talked on her phone) lasted 4 days. We decided not to move forward with the company after wasting our time with useless candidates. They offered a ~20% refund on the nearly $3K we were unexpectedly charged. PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! I am a new Mom of a 9 month old baby girl. I was already hesitant to leave her with someone I did not know, but she was not feeling well and her daycare would not take her in fear of the other children getting sick. I was told i would be getting a totally prescreen, qualified nanny who would have experience with infants. This was VERY important to us, as we wanted to ensure we were leaving our daughter in the care of someone who had a great deal of experience. What showed up to my door was a no more then 18 year old girl in ripped jeans and a t-shirt, appearances aside she had NO NONE ZERO experience with infants!!! she seemed confused as to why she was with my daughters age range. Come to find out after NUMEROUS calls to the agency - they failed to check her references and claimed they sent over the wrong nanny!!!!! My husband immediately went home and had to take the day off to be with her.. Needless to say i will be reporting them to every agency I can find -they are unprofessional, unorganized and a TOTAL scam!!! We were sent 4 people to interview, all of whom were completely unfit for the job of Saturday night babysitter for my toddler let alone a permanent nanny. This company had terrible customer service, a terrible selection of nannies and pushed me into hiring someone for their $2,000.00 fee who never showed up for her 1st day of work. They never reimbursed me and I had to start a credit card dispute. After they knew the nanny never showed they never tried to make it right or send me anybody new to interview. If I could rate them Zero stars I would happily! My Girlfriend worked for them on a Multi week contract taking care of multiple clients children at the same time. My GF takes her job very seriously and has gone above and beyond to provide the best care for the kids despite the fact that they have: -Failed to pay her and all other Nannies on the contract -Forced the local manager to quit and seek other employment by not paying her at all. -The company owner has been repeatedly rude and unprofessional to her in all correspondence regarding pay. - Upon agreeing to finally pay for hours already worked the owner changed her hourly rate to LESS than the agreed upon rate. This company is both a terrible place to work for and with the way they treat their employees, an absolutely terrible place to seek care for your child. I know for one my GF will not be working for this company after we settle the pay dispute no matter what they offer her. I used this horrible company in Ft Lauderdale, FL, but did not see a listing there so I thought i would add to the other disappointed Moms here since it appears to be owned by 1 person. Extremely disappointed with a nanny that was sent to care for my 9 month old twins. She ignored virtually every single instruction I gave her, insisted her methods regarding feeding, bathing and sleeping were better than mine, and overall did not seem to care for or even like children. 1) I asked her to feed the babies FOOD every 3 hours and she left a note that she only fed them formula once in a 6-hour period. 2) I informed her they were on vacation & not at their own home & not yet not sleep-trained. She insisted on starting sleep training that day and said she was helping me by doing this. Arrived home to see the nanny sprawled on the couch in the living room with BRAVO TV literally blaring. She immediately asked for payment & left when I arrived after telling me the twins were asleep. Only then did I discover that my son has been left in his crib covered in vomit. Vomit all over him, his clothes, the bedsheet, the crib itself and the floor!!! Spent the next 2 hours bathing him, washing clothes, bedsheet, sanitizing the crib and floor. When I contacted the agency and demanded they replace this person they did not seem apologetic at all. The next day I found out Nanny Poppinz lied to her, saying I decided to leave town instead of telling her she was a nightmare, negligent and incompetent. I must be honest about the service received from Nanny poppinz agency. I think they are ok for a 4 hour babysitting job. The people I was sent to review demanded 25 dollars or more an hour. I was like ok what are you offering to demand this price: I ask myself and the nanny? I was told over 25 years of experience. I thought was that all. For 25 dollars you need a degree or two in something dealing with children; degenerates have children too, but I don't want them taking care of my children. So, we negotiated a more reasonable price for live in. It only lasted six months, because there were personal issues that I could not bare to endure from the nanny. I believe because she did not have formal training in areas that were important to me, like sleep training, professionalism, and communication; I had to let her go. Being a nanny Intels more than just babysitting children, and if you are live-in it matters more to consider the whole family. I don't believe the agency is set up for live-in nannies. I do believe it is ok for maybe four hours when you need them. This nanny wanted to be paid for every hour as a live-in. I thought that was too much, when I'm paying for everything including food, entertainment, and personal day manicures, and pedis. Because my baby was a newborn I needed her to work as needed 24 hours a day for the first 6 months, and then a more regular schedule.Once the baby was sleep- trained ( took from birth to 2 months)mostly by me, she would not take the opportunity to rest when the baby was sleep from 11-7; even though she had the monitor. I didnt know what tell her. I encouraged her to rest and take naps. She wanted a 9-5 situation, but that was not what we agreed on at the agency. Her communication began to break-down and it became a mess. I had to think of my family. I did not want to introduce and keep a negative situation going on in my family. I think she would have done great if It had not been a live-in situation. I hold no ill will for the nanny poppinzs agency nor the nanny that worked with us. This is a review for Nanny Poppinz, but not the SoCal franchise. I couldn't find a listing for my local franchise in Richmond, VA. -- But the overall company is owned by the same woman. I completely agree with the nanny who wrote a review here. The Richmond, VA Nanny Poppinz is run the same way. It is completely unprofessional. The "placement agent", Lourdes, is located in Florida, not Virginia. She never even meets the potential nannies face-to-face. Even the "nannies" she sent to us to interview complained that they never actually got to meet anyone from the agency themselves. We've worked with other agencies in LA, the Elizabeth Rose agency and the Help Company, both of which provided excellent communication, service, and potential nannies. We found a wonderful nanny while we were in LA. Unfortunately, Nanny Poppinz sent sub-par applicants. The first nanny we tried through Nanny Poppinz said she didn't smoke, but she took our daughter out with her for "smoke breaks". She also left our then 16 month old daughter unattended downstairs for several minutes, while she looked for something upstairs. We complained to Lourdes but did not hear back until we called other Nanny Poppinz agencies and left messages on their website. In fact, we also reported our experience to our local Better Business Bureau. They eventually sent us other candidates to interview; however, none of the candidates had very much experience actually being nannies. Most of them worked in daycares. I would say that perhaps we were expecting too much to find an excellent nanny in Richmond, VA, but that's not true. We found a wonderful nanny on our own from nannies4hire.com. I used this agency to hire a babysitter when my go-to sitter was unavailable. It was for an important dinner with a good family friend to celebrate his life and survival of a recent serious illness. I wanted to use an agency to find someone because I assumed the sitters would be more professional - BIG MISTAKE! I rarely leave my boys with babysitters besides my usual nanny, but this was a rare occasion. I talked with my kids about how they would be having a new sitter, and we made cookies for them to eat after dinner as a special treat. When the time came for the sitter to show up - no one arrived. I started calling the agency after about 15 minutes. After leaving a message they finally called me back after another 15 minutes and said she needed directions and to call her directly. I thought oh ok, she was just lost. I called her and she said that she needed directions from Temecula - which would be about an hour away from us! She said she had forgotten about the job and would be on her way. I told her that would not be acceptable as we would miss the dinner completely. Luckily, we were able to get another friend to come watch the boys for a couple hours, but it certainly was not what we had planned for! I ended up having to email the head of the agency directly to even get a refund for the booking fee! I found this agency to be completely unprofessional, and I was shocked that they would not even help me find someone else at the last minute. read more
