My wife and I recently ordered takeout from Nansense. I was expecting more dishes featuring naan as the base but found the menu somewhat limited. My wife had the rice bowl with chicken, I got the rice bowl with beef, and my youngest son ordered the burger with masala fries--which he really enjoyed--while my oldest ordered the bolani. They both got a lemonade with their meals. The food was good, and my favorite part was the kabuli (carrots and raisins). I'm not sure if I'd return, but maybe I'd give it another try if they expand their menu.

Delicious spot that I'm glad we came across. The burger patties were so rich with flavor and the masala fries truly hit the spot on a cold day. The staff was awesome and super helpful with questions. Big fan

I have been waiting to leave this review just to see if anything changed in my order for this past year. I order the same thing double or single smash burger and ff on the side. This is a semi- small establishment with a beautiful & clean interior w/ some outdoor seating out front. For an extra 5$ French fries are a must! It is well worth it considering the burger is very well priced ($7). Always greeted with the biggest smile from whom ever is working the counter that day. I go a good 2-3 times a month. The service is always above and beyond. My wife and I sometimes will sit outside with our pups and ask for plain fries for them. What a treat. We love how the staff makes you feel so comfortable to the point of being part of the family. These types of places are hard to come by. If in Beacon please stop by the local places and show them some love. I guarantee they will show the love back.

What a fantastic addition to the local eating scene. Absolutely wonderful Afghan food. Authentic and fresh.Great service with a smile. Very reasonable prices. We have been waiting for this place to open, and it is sooooo good. A few tables, if you want to eat in. Pleasant and clean interior. My new go to place; I had the chicken and veggie rice bowl, and a piece of delish baklava.

Great fast casual restaurant. I have gone with my partner, my parents, and my in laws! We all loved the burgers. They are perfectly seasoned and unique in their own sense for burger as I have had nothing similar to it. The masala fries are incredible too! Service is your standard pay at the register and sit down. You can finish your meal with a delicious dessert like Baklava.

Love a casual food spot with decent prices, a simple menu and delightful flavors. Tried the burgers and fries and were very happy with them both. Staff was friendly and helpful with my questions. Ambiance is a bit sterile but appreciate a clean place so its a plus to me.

Great burgers, good prices, the staff is very friendly and the ambiance gives a groovy restaurant vibe. I'll definitely be back!

    Eggplant Rice Bowl

Nansense serves something for everyone. The menu has vegetarian options which is great for someone like me who was looking for something clean, flavorful and vegetarian to eat. I got the eggplant rice bowl which was absolutely delicious and fresh. The masala fries are a must try as well. The service is amazing and the ambiance is just right. The prices are more than affordable for the quality and flavor of the food. Not to mention their rose mint lemonade is the best I've had yet.

We do not live locally however have returned multiple times for this wonderful addition to Beacon. The service is kind and the offerings are flavorful and authentic, we have yet to have the pleasure of finding the rice pudding available and will keep trying!

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

We shared the Butter and Blue salad, really well done. The fusilli Ferretto with lamb ragu was one of the best meals I've had in months. The homemade pasta was al dente and the lamb ragu was fragrant and meaty and rich. Perfect on a particularly cold evening. Liz had the sea bass and raved about it. We shared a bottle of Madonna Dell Donno Barolo wine which was probably not the best choice for the sea bass but was an outstanding match for the lamb ragu. The cocktails and dessert were also perfectly done!

Great service and friendly staff at this Sri Lankan restaurant…read more The manager/owner used to be a chef at the UN after traveling the world for various stints after leaving Sri Lanka at age 25. He will fill you with his wealth of knowledge of Sri Lankan food as well as how his food is pure and wholesome. Food was very good. I had Sri Lankan rice entree specialty dish. Except for the the shrimp tasting like dried shrimp - which I hate with a passion the rest of the dish was pretty good. No complaints from my other guests who enjoyed their meals. The dessert was great. They have both vegetarian (including goat, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, and chicken) and non-vegetarian options. It fell short of five stars for two reasons: 1. the dried shrimp or dried fish taste in the dish (shimp, calamari, and chicken); and 2. the moderately high prices (I can only compare to prices at Indian restaurants in the city, and what people are typically paying for the same portion size at casual sit down restaurants) Since we don't frequent this location often it is a treat to stop by every once in awhile and introduce my friends to it. If you are on a budget and consume large volumes of food to be full, this is most likely a one off or a place you may want to skip. Otherwise, enjoy it. On premise parking lot and seems ADA compliant. It looks like it is in a house, but inside it is comfortable and casual. It appears there is allot more local customers than visitors from out of town. The interior plays tourist information on Sri Lanka while the interior is also decorated in culturally appropriate ascents. We were there on a Saturday for dinner and the space was fairly empty - perhaps two other tables occupied. It is in sort of a remote area outside the main drag of Beacon most are familiar with (not within reasonable walking distance). It's worth a try, especially if you are interested in healthier forms of food (ingredients).

It may sound cheesy but it describes exactly the atmosphere of this place, a good time full of friendly people. It's a 2 two story building with plenty of seating. I have been here many a time where the upstairs is rented out for a private event. They also have two outside decks full of tables and chairs which is perfect to sit at when the weather is nice. And trust me when the weather is nice this place is packed!!!! The food here is delicious. In the warmer months they have a pizza food truck that comes. The pizza is sooo good my favorite is one they sell that has a white sauce on it instead of marinara it is delicious. The brewery itself makes small bites and has a few sandwiches that come with a bag of potato chips. They are also good. Last time we came our friends got the meatball sub and it was huge!!! They said it was amazing. They have a great selection of beers including IPAs, Stouts, Sours, and Ciders. I will say this brewery is what kindled my love for Sour beers. They have one that tastes like a red Starburst, so yummy! They also have non alcoholic beer and spirits on their menu. The staff is also friendly. I have seen them frazzled a time or two when it's really busy which is understandable. All in all it's good service both bar tenders and other staff that is working hard cleaning up tables ams sweeping to make sure the tables are ready for the next round of people. Also to note this is not table service. You go to the bar and order your food and either pay there or open a tab. They then bring out your food to you. You can also get beers to take home and other merchandise such as shirts, jackets, and some packaged food items. It very family friendly! Every time I come I see tons of families here, which is nice. Oh and the last thing to note the bathrooms are always clean!!! Which is something I really appreciate about any place that is serving food and drinks.

What makes this establishment so memorable and so sought after? Let me count thy ways. Hudson Valley awaits at the end of Beacon's Main Street, a fitting finale to a day spent ducking in and out of shops. Its wide open spaces and available sitting is a welcome sight for sore feet. Its diverse array of drinks, from wines to beers to sours, will quench any type of thirst. My drink of choice are their sours, and as someone who previously did not like these kinds of drinks, I was thoroughly converted. Perfect for people who don't like beers, their sours are berry-forward with a tartness that cuts through the sweet flavors. It's so good, I even lugged a six-pack home all the way to the train and back to the city! You simply cannot visit Hudson Valley Brewery without trying their pizza. It's one of my favorites. Cooked in an outdoor brick oven, their pizzas are charred to perfection; their crust thin yet provides a satisfying substantial bite; and their pie topped with ooey gooey cheese. Although I don't doubt that anything you order will be delicious, I have tried their sausage and pepper pizza, as well as their margherita, and can attest to how delicious they are. If you're visiting Beacon, end your day here at Hudson Valley Brewery. It's the ideal last stop.
