No issues until we check in when the management claimed we can have the service dogs during our stay, caged or with us at all times. We of course had no idea of this last minute demand and do not have a cage nor have we ever been told by any other establishment to have our set iced dogs in crates if left unattended. We have travel from Colorado to Florida for almost a decade with our service k9's. Mind you we travelled 6 hours for this trip. Once in the room for the evening the only bed in the cabin was as broken. The bed frame was broken in two pieces and collapsing in the middle, rendering it unusable. We called/text the manager/owner at the time of the incident , 11pm and the number we were provided . We received no response or reply. We slept on the floor until the next morning and still no manager contacted us. We called again the next morning at 0800 and got the owner and told her the situation and we are checking out early because of the above. Her exact words were, "ok" "I'll send maintenance". We waited for maintenance and they never showed. We finally left. No offer for any compensation for our subpar accommodations, no apologies for the terrible experience. In fact we got charged for the entire stay!!! Of 2 days yet only stayed one horrible night. Just disgusted. They are not pet friendly as claimed and lack professionalism and a basic sense of duty to their business and customers. The management was informed via cell/text at the time of incident no response at anytime. We had to contact them. It's ironic management responded to this review faster then a call for late night service. At no time were we contacted back from management for the service/ maintenance issue.

First let me…read moresay that the cabin is BEAUTIFUL.. but.... the active stink bug infestation we encountered was not something we would expect at this level of cabin. I reached out to Watershed immediately upon arrival to notify them of the large amount of dead bugs we found when we inspected the cabin and were told - sorry for the inconvenience, the stink bugs are harmless and if you'd like we can send someone to come sweep up the dead bugs. They admitted that they set off several bug bombs and the many dead bugs we found were a result of that. They also went on to say that almost every home in the mountains has some sort of bug issue... The stink bugs we encountered were a huge problem and combatting them during our 9 day stay was horrifying. They were into everything and were everywhere. In and on the dishes, in our food, crawling on us while we were enjoying games or tv and at one point I had 1 stuck in my hair. Do better Watershed! If you can't rectify the issue then either don't rent the unit until the issue has been resolved or at the very least communicate this to the renter so they can make an informed decision about wanting to deal with a pest control issue. Sadly we were NOT given this choice. As a renter were expected to follow pages and pages of rules - but you NOT disclosing a pest control issue is not only unfair but shows the lack of respect you have for renters. Sadly, we ended up cutting our vacation early due to an issue that again was not communicated to us. We have been visiting the mountains for many years and have NEVER experienced a cabin with a bug problem until now.

It may be great in the summer but this is off season and there is none of that. The stables were open, but I saw no one. It's a one ply toilet paper inn. The bistro and bar they advertise has not been open since the pandemic. For breakfast you get a mini sausage and biscuit and a mini cup for coffee. Rooms do not have daily housekeeping. Worse yet, it is advertised as being in Bryson City, it is 8.3 miles away from the downtown area and activity. The doors to the lobby close at 6 PM. After that you are on your own.It also gives the feel of a motel, not a resort. Because we were so far away from the action, we ended up being in bed by 7 pm. There were too many winding roads to risk going to a bar or any other night life that far away. I do like something about this place. I could see it being a real neat resort. It is homey and has a nostalgic atmosphere. But during November it is bland. Maybe it's days gone by. Will I be back? Maybe in the summer. But it needs a better variety of breakfast food, a good restaurant and bar to survive.

The room and the bed are so comfortable I didn't want to leave. I lay in bed looking out the window at the lake and mountains and it made my heart sing. Me and my riding buddy camped here 2 nights while on a motorcycle ride in Nantahala. It is only 7-8…read moremiles from US-19/74, and there is a nicely stocked convenience store about 5 miles away on US28. It is a dry county, so bring your own booze! We took the area in the back where we were the only ones...it is tucked away from the semi-permanent RVs in the front, and has its own toilet. There are some fire pits and we made a fire every evening and again when we woke up. Nice to sit by the fire and warm ourselves given the 45F lows when we were there. Overall a nice campground, with a friendly and helpful owner. He brought us firewood, and even some ice from his home. The bath house was easily the cleanest I have seen anywhere! I will stay here again!
