Changed the pizza recipe been going for years never going back pizza is horrible inside changed

Hadn't been here in a while and was looking forward to the tasty thin-crust pizza I've remember of many decades...but it was quite disappointing. It is not like it used to be. The crust resembled a frozen thin-crust pie you can find in the local grocery and did not evoke memories of the pastry-style crust this place was always known for. Part of the issue was that they overcooked the pizza, contrary to my request for a 'lightly baked' pie. While they offered to remake it, who wants to sit around for another half-hour in a noisy and less-than-clean restaurant? The side salad was really quite tasty and for that, I'm giving them 2 stars. But I may not be going back. read more

It's been a long, long, long time since I've been to Nanuet Restaurant, decided to get two pies tonight. Remembering the gooey cheese and the tasty crust started thinking about my younger years going there every Friday night. I have to say things have gone downhill with this restaurant since then. Love the facelift it now has but the pies, they were horrendous. Bottom of both pies burnt, dry as as a fart, toppings wheres the toppings? So little of the sausage and onions we asked for. Very disappointed, crushed my wonderful memories and tastebuds. So sad . Yelp unfortunately won't let me give this restaurant zero stars bc that's what they deserve. The bar staff is incredibly rude. Also saw mice wriggling up wires behind bar last two times I was there. Not a good sign if mice are evident when people are around. Considering staff at Baily's is very nice, not sure why these folks are so obnoxious. Never again. I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

I tried calling several times to place an order, everything I was trying to order was off the menu. I had went on Google to look at the menu like anyone else would and apparently that menu was wrong .. it's wrong but is still up for everyone to view..? does not make sense to me and is just a hassle when trying to order. I was emailed the "real menu" and was still willing to callback a third time to order. However the menu was still wrong! Can someone update the menu so this isn't such a process to order food??? Not to mention the attitude that was given over the phone was just uncalled for. Went there for a quick lunch and i still cannot believe how nice the new owners have made the place, Sparkling clean on the inside and inviting atmosphere, No more sparkling ceilings and 40 year old furniture. No more tired and dont want to be there waitresses. The pizza is better than ever and the new and hugely expanded menu looked fantastic both on paper and on the plates we saw served. If you used to like this place before you will love it now. If you have never been there its a must. read more

My family and I have ordered to go a few times now and have eaten in. The pizza is the same delicious pizza my husband and I had growing up. The new entrees are tasty. The appys are good but they are stingy on the bread with the mussels. My one complaint is that despite our wait staff making note of special requests on two separate occasions (no balsamic on one dish the first time and regular salt instead old bay on fries the second), the kitchen staff ignored those requests. The remodeling of this restaurant is amazing! The place looks so much better! I have been back a few times since the reopening and been pleased each time. Service is pretty good when the restaurant isn't too crowded, but I have been here at busy times and it could take a while to get your food. For appetizer I recommend the pretzel bites! They are delicious!! The meatballs are also pretty good. The chicken parm pizza is so unique and really yummy! And of course the regular pizza is delicious too. I was curious to see whether or not the pizza would be the same as the old restaurant and it was! I have heard people say it's different but I honestly don't notice a difference. read more

Floated in after the takeover and wasn't expecting much. Holy $%#€, just GREAT. Nice people (and for Nanuet that's saying something),VERY nicely decorated. Great service. It's a nice "pub" atmosphere and I was looking for something different and ordered what they call BOLONESE! With hyphens in between each letter but my ADD prevents me from managing that on my cell phone. AMAZING!!! I mean, I can make tomato sauce with the best of em and,let's face it, pasta is pasta! Sat at the bar and was served by an absolutely delightful bartender named Colleen. Everything was incredible and the service and attention that Colleen gives her customers is among the very best! This is a solid Italian-American restaurant with excellent service, good prices and a nice atmosphere. Have eaten here twice in the last couple months while visiting family. Don't expect fine dining or a great beer or wine list. You will get a good meal at a decent price and hopefully leave happy! read more

One of our favourites! We usually get some wings, pizza and at least one of the specials. Wings are awesome and they are famous for the pizza for a reason. We've tried a few of the different egg roll specials and my favorite so far has definitely been the Stromboli ones but they have all been really great! I had a great time at this restaurant last night until the manager came running outside into the parking lot demanding extra money for their waitress when we already tipped her a good amount of money. For a manager to do that in front of other customers in the parking lot demanding more money is very immature and is not right. This place was good. Now it sucks. It's service is rude and disgusting. The chicken wings are good everything else sucks the pizza taste like cardboard. The old owners were much better and I miss them. This place sucks. When you call and they say 45 minutes and it turns into an hour and a half you know this place SUCKS. My favorite food from the old Nanuet Restaurant was their bacon and meatball pizza, and I finally got one to take out last night. I am so happy to say that it was exactly as I expected it to be! Crispy bacon, tasty meatball pieces, with just the right balance of sauce and cheese... and that crust... just like I remember it! I look forward to trying more from the menu next time - it looks as amazing as the newly made over restaurant. read more

This place has horrible service. From the hostess to the waitstaff. Took 10 mins to sit 2 people with plenty of open tables. When finally seated we were put in the loud bar area.. They could've asked if we wanted to be seated in the bar area. Waiter did bring our drinks right away but then took almost 10 mins to return to take our order. We ordered a small pizza with sausage & pepperoni and were told it will take 20-25 mins for the pizza to come out.. REALLY 20-25 minutes for a small pizza to come out. WHAT kind of pizza place is this. When the food did come out it was subpar at best. I say STAY AWAY from this place. I have been coming here for the past 45 years I hope to god tonight's dinner was a fluke and not the beginning to the end for the new owners. First the waitress gave the impression that she didn't care, second ordered the wings which I have gotten in the past and have been excellent we're obviously forgotten in the fryer and came out burnt and dried. For those who go there now that the pizza takes 25-30 minutes to cook, the wings which were ordered as an appetizer came out with the pizza. When brought to the waitress attentions her response was "OK". The pizza was not the same. There was no hardly any sauce and less cheese then normal. Hopefully it's a new cook. I will try again but if it's the same service and quality I will not be retuning. Such a shame read more

This restaurant, recently bought, renovated and opened by Bailey's Smokehouse is wonderful. The renovations are beautiful, the staff are wonderful and the food is delicious! We ordered a small pizza. Went here for Father's Day and everyone loved it!!! We had great pizza with a crispy crust. We tried the Korean bbq wings and loved them. They have a solid kids menu with big portions and the Corn soufflé was amazing - so excited that I can have it right here in Nanuet now! Came here for lunch with my brother. It wasn't busy which after eating here is a surprise. This was my first time back since Baileys took it over and remodeled it. They did a fantastic job doing so. Plenty of seating and the much needed update of the place came out amazing. One thing that caught my attention was that the kept some things from the old Nanuet Restaurant. I thought that was awesome considering they did have to do that. Very classy move on ownerships part. I ordered the French Onion soup and Garlic Parmesan wings. The soup came out first and it was really good. Not top 5 but good enough to order again. The wings came out with my brothers personal pie which he said was good. My wings came out looking like they were out of a culinary catalog. The best part about them is that they were DELICIOUS. Hands down some of the best wings I have ever had in my life. Next time I will be ordering regular buffalo wings to see how they come out. I would highly recommend this place. The staff is very helpful and genuinely nice. read more

Last minute decision to get some dinner. The place was very busy but the hostess was able to get us a table. She was very nice and attentive. We got a hi top in the bar area. Aaron the bartender was our server and bartender. One of the best Guinness pours I've had in awhile ( has asked my name and put my initial on the foam head). The bartenders Chris and Aaron always make me feel welcome when I'm in for happy hour, and the servers Kyle and Caesar have always treated me well when I'm with my family for dinner. The happy hour is great and the food is even better. Truly disappointed with this restaurant. We had a party of 8 people, told it would be a wait of roughly 5-10 minutes. We ended up waiting at the bar and ordered a few drinks until the wait time was over. Paid the tab off with a credit card. We ended up getting seated, was introduced about their specials and they received our orders within 10-15 minutes which was fairly great. Now the dreaded part was... we ordered mussels as an appetizer and a seafood pizza as our main course. Our waitress took our order but never came back to replenish our drinks or just to check on the table. She finally came by the table 45 minutes later to let us know that there was a problem with the mussels so it would be a while longer and never gave us an opportunity to just cancel the order in total. The mussels finally came out WITH the entree about 30 minutes later. The mussels were pretty decent whereas the fisherman's pie was not good at all, it completely lacked flavor and almost tasted under-baked. FINALLY, when it came to paying I provided my discover card, as I did at the bar earlier with no issue. We paid for everything, until a manager came back with the receipt after charging me and said that they do not accept discover cards and asked me for a different card. I had mentioned that I used it at the bar and everything was fine, then the manager proceeded to call over the bartender and waitress and reprimanded them in front of me which was quite uncomfortable. The waitress was in the verge of tears while the bartender just looked confused. She pushed for me to pay with another card with no guarantee that I would get my money back for what was already charged, which eventually I had to take matters into my own hands and call the credit card company because they charged my card four separate times even though there were only two transactions. When providing information regarding my credit card to the restaurant, the management took down even my security code (which is illegal!) which I asked countless times about. I've yet to receive my refund and don't ever, intend on going back to a restaurant that is poorly established. read more
