I had a bit of an unexpected experience here - I made an appointment and received a confirmation so that seemed fine. I arrive 10 min before my appointment time and actually called an hour before just to confirm. I arrive and the doors were locked. It was still half an hour before the location was supposed to close so I just kind of leaned against the wall outside since I came because I actually needed urgent care - I could hardly walk because I completely threw my back out. A man comes by and also tries to go in - he came out of an appointment a few hours before and the facility didn't send the pharmacy his medication at all. We both waited and I called Nao Medical customer service. Truly, customer service was amazing and they said they'd try to get ahold of this location because the location was literally still supposed to be open. Not five minutes later a lady comes to the door and opens it. She says "No we're closed, you need to leave and rebook". The other guy with me started to push back really hard because the medication was really important. I feel like even a vague sense of kindness would have been fine, but the abrupt turnaway and her locking the door back up in front of me with less than zero empathy had me a little teary eyed. I hobbled down the street a little ways before customer service called noting they weren't able to get ahold of them at all, the guy was really confused on what was happening - that dude was great and I was able to rebook for another location - I was half choked up from the rejection and back pain so it's a miracle he was able to hear me properly. Anyway, that's how I ended up traveling 4 more miles to another Nao Medical and FYI while they do take Cigna, they Don't take Cigna Essential Health so thank goodness for my HSA card having money on it instead but I should have just called my insurance's urgent virtual care and saved all the effort. Genuinely, I was really happy when this place first opened because it has nice branding, looks new and clean, and was really close to me. Really bummed it didn't work out well for me. read more

My experience with psychiatrist Mary Bernardo at Nao Medical felt rushed and unsafe. At my first visit, I shared my past Spravato experience, but instead of exploring my symptoms, the dose was reduced immediately. At the second visit, she lowered both my lithium and bupropion, even though I explained my long history with clonazepam and two difficult detox attempts in the past. By the third visit, she wanted me to stop my 0.5 mg afternoon dose of clonazepam, even though I take 0.5 mg three times a day and have been on it for over 20 years. Skipping a dose occasionally did not mean I was ready to discontinue that fast. When I paused to understand these rapid changes, my care was terminated without a transition plan, leaving me at risk of running out of medication. Im sharing this review so others can do their own research. The billing dept said i owe $121 because my insurance "paid it, but then took it back". Doesn't sound right. When I said that I am not calling my insurance company to dispute and it was just a covid test in NYC which I was told would be no cost out of pocket, they said "Ok we'll check on this for you and let you know next month if you have a balance". Finally see the "dr", I highly doubt she's a doctor. A blind person could see the swelling of my hand a mile away. The "dr" actually said, "what do you want me to do?" After having someone print out a referral for me for an X-ray... I dunno!? Maybe splint my hand or do something to limit mobility and protect it from being banged or tugged when changing!? Im in pain. And also, when she finally glanced at my chart she recognized a medication but it isn't what she said it was for. The first part of being a doctor is having a good bedside manner. This fraud that walked in the door with her attitude and her makeup and her do nothing attitude is not fit to be a doctor. I will never be returning to this place of business. I've been going to them since March 2020 and they've always disappointed. Not in the medical service, no. their Dr.'s are fine. But the staff is disorganized and ineffective. Listen I know things are out of control but there has to be a better more productive way of running business. People that don't have appointments to get tested are waiting in line for over hours. Then they'll get sent away due to lunch just to come back and be waiting again. I understand things are busy but it's winter. People are going to get sick from simply standing outside. When you finally get in the doors it takes 2 minute tops to do a test so why are we waiting hours to be seen? Something doesn't feel right. The woman out front is awful. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE COVID-19 and PLAGUE. They are thieves. Trust me you don't want to walk in here. You are better served by burning cash. I had chosen this place for my immigration physical. They have very competitive rates. And are a short drive from home. Sounds like a sweet deal. It wasn't. Everything was smooth until the time they drew my blood and set an appointment with the Physician. It was originally scheduled for the Wednesday of the following week. On Tuesday, I get a call and they say its moved to Thursday. I understand things happen, there are emergencies, etc. I said thank you for informing me and changed my plans accordingly. On Wednesday, I get a call saying that now my appointment was moved to the following week. I called and explained that this is unacceptable. You cannot keep on moving me around as you please. Nowadays, medical centers have this policy of charging fees if we cancel within 48 hours. So, what about them changing the appointments within 48 hours? Shouldn't this policy be reciprocal? Anyways, moving on. So, the person understood and put me back into my original appointment. Now, mind you, this is Wednesday Evening. My appointment was less than 24 hours away. On Thursday morning, I get a text message saying that my appointment was for Thursday noon. WTF! You cannot tell me at 8:00 am that my appointment is supposed to be at 12:00 pm! I tried to talk to them. Either restore my original appointment on Thursday evening or refund my money. I am at work during the day. And this is complete Bullshit. I was told that they would get back to me regarding the refund. 11:45 am rolls by and I get a message saying that I should be ready for the call with the Physician. So, I make adjustments at work, because I cannot miss this and then them having a weapon of me missing the appointment. After a couple of days, I call in to check on the results. Did I mention that they do not answer phones? And if you call in, they have a 10-minute voice message. And then it takes another 15 minutes for the call center to answer which is located in Asia and then they again put you on hold for 10 minutes before the person in Brooklyn gets to the phone? Anyways, moving on. So, they ask me to call back on Saturday. I call them, again the same time wasted phone hold. Then they tell me that they would call me back in the evening. They do not call, so I call them before they close. I am informed that the lab didn't do bloodwork which they were supposed to do and I had already paid for. They ask me to come again on Monday. I ask them for an appointment. They said that I should walk-in and they would take me in right away. Shocking news: Right away for them means 1-hour wait. I am not kidding. After 1 hour wait, they take blood and send me on my merry way. I get my test result and I am a happy camper. I was not going to leave a review as I only leave bad reviews when a service forces me to. Guess what? Like all the shady medical practices, I get a bill for the blood test that I had already paid for and them having taken blood for twice. So, I call them, again -- no answer to the local extension -301 and going through 25 minutes of wait music which is a horrible chest thump of them having done COVID tests. I finally get to someone, who tells me that I should send the bill to them and they will review IF I should be charged for the test or not. Are you kidding me? You want to review if I should be liable for the test I paid for the first time and you guys screwed up? Horrible place. Horrible practice of screwing over patients. AVOID I tried to call them today, the lady at front desk answered the 301 extension. Without learning about my issue, she just told me to call the lab. When I explained that they should be the ones to call and clear out the misunderstanding as they have received the payment from me, but they haven't paid the lab, she just put me on hold for 20 minutes. Enough for me to drive down there. When I went in, she started making excuses about how busy they were. So, from her explanation, they were so busy that she could do other menial things, but to clarify the bill I wrongfully received. When I pressed for an answer, they asked me to leave. Please be aware when going into this place and ensure that you are receiving the right results. I went in for a Rapid Covid test and was informed that my results would be posted through the Patient Portal as I had made the appointment online. Apparently if you walked in, they printed the results. I did not receive the results within the time I was told so I inquired on it. Finally received a message that my results would be posted shortly as a provider needed to review first. I also received a call that my results have been reviewed and will be posted within 30 mins. I received a message that my results were ready and when I went in to check, it was the test results from a year ago. I did the rapid test on 12/20/21 but they posted the results of July 2020. The PDF file even had the July date on it. Send a follow up message and did not hear back. Reached out to Statcare via their chat. After 4 days, they tell me my results are unavailable and I should go to re swab. This answer came after reaching out to them daily and finally getting fed up that I would report them for posting false results. It is pretty clear that they lost my test results and I'm not surprised because the office was unorganized and the employees looked overwhelmed. What is upsetting is that Statcare knew they lost my results and tried to pass on old result under the new. I went here for other issues rather than a covid test and there were no real problems. However the last time I went for a covid test, I ask for a PCR & a rapid because I needed it for work. I got the rapid test back without an issue (portal & call), but I had to give up on the PCR & got it done somewhere else. I waited the three days, then I waited the ten days, still nothing. I tried to get a person on the phone to see if they misunderstood and just did the rapid test, but the phone system only lets you leave a message if it relayed to covid results. I found this place online and went without reading any of the yelp reviews and was kind of skeptical at first because they claim they have someone there that could handle literally anything from DOT physicals to X-rays. The place is clean, freshly painted, and fairly modern. The employees for the most part speak English and in my opinion weren't rude. Same doctor each visit. In and out. This place is a fraud. It consistently engages in business malpractice. This should be reported to the Attorney General of NY state for running a sham of a practice. Their machines are faulty, the receptionist is incompetent and they charge you for a free exam. This chain lists false information on its website. They're a complete fraud. They'll also refuse to reimburse you if they're incompetent and fail at providing the service. The doctor/receptionist can't even read the records you send them. On their website, they state that they have X-rays available but not when you ask them in person. They apparently have increased their price for services but have not updated that on their website. They're covered by your insurance but they won't use it so that they don't get picked up on the medial system. The board should cancel its operational license as they're running a scam. What a trap! I am not overly happy or disappointed with my visit at this clinic. Just medium satisfied. The thing is that I made a 1:15pm appointment and that was delayed an hour because walk-ins were seen before me. In that case, I don't get why you should make an appointment at all if you're just seen in the order you arrive. I also got quite severe bruising after my blood test. That has never happened to me before. The staff was nice though but the facility itself needs a facelift. I have another visit scheduled so hopefully I can upgrade to 4 stars if it will run more smoothly. Another thing, I don't like being handed a receipt without a breakdown of what I've paid for... Edit: my second visit was very smooth and pleasant. My civil surgeon visit took 5 minutes and I was out of the door in no time with all the papers I needed. Dont go here if you need covid results for travel. I made an appt for my mom for Aug 11 at 740. She left work early to go and they told her that her appt wasn't "confirmed" and no doctors were around. I showed them the confirmation email and they said that it didnt exist in their system, even though I could see it in the portal. I suspect that the people working left early and didnt want to stay for the last appt. So the front desk told her to return at 9am the next day. She did, taking off of work for another 2 hours. Fast forward to today, Astorias stat care has no record of this 9am appt and no results. They have no idea how to find the results. How is this possible?!?! My mom got two swabs taken for no reason. Now, a day before her flight, she has to take off a full day of work to go to a different stat care location that might be able to get her results immediately. The stress this has caused is insane!!! THREE DAYS of work were sacrificed to get results. Three. and im not sure that she'll even get them in time for her flight. This place is a shitshow and I'm currently trying to get the names of the people responsible for it. Who was the staff person who turned my mother away the first appointment and then told her she had a 9am appointment but somehow didnt put it in the system? I want names. I would give zero stars if possible. Their system allowed us to book a 4.45 appt on Sunday evening and when we showed up, with the confirmation, they said they don't take any patients after 4.40. Their doctor/ PA did not follow COVID protocol. AT ALL. Avoid this place if you are at all nervous about COVID. For a place that does a large amount of testing for COVID and as an urgent care that possibly sees patients with active COVID infections, you would think the treating physicians there would be very serious about protecting themselves and others from COVID. Let me be clear. The reception staff and assistant/nurse who took my vitals, followed protocol perfectly. My issue is solely with the doctor/PA that "treated" me during my visit. I came to the urgent care because I was having a reoccurrence of what was previously diagnosed as pink eye. I am not a doctor so I sought out StatCare because I've just moved to the area. I was previously seen at another urgent care and since it is inconvenient to return to the previous location, I went to StatCare instead. Big mistake on my part. To make a long story short, the doctor/PA did not wear his mask correctly throughout the visit and even, at one point, had it tucked under his chin. I spent 2 hours at StatCare and after the visit I arrived to the pharmacy to find out i was prescribed saline eye drops, not a prescription. Unbelievable, honestly. So, if you want to keep you and your loved ones safe, maybe it's ok to spend a few minutes here to get tested, but there are other urgent care centers in the area that do follow COVID protocol. read more

I went in and they did the necessary testing, but then the "provider" refused to sign the form stating that only an MD could sign the form. Of course that's not true. I went to another place with the test results and and a very capable PA filled out and signed the form. The next day, I heard from some administrator from statcare/Nao medical again stating that the form could only be signed by an MD. Just incompetence. read more

If you are going to this facility for COVID-related reasons, I highly recommend avoiding it! - Yesterday I found out there was a good chance I had COVID due to a fever and exposure to others. I tested positive on a home test. - I went to Statcare for a Rapid Antigen and PCR Test. - The practitioner barely swabbed my nose for the rapid antigen (she did not administer it right, I am sure of it). It was negative, although I was pretty sure I was infected. - The PCR test also seemed to be done incorrectly. Swab was in my nose for maybe a quarter second. - I received a call after about 30 hours (not bad), but missed it. It was clearly going to be my PCR results. - I went to my online portal: results were not there. - I call into the office. They tell me "they were probably trying to call me about my PCR results" -- but they can't actually put me on the phone with the person who would tell me, nor can they themselves tell me. Therefore, my PCR results are being held hostage as I'm trying to confirm I have COVID. - She explained I can "just come in" for the results. Why would anyone encourage this? - Despite my suspected COVID, I walked a half mile to this office for my results (absurd) - That's when I received another negative test, but I was so sure that this was incorrect. I went down the street to a free testing center, where they were able to confirm within moments that I am indeed POSITIVE for COVID. They also conducted a PCR, which confirmed these results. - Due to this office's negligence, I could have been unaware that I have the virus. Thankfully due to the professionalism of OTHER offices, I can confirm this and begin my treatment of Paxlovid. Avoid at all costs. read more

What is is the point of being an urgent walk in center if you can't help someone who walks half hour before closing? I work at a medical office myself and walk in patients are ALWAYS accepted even if it's 10 minutes BEFORE closing! AND I ONLY NEEDED TESTING which takes less than 10 minutes. Such a frustrating and disappointing experience. Not only were they unprofessional and the front desk unkind, they also did not treat my illness correctly according to my PCP. I stopped by here because I was feeling sick the night before going away on a business trip. They ran some labs and the doctor told me since I was going to be out of town when my results came back, I should call them in two days to get my results. I called two days later and the woman that answered the phone notified me that she couldn't give me my results over the phone. I explained that the doctor specifically told me to call because she knew I'd be away. I asked to speak to a doctor and the woman said absolutely not. I tried calling back a few hours later to see if I could get in contact to someone more reasonable - but I got the same woman on the line and as soon as I repeated my situation to her she hung up on me!! The entire week I was on my business trip I was feeling really sick and I wasn't able to find out what exactly was wrong because Statcare wouldn't tell me! Eventually, I came back to get my test results and they just handed me a piece of paper with no context about what these results actually mean!. - I'm not a doctor! I don't know what any of that means obviously. I asked for clarification on what it meant and they said I needed to make an appointment with the doctor for clarification. Eventually I saw a doctor. I paid a copay for a 30 second appointment where the doctor was like "you have a ____ infection, but your body probably fought off most of it on its own since it's been a week. I'll prescribe you antibiotics for 3 days though" This is completely something they could have done over the phone an entire week ago! I was furious to hear this. I had been sick for an entire week while they'd already known my results and what the solution should be. Rather than telling me this over the phone and prescribing me antibiotics immediately, they forced me to come in person and schedule another appointment - presumably so that I'd need to pay for another visit in order to get my test results. A few days later, I was eventually able to get an appointment with my primary doctor who said that it was incredibly dangerous that Statcare withheld time sensitive information like this for over a week rather than simply prescribing me the necessary antibiotics immediately. He said I was lucky I didn't get even more sick from having to wait a week without treatment. Even more surprising - he said it was absolutely ridiculous that they'd only prescribed me 3 days worth of antibiotics. He said that for the infection I had, 7-10 days worth of antibiotics are required. Never ever coming back here. They clearly care more about making money than about patients health. I've been to a different urgent care in the area since then and not only is the office cleaner and more high tech, but they give you test results OVER THE PHONE and immediately prescribe you medicine WITHOUT FORCING YOU TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY ON ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. Edit: Ok tbh I never realized the business owner responded to my review all those years ago until I looked them up on Yelp today and it made me angry all over again lol. I've gone to statcare since this review and still stand by my review. Business owner's response to my review years ago was incredibly rude and their policy to not give medical results over the phone would have been fine if it was discussed before hand but did not reflect what the doctor told me when I was very clear that I would be traveling and led to me dealing with an untreated condition for an entire week. And giving someone medical test results without explaining what they mean is still irresponsible. I've never been to a doctor that just handed me medical results without explaining what they mean and if I hadn't asked they would have let me walk out the door without asking if I wanted to see a doctor for clarification. Instead of trying to remedy the situation, I was told by the owner my account of what happened was "convenient and inaccurate" as if she was in the room with me when this happened. She was not. In any case, I've been to statcare many times since then and the business owner's rude and combative response pretty much reflects the entire experience here.
