I was very surprised by the negative reviews, as our experiences at this location have consistently been positive. A few years ago, we brought my son in and the staff quickly recognized that he had pneumonia. They were thorough, attentive, and would not allow us to leave until they arranged a transfer to Elmhurst ER, which I truly appreciated. During what was a very stressful and scary situation as a parent, they took the time to explain everything clearly and made my son feel calm, safe, and comfortable. On another visit with my youngest child, we again received excellent care. The staff was kind, patient, and reassuring, and we never felt rushed. This location is also never busier than expected, and the registration process is always quick and efficient, which makes a big difference when you're there with a sick child. Overall, we've felt well cared for each time and wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

CAREFUL - FRAUD! The Jackson Heights location charged me three times for my copay and will not refund my money. The first card they said was declined was in fact charged, as was the second card we "tried;" then I handed them cash. I've sent emails, receipts, been on the phone with billing rep's and local receptionists, working to get my money back for over a week now and no one will grant me a refund. Getting tested for Covid-19 in New York can mean a hellacious multi-hour long wait, only to be told you didn't make the cutoff for the day. Modern MD's virtual queue takes the physical waiting out of the equation and allows you to essentially get an appointment to get tested. I've used the virtual waitlist twice now and have only needed to wait a couple of hours before I received a call to return to the office for my test. They offer both rapid and regular PCR tests, and both times I've chosen the more accurate PCR test and got my results back in 1 day via an online portal. The process couldn't be simpler. I have not felt great about the cramped waiting area, as many other reviewers note, but more alarming is the fact that several staff members remain unmasked at the office. From what I've been told, even if they have been vaccinated it's still unknown whether they can still carry the virus, so masking should still be required. It's funny because there are signs all over the office that state that they enforce a mask requirement. They don't. Fortunately I've never had to linger long in the waiting area or around unmasked staff, but it's not exactly a sign of care you'd want from an urgent care facility. read more

I brought my father here last night as it was discovered he had shingles. This urgent care was the closest and was still open at the time. I would stay far away from this place - the PA (Radik murdakhayev) had terrible bedside manners, came into the room for not even a minute and insincerely asked what he can do for my father, I said he has a suspected case of shingles, he asked my father to lift up his shirt (and jokingly asked my father to show his six-pack (my father is overweight)) and while he saw the rash, he did not examine the rest of my father's body, did not ask about when it might have occurred or asked anything else about his health situation, and when prescribing the Valtrex med, did not bother to ask what other medications he was on to see if there were any interactions. When I brought it up, he was like yeah, I'll check as he was already walking out the door after not even less than a minute of his "examination" of my dad. The receptionists out front had no clue what they are doing, had to wait an additional ~20 minutes for the prescription to be sent to the pharmacy because the PA was on to his next patient. The low stars are just due to their lack of thought behind their covid screening process. People have to wait 2+ hours for a 15 min rapid test. My recommendation is that if people want their results within those 15 mins have them wait outside to be given those results while the next group comes in for rapid testing. Having patients wait hours for something that is suppose to take less than 30 mins is mind blowing. The line basically reaches the corner on most days - with the change in weather they're only leaving those that are ill out in the cold longer. A little common sense could go a LONG way . Had to come back and update this as my pregnant partner has been waiting at this point 3 hours outside in the FREEZING cold for a 15 min rapid test. RIDICULOUS !!!! The waiting room has 1 person in it and the people working the front walked away while there's a line of people that have been waiting 3 hours already - instead of getting 2-3 more people in (socially distanced) they disappeared- seriously ? read more

EXCELLENT, professional experience. My friend Laura and I visited this morning to get rapid COVID tests (free w/ insurance), as a precaution before vacationing with some friends. We arrived at 8am when the facility opened, and it was empty. Felt very new and clean. The receptionist helped us get registered quickly, and we were in exam rooms within 10 minutes. My PA Shantae was extremely friendly, personable and efficient! She made the whole experience very pleasant. The test itself took one minute. Because the waiting room was empty, Laura and I opted to wait there for our results, which took 20 minutes. Thank you, Modern MD! Glad to have you in the neighborhood. After a positive at home Covid test I went to this location for treatment. not only did they give me the same test I took at home but the doctor didnt even examine me. After they refused to give me the results and letter for my employer I left and the doctor chased me out the door yelling at me down the street. Then they called my phone to further berate me. I have been feeling sick since yesterday evening with various symptoms including fever. I showed up for an appointment at 4:30, the clinic closes at 6:30... they refused to see me unless I had cut my finger or had slipped and fallen. Unfortunately my test result came back abnormal (bacterial pneumonia infection) and the practice did not call me about it. I had to call them, and it was hard to get a physician on the line to explain my test results and treatment. Not good. This practice basically failed at the one, very routine, thing it was supposed to do. read more

I suspected a possible allergic reaction with worrying symptoms and wanted to ease my mind. I also get anxious and very erroneously told them that, because they latched onto that and WOULD NOT LET GO. Paid out the nose to have the doctor literally tell me, "it might be anxiety or it might not." He was adamant that there was no possible way that what I had was an allergic reaction. I didn't get any kind of exam except for basic vitals and they seemed to really want me out as soon as possible (it was the end of the day, so I guess they just wanted to phone stuff in at that point). I ended up feeling like I was crazy by the time I left. Went to my primary care physician today, turns out that it was an allergic reaction, so, yeah, thanks a lot, ModernMD. They did something illegal when I came in for a visit. They did not ask for me to sign a consent form for a medical test they sent to a lab. I was billed for the test, an unexpected medical bill. This is against federal law. When I called ModernMD to contest this, they argued with me and then hung up on me. read more

I have had several decent experiences here -- up until my last time. I have called the billing department several times beginning in July regarding my visit on 5/30/18. I was charged $75 which I put on my Visa ending in 4370. When I received my EOB from Aetna, it only reflected $25. On July 18th I faxed over my (1) receipt for $75 payment, (2) Aetna EOB, (3) Credit Card statement. I was told my fax was received and I would receive a call back the following week. I received no calls or messages. On 7/30, I called again and was told I'd receive a call back by end of day 8/1. I have attempted to call back several times since then and left messages. No one has contacted me or resolved my issue and I'm out $50. read more

I will never in my life everrrrr come back to this place and I don't recommend anyone to go there. Let me start by saying the front desk lady was extremely nice. When they called me in the back to check my temperature, the equipment was broken, no problem the FIRST nurse walked me to the other room which I am okay doing. Now when the so call doctor come in AMEET KUMAR (I say so call because he wasted my time and money) he asked me what was the reason for me coming. I told him and all he did was ask me to cough and said I have bronchitis then told me he will prescribe me to antibiotics. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR ANTIBIOTICS DO NOT HELP CURE BRONCHITIS. Literally i spoke to this man for 2 mins for him to not help and it didn't make things better my copay was 60 bucks which i am okay paying if you're not bullshitting me. Your waitlist is not functioning. I signed up and got a message which read "go now and you're next". When I arrived I waited two hours. I should have known better, I thought it was a fluke. Then I went again today: I'm feeling sick with covid symptoms. I sat down and waited and Kimberly told me it was going to be another hour after the thirty minutes I had already waited. I said, "the system said to come cause I was next" she said no, it says come and the wait cause there are other people ahead of you". So. I left. I'm sick with what I fear is covid. I teach in a school and now either have to take the day off and lose the income or go in symptomatic?? I'm not waiting in a crowded room for two hours. Second time coming here. The wait isn't too long. It's a decent place to go. The doctor gave me what I needed to get better, but not before saying I need to see an endocrinologist because I could have thyroid cancer...I came there with inflammation and needed immediate help before I could get in to see a specialist doctor. I mentioned that I'm worried about my thyroid health. The last thing a person needs is to hear the word cancer when they're worried about their health. It only added to my anxiety about my health concerns. I left there with more anxiety about my health than I came in with. I won't be going back because obviously this isn't a place that eases your health anxieties. It only makes them worse. read more

I received the worst service of my life at this Urgent care. I went on a Saturday morning and they were extremely understaffed. Only had one doctor in and it took 4 hours for an x-ray and a sprained ankle (or so they said). It turned out to be a fracture, but because of swelling it went misdiagnosed. The health care provider was extremely unhelpful and unpleasant. I received a ace bandage for the sprain. When I expressed that I could not put any pressure on my ankle the doctor then told me to "stay off" my foot; keep in mind this ModernMD was in the middle of Brooklyn, NYC. I tried to stay off my foot as much as possible but say the least, my ankle did not heal right. In addition to the terrible service and misdiagnosis, I still get monthly collection calls from MondernMD saying I owe more money. I paid my co-pay when I left and I paid an additional bill I got in the mail, regardless of these payments, I still get these annoying collection calls. After this experience, I recommend that if you hurt yourself in the city and need an urgent care you stay as far away from ModernMD as possible. read more

I was really happy to see that something like this opened up around the corner from me. It's a pretty nice facility and modern indeed. It seems to be kept very clean. Let's hope it stays that way. I went in for a minor issue. Front desk was very friendly. 30 minutes later, I was called in for intake. The very kind male nurse was kind but I'm going to bet I knew more about my condition than he did. Modern MD, you boast short wait times but I sat in the room after vitals for another 30 mins. Went twice. First time the rapid test wait wasn't too bad. After my test I had the choice of staying for my results in the waiting room or getting them on the online portal. Now they make you wait for the results in the back but that also means they only call a new patient in every 20 minutes. It's crazy. I felt like I would get COVID in the waiting room since it's packed and the receptionists don't enforce social distancing. Overall I waited two hours just to be seen. So ridiculous -- if the point of rapid tests is to make it convenient so people are incentivized to get tested more frequently, making people wait 2 hours in a small waiting room is definitely not the way to do it. read more

I woke up with horrible stomach pains and after contacting my Pcp and finding out that her office was closed I decided to try city MD... and im glad I did!!! I walked in and got serviced IMMEDIATELY !! the staff was friendly and polite... they made sure I was comfortable plus the facility was clean... I didn't have a long wait before seeing a doctor and I LOVE that they gave me medication to ease my pain.. this place was a LIFE SAVER !!!!! I went to Urgent Care on a Sunday afternoon and put my name on the wait list. I was seen 15 minutes before closing. The Dr, a male Indian, discharged me without any physical exam or listening to my symptoms and medical history. By Tuesday, I was rushed to the hospital, where I spent a week in CCU and almost died. The notes from my urgent care appointment read "gastritis". Instead, I was in critical condition and ended up having a heart monitor implanted. read more

I don't usually use Yelp to publish reviews but I am going to now because I need people to know not to come here. I only came here and didn't go to CityMD because they opened at 8 while CityMD opens at 9. Big mistake. My usual 30 minute trip became a 2 hour long slog while all I saw was lackadaisical people everywhere. There is no urgency at this urgent, ironically enough. All for an (ironically enough) Rapid COVID test that I am still waiting on the results of. There is no sense of care or urgency here and that is unacceptable to me. People will be late to school or work in a very busy time of the year and will be late in general. No one will be benefitting from the truancy and lag that this Urgent Care has. I do not hold in ill will towards the individuals working here, I just hope that the speed can pick up here. Urgent Cares and facilities that test for COVID-19 have become a huge part of our lives these last almost two years and I do not feel bad in demanding better from a place whose job it is to help take care of people in a very hard time. This is the worst Urgent Care I've ever experienced! The doctor Shamara Alterno who seen my 6yr old child seemed very annoyed with her job. From the minute she stepped in the room she did not even greet us in any type of pleasant way, she looked and was speaking to me as if she was very annoyed! The nurse who came in before the doctor took a PCR Covid and RSV test, a short while later she came back and told me that she was also going to take a rapid RSV, Covid and Flu Test. The Doctor came in and gave me the results for the rapid RSV test, so I asked what are the results for the other 2 test that the nurse took.. She looked annoyed and rudely told me "that's the only test". I started to tell her the nurse told me that she took 3 rapid test in total, she cut me off and said there's a 15min time period for her to see each patient. I told her she seems annoyed and I don't know if she had a long day but I came in for the concern of my Daughter! She left out the room and came back in with a nebulizer machine and handled it very roughly to the point where the child mask fell on the floor and all the other parts that belonged to the machine. I have never went to a urgent care and have been dealt with like this. If you don't like your job; find one that you would enjoy because this is the worst hospitality I've ever experienced especially coming in for a 6yr old child! I will make sure to tell everyone I know to never come to this Urgent Care so they won't have to experience such horribleness that myself and my 6yr old sick child had to experience! I was here on NYE a few minutes before closing, all the staff was talking instead of testing people this went on for minutes before they remembered they had people to test Now I understand why it took so long for me to get called in to get tested, I waited 6 hrs with some minutes to get told to come in and when I did I was there for another hour and a couple minutes. I brought my 5yo daughter here yesterday because she had a fever and was feeling under the weather. The staff are very friendly and nice. The girl nurse that did our intake was very professional and nice. I want to thank Dr. Rogers for being so kind, professional and nice. He made my daughter feel very comfortable, and included her in his exam. He explained everything to me and also explained everything to my daughter. He let her know everything he was gonna to do before he did it. She felt very comfortable and I couldn't ask for a much better experience. My family and I appreciate everything you all do. Facilities are clean and the waiting room is nice. I waited for 20 minutes after turning in my info before the front desk called me up - pretty normal. Rooms in the back are basic, clean, and well kept. Front desk people did their job fine enough and were attentive. The nurse who saw me first put all her notes on a post-it, but still did the job fine enough. My complaint was lack of bedside manner and communication on the part of my doctor (who was a physician's assistant). When I said I thought I had strep she looked and spoke to me with skepticism, not care. She made me feel like a teenager trying to skip school, not a grown adult in pain. She went through all the diagnostic steps with a very basic demeanor but without communicating the steps (which every good dr I've ever had has done in the past, regardless of how many times they thought I'd gone through it). The big thing that really made me uncomfortable: she put on her stethoscope and then yanked up the back of my shirt without telling me she was going to do so. Yes, I know the procedure of checking the lungs, but you need to tell your patients that you're going to be exposing and touching their skin before you do it. Even if that's your job, you need to tell them. It made me feel upset - I should've told her, but I'm sick and not in the mind to confront people. Also, I shouldn't have to. She then continued to check my throat with a swab but without telling me with her words - Instead when she wanted me to lift my chin she just moved my chin, rather than telling me what to do. I finally said "what do you want me to do?" And then she proceeded to explain herself with attitude, as if me asking for communication was a childish request. Communication is something which any medical professional should be doing from the get-go, NOT after your patient complains. It wasn't until after she saw the puss in the back of my throat that she started to explain things to me with any kind of care in her voice. And after the results came back positive, then her demeanor became more sweet - more like what she should've been doing from the start. I guess I had to *earn* the care of my doctor. The payment of $70 upfront wasn't enough. I get that everybody has bad days, but a doctor's job is to care and make people feel cared for. I did not feel cared for. For $70, this was not a good experience. Next time I will make the trek into midtown to see my PC at NYU Langone. read more

I had a lovely experience at Modern MD. I had mastitis which set in at 7pm. All the GYN offices in Brooklyn were closed, and other urgent care centers told me that women's health was not covered (which seems crazy). Modern MD saw me the same evening, and a very knowledgable doctor was able to prescribe me antibiotics to the 24 hour pharmacy that their office identified. Went in late for my drug test, not slightly late, numerous hours late. Helpful lady at the desk contacted her manager which approved me giving it one go which they did NOT have to do. They could have easily sent me on my way and told me come back tomorrow. My employer only gave me a short window to get it done. They took care of my paperwork, and i did what i had to do. Everyone knew what they were doing. Extremely professional, respectful and we had a good laugh or two about the situation :D. Came in cause my doctor was on vacation for another 2 weeks. I was advise to go to an Urgent Care. So rather then traveling an hour into Manhattan for Urgent Care, I choose to travel 20 minutes to an Urgent Care close to me even though I'm not familiar with the area. I have my phone, so everything is fine. In short, one star because poor bedside manner and prescriptions sent to incorrect pharmacy. Excuse my rant. Registration and Scheduling-fairly simple at the Kiosk. The ID reader was not centered so I had to manually enter my information. It prompted for a pharmacy. I asked the ladies in the front which one is the Rite Aid that is on the same block. She said 892...Flatbush. I stated the Rite Aid that is coming up is 302 Church Ave. She said don't worry, they will update the system to the Rite Aid I'm referring too. I was like great! Insurance Verification-A different person verified my insurance and collected my $70 copay. I verified with the front end that my pharmacy has been updated, I was told yes. Visit-An MA? definitely not an NP or PA. I believe her name was Diana, she takes my temp and blood pressure and hand writes my reason for visit and symptoms on paper. Very pleasant. Dr. Zinovy Kozlov comes in with a different person. Lets call her Jen. Dr. Kozlov asked for the reason of my visit, I told him I'm getting the flu or might already have it and need antibiotics. He asked rather than giving him a diagnosis, give him my symptoms, fair! So I began to tell him feverish, cough, throat feels funny and body aches. While I'm speaking, he has me take a few breaths. He cuts me off, stated I don't have the flu but a cold and leaves the room. Jen comes back in to tell me they will do a Rapid Strep and Rapid Flu. Diana comes back in and takes separate swaps for tests. Jen comes back after a few minutes and tells me both test came back negative and that the MD prescribed cough med, lodicaine for my throat and something for my nose. I asked what is my diagnosis. She looked at my discharge papers and said I have flu like symptoms but do not have the flu. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the MD. She offered for another MD to see me, I agreed but I know this was not possible because this provider had seen me and I had already been discharged. Sure enough, she came back and informed me of this. She asked the MD to see me. Md comes back and walks-in begins to speak (mined you the only time the door was closed was when Diana was in the room with me). I questioned my diagnosis. He stated he can only treat what I have at time of visit, fair because he doesn't know my history but then again NOONE asked for my history. He continued to state I don't have fever so I don't have the flu. I told him, my pee (sorry for the TMI) was hot this morning so I drank lots of water. I asked, what is the process when I come back in 2 days and have flu. Will the visit be considered a follow-up and so I don't need to pay the copay again? He told me that he has nothing to do with copays. This is a basic billing MD 101 question!!! Follow-up visits=no copay. The kiosk checkin only had new patient and established patient option. I walked out of the room. MD follows and continues to talk. At this point, I could not hear what he was saying. All I know was he couldn't give me the ti,e of day until I complained. Jen gave me my paper work near the front end and finalized my prescriptions and doctors note. I confirmed with the person at the front end (Jen was at the station next to the front end.) She reassured me that my profile has the correct Rite Aid that is on the same block. I go the Rite Aid and the clerk stated my prescription was filled at 302 Church Ave. SERIOUSLY!!! So here I am calling the wrong aid to cancel my prescription so I can get my meds filled out at the Rite Aid a couple doors down from the Urgent Care located at 892-908 Flatbush Ave on the corner of Church Ave and Snyder Ave. I should have known something was wrong when the Pharmacist at the wrong Rite Aide called to confirm my pick-up. read more

Very clean. Upon arrival I didn't have to wait long, the gentalmen In the front was polite. Everybody I encountered was helpful and pleasant. The Pr Huggins was polite as well, however I felt like he was rushing me. I fell very hard on my knee. Had some exrays done, I was told by the Pr Huggins that he is not a radiologist and I would have to wait for my referral I was given to find out exactly, in the same breath he said "It doesn't seem there's any fractures or broken bones" So that's a tad bit concerning. Also he didn't even check or examen my knee. He just asked me if I wanted meds and a xray. Other than those things it was an alright experience. Just a suggestion. Maybe somebody on hand to read xrays would be beneficial to patient per incident. read more
