I'll be straight up: Menage A Trois is the favorite everyday wine of my circle of friends. It is a very delicious and drinkable red and only costs approximately $8. So of course we had to visit Folie A Deux and put a bow on that pretty little package. Hands down, I have never had so much fun in a tasting room. We were laughing, trying olive oil and salsa, getting extra pours for free and just having an awesome time. Our server really hooked us up and provided a perfect end to a great day. This winery is another good one. REALLY reasonably priced for the budget wino. The Menage a Trois bottles range from $7.50 to $12.00 a bottle if you sign up for wine club membership. They carry the newer vintages/types of wines that you wont find at the grocery stores. Did a tasting and they were all very good for the prices. The Menage a Trois Cabernet is $10.50 and a very good table wine for everyday meals. I am not a fan of Mascato's generally but theirs was not overly sweet and it was more of a undertone verses dominating. I would drink it ;) The pourers were very nice and customer service oriented. With so many wines here it is hard to go into detail about all the good ones. I have been here twice and have both times enjoyed my tastings. My boyfriend and I came in for a tasting and had both the Folie a Deux and Napa Cellars tastes. Both make wonderful wines, some of my favorites were the Napa Cellars Chardonnay and the Folie a Deux Zin (Amador County). For the price point you also cannot go wrong with this place. Many of the wines are priced less than $20 and none I remember exceed $30. The tasting room itself is pretty nice and has a ton of trinkets to look at. The staff is really nice and great at explaining the differences between the wineries and stories behind them. read more

There is not a lot of room there, and they had tents set up with a heater...they tried hard, but the vibe was just not there. Had the opportunity to hang out with friends while they went wine tasting and from the moment we walked in we were all treated very well. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive, especially Ray one of their staff persons. Ray was great and definitely made sure we were all taken care of. Tasting room was nice and roomy. Outdoors was my favorite area with benches for picnics and couches for lounging plus it had a few outdoor games to keep you entertained. Some of them are sold in stores, and the prices range from $20-$40 a bottle, a good deal for Napa Valley. They are good too! They also have dips you can try in the store and see the winery out back. This was a really cozy, comfortable tasting room. It's smaller compared to some of the other ones in the Napa are, but I found it to be very personable and welcoming. We decided to stop here because we got a 2-for-1 tasting deal at the welcome center and thought, why not? The tastings were $10 for 4 wines I believe, so in total my boyfriend and I got 8 wines for $10. Nice. The wines themselves were decent, and very reasonably priced compared to other locations in Napa, so we were happy about that. I think the best part about this place is its lovely outdoor area, which would be perfect for a picnic and also seems super kid friendly if you have little ones tagging along. This place is always my favorite stop when wine tasting in Napa. Conveniently located on the way back to town, it's usually the last stop. It's a cozy tasting room , with a wonderful outdoor area with picnic tables and ladder ball and bag-o outside perfect for a day with decent to nice weather. The people here are so friendly every time I come in. The customer service here is not only good, it's consistent. My fiancé and I are wine members here and this is one we will never cancel unless they get bought out and change like a lot of the wineries up here have in the last 5 years or so. Cathy was just the best.Darlene and Louis were s wonderful as well. Tastings were $30 (or $40 for reserve) and some of their wines are available at total wine and other stores. I am DD and I love wineries that have extras. Not only do they have a free cheese plate for checking in on yelp, but you get to keep the cheese board. They also have bread and olive oil to dip, and several other gift items such as body butters, candles, shirts etc. Become a member for free tastings up to 4 ppl and free tastings at partner wineries too. Went to Napa Cellars today for the first time. My wife and I took some close friends to relax with a late lunch on their beautiful patio overlooking the vines. As the Napa Wine Train went by, my thought was everyone on that train would rather be in my seat! Sitting in a shade area with comfortable seating, corn hole game being played, gentle breeze blowing as we enjoyed great conversations. What a great experience. We had seen the Napa Cellars brand on the wine lists for several local family owned restaurants but had never tried their wines, staying with old favorites. So when we saw the sign from the highway, we thought we would give them a try and pulled into the parking lot. We were immediately greeted upon entering the tasting room. We told the hostess why we had stopped and she steered up towards the classic flight as those wines were probably what I was seeing in the local restaurants. We did. All reds. She did a great job of balancing the interaction of explaining the wines and letting us enjoy our tasting. To end the tasting, they had an opened bottle of the St. Helena cab of which she poured a taste along side a re-taste of the classic cab. Was there a difference. I'm glad we did the classic tasting as now I know what to expect at the restaurants. We brought a couple of bottles of the reserve cab for dinners at home. This winery was great! They had tastings for 10 dollars and 25 dollars. It depends if you want to try the reserve wines. So when we started we started with a nice lady and then she had to go to lunch. So we got Darlene, she has not been there long but she knew her stuff! She was super friendly, knew her wine and understood her clientele. I love sweet wines so I didn't do much tasting but my sister and boyfriend loved all the wines. I got to try their Moscato and I love it. Oh almost forgot if you buy two bottles of wine you tasting is free. So we got ours free. Stop by and see Darlene! read more

We came here this past Saturday and the place was packed. We had the nephew so we went straight to the back where they have picnic tables and a nice lawn. The sis and I came inside and we had a hard time trying to get attention from their staff. My sis finally tracked a lady down and she wasn't the friendliest person I've met that worked in the wine industry! Lots of attitude and I just couldn't figure out why...I thought it was b/c of the weather but she just didn't seem to care what my sis wanted. I like this place because it is casual and not pretentious. They were inviting, warm, and informative. They were also well prepared for the large tour bus that stopped by, so it was a little commercialized, but the wines were reasonably priced and quite tasty. An extra star given because their tastings are super cheap ($5 and $7) and the people there are really friendly and unpretentious. This is two wineries under one roof (Folie a Deux & Menage a Trois). We went with the Menage a Trois tastings, which gives you four pours plus a complimentary tasting of their moscato. Their wines are okay... you can tell that they aren't of very high quality. The Menage a Trois wines aren't very complex and almost blend together to taste the same. But hey, how much depth and flavor can you really expect from $5? For the pice, I'm definitely not complaining. I would recommend stopping here if its on the way to wherever you're going and if you aren't pressed for time. They also offer samples of bread and pretzels with a mustard dipping sauce. The mustard is SO GOOD. I wish I paused my activities for a moment to remember to grab a jar of it. read more

We had the absolute best experience here. We were celebrating my moms 60th and had a toddler and a my very pregnant sister with us. I knew about their white Menage A Trois label and loved it. I always thought it was named after the blend of 3 grapes, but found out that there were white, rose and red each of them with blend of 3 grapes, hence the name "Menage a Trois". Rose was beautiful, so was red, and we bought all 3 wines, at $12 each. At restaurants, these wines would be $12 a glass. Word. Gotta love the scenery. Uneven service and surprisingly untrained staff. This space was not successful in its previous incarnation as a Ménage a trois outpost. We came in for a quick stopover hoping to picnic and got a runaround - first it was fine to buy a few glasses to enjoy the grounds ($35) then it was that our group of five hadn't spent enough money and they asked for an additional per head fee totaling an additional $75. The staff working the register did not know how to input this additional charge and ended up having to ask for assistance. On our way out a staff member had a final tactless sales pitch for a "one day only" wine membership discount with complimentary tasting chocolates. So, be prepared to say no. Perhaps repeatedly. The outdoor space is still conveniently located to other Napa destinations, and the bathrooms are mostly clean. read more

Napa Cellar tasting room is wonderful! We actually thought we were coming to taste menage a trois however they no longer serve tastings. The Napa Cellar wines were good and Darcy the server, provided us with the tastings that were fabulous! We were able to get the tasting for free under the Napa and Neighbors program. Napa residence show their IDs and got the basic tastings for free, not sure if the other tastings are covered. Darcy educated us about the Napa neighbors program with all the wineries up and down the valley. We also got a discount when we purchased the wine. PICNICS:This place is AWESOME if you want to do a picnic w your own spread and it's not crowded at all so you can totally find a place to sit down. There's some small picnic games they have outside for you to play games. Also they give out free water bottles! DRINKING: Their tasting room is meh and really only good if you have a membership! Otherwise you can't do much. They don't have flights and you can't drink by the bottle, so you end up just drinking from glasses. Though it ranges from $5-15 a glass so still a good price. I just have to say: absolutely wonderful winery. Lance, our amazing wine guide, gave us an incredible recount of the history of the winery and tour of our flights. Our weekend trip ended with this winery; we only bought a bottle from this winery, nothing else seemed worth it on our trip (we may be a little stingy). Will make a point to revisit this every time we're back in Napa. Fantastic service, great atmosphere, beautiful property, and they allow outside food for picnic-ing. The wine was just wonderful. One of the more affordable places in the area, and we really liked their friendly hospitality. Somebody checks you in at the front door and escorts you to the tasting room to advise the employees inside how they can help you. The grounds are pretty, and the staff was friendly. We ended up buying a bottle of their pinot noir to enjoy in our hotel that night. They are dog friendly, also! read more
