I can't say this winery is beautiful - it's really quite humble in terms of decor and grounds. But the wines are good and very affordable. It's a bit confusing that they taste two different wineries at the same location. You can taste the Folie A Deux wines and/or Napa Valley Cellars wines. We went twice over our weekend in Napa as we decided to buy a half case of wine on our way back to SF.. The Menage a Trois line is great every day wine. And the Napa Valley Zin was really DELICIOUS! Not only that, but the staff was soo great and even gave us a 30% discount. CHa ching ching..... Awesome! read more

GREAT EVERYDAY TABLE WINE I'm not super familiar with their full line, but I love the Menage A Trois Red. The Menage A Trois label is a blend of 3 varietals (Merlot, Cab & Zin), which explains the racy name. For about $8-9 per bottle ($6.99 at Costco) this is a terrific every day table wine that is unpretentious and easy to drink right now. It's also great to cook with...I've made a Boeuf Bourguignon and Chicken Cacciatore with this wine for weepingly delicious results. It's a good wine to serve at a large gathering (i.e. Thanksgiving), especially later on in the evening when serving an expensive wine is really kind of a waste because everyone is already a little buzzed. I've had their Menage A Trois White, which is light and fruity, but not as readily found as the Red. There is also a Rose which I tried, but didn't love it. The Folie A Duex pouring staff are super friendly and the tasting room & adjacent garden is pretty. read more

This was our first time in Napa and at a winery. Darlene went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time! She was able to focus on us and answer all of our questions and was determined to figure out our pallet! The wine is of course outstanding and we ended up going home with a couple bottles. What's with all the Folie A Deux hate? I like this place, the grounds are very pretty and an excellent place for a picnic, the wines are good, the staff is friendly and their name means 'a shared delusion'. I do have slight issues with places that charge for tasting, but they let you keep the glass and they credit the cost of the tasting towards your wine purchase so I can forgive them for that. read more

Steep pours in an unpretentious tasting room. The men pouring the wine were super friendly and looking from the rosy red cheeks, perhaps, a little tipsy. Not that there's anything wrong with that. They have a great picnic area to enjoy nibbles before heading off to another winery. By far, my most favorite white wines that I can find in a main stream grocery store. read more

This review is a long time coming! We came in the afternoon back in April - two couples, and were served by Darlene. To cut to the chase, our experience was nothing short of spectacular! Darlene was amazing- absolutely loved her! Wow- I was very impressed with both the service at Folie A Deux and the quality of the (inexpensive) wines we tasted here last weekend. They were having a Hawaiian themed tasting party on Saturday and for $10 each we got to do tasting and partake in games and eat the yummy passed appetizers. Favorites wines include: Rose and Napa Cellars Sauvignon Blanc. The lawn games were great fun and we had a fantastic time playing them while sipping our wines. I would def. come back to Folie A Deux and am considering joining their wine club. Great table wines for every day drinking! read more

A few weeks back I visited Napa Cellars with a few friends and had a great time. We had visited a few fancy wineries earlier in the day but Napa Cellars was definitely the best bang for your buck experience. I'm not the biggest wine drinker, but Darlene made sure to explain the different things to look for when drinking wine and provided great recommendations of other places to visit in the Napa Valley. The get one star off for the somewhat utilitarian location and vibe. However their tasting price, and the amount of wine you get for it is just fabulous. During a visit to my brother in the Bay Area earlier this month, he and I decided to spend a day in Napa. At mid-day, we stopped at Napa Cellars for a picnic lunch (our second time here) and had a most wonderful time. From the time we walked into the tasting room and throughout our visit, our hostess Cathy was ever cheerful, attentive, and helpful. We tasted some selections and decided on a bottle of Cabernet. We settled at one of the picnic tables in the back. Napa Cellars sits on the main drag of Napa (St. Helena Highway) and yet once you are in their lovely backyard, you feel like being in your own little piece of paradise a thousand miles away from everyday life. All around us, lush green grapevines rustled ever so gently and cascaded down the picturesque rolling hills into the valley floor down below. Since our last visit, they had added deep red umbrellas above the picnic tables which was a nice touch. While we enjoyed our lunch and sipped the Cabernet (excellent, dry, crisp tannin), Cathy came out several times, asked how we were doing, brought out the delicious cheese platter, and offered us more tastings along with helpful explanations. We particularly liked their Malbec (bold with notes of smoke) and Meritage (smooth with such heavenly aromas.) Another staff member, Cindy spent time to explain to us about catering for company group events. Before we left, Cathy corked up the Cabernet, even gave us as mementos the Napa-Cellars embossed wood platter (for the cheeses), and wine opener. All in all, it was a very pleasant visit and all but ensured that we would come back again, most likely with our respective spouses and some friends the next time. read more

One of my fave table wines is Menage a Trois...so I knew that this tasting room would be a place to visit in Napa. This was our 2nd stop of the day and I had made a tasting appointment at 1:30pm. We were 10 minutes late, but it didn't matter, they still were fine and served. Our wonderful server, Dean, served us at the wine bar and you have a choice to do the complimentary (1 white & 1 red) wine tasting or pay $5 for tasting of 5 wines. $5 for 5 wines...not a bad price. You don't sample Menage a Trois here because it's a popular wine that everyone knows about. You can buy it at Costco for $8! Since Folie A Deux and Napa Cellars were merged into one place, you can do side by side comparisions. They offered wines that you can't find at the local stores. I found that I didn't like the Folie a Deux wines compared to Napa Cellars. The Napa Cellars wines were a little more refined and dry as I like them, the Folie a Deux wines were a little sweet for my tastebuds. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the Zinfandel, Syrah and Merlot for less than $90. It's a nice place if you're looking to sample some inexpensive wines, not as intense as our previous wine tasting session that we had in the day. The merchandise available is nice, and the samplings of olive oil and vinegars are pretty good, too. read more

Folie A Deux is one of my favorite value wines. The winery itself is small, and very mainstream & commercial..however, if you're on St. Helena, you can't go wrong making a quick stop here. $10 tastings are reasonable, and you can easily find 2 for 1 deals in booklets/coupons. They really do have great value wines that you can find all the time at Safeway and other grocery stores. read more

I always make a stop at Napa Cellars when we head up to Napa. Their flights are inexpensive and tasty, and their staff are always a joy. They always try to accommodate your tastes and will adjust the selection in your flight if you're nice! We've been on my birthday twice now and each time they were really wonderful. Decent wine, good prices. Friendly staff. Didn't love the Menage a Tois line, but they're good everyday, BBQ-type wines. You can taste the Menage a Tois wines (a red, a white, and a rose) for free. The other Folie a Deux wines are $5 or $10 to taste (I think there were 3 or 4 of 'em). They share a tasting room with Napa Cellars, so you can taste them both at the same time! read more

Six of us arrived mid afternoon on a Friday because of the good Yelp reviews. I was rather excited because this is owned by the same people as Sutter Home, which I really enjoyed. Ambiance - (4/5) The tasting room is rather large and could hold maybe 40 people. It was not very busy and there were no snacks. Service - (2/5) We got immediate attention but they kept switching our servers, so we did not get a lot of background information on the wines. Cost - (5/5) One tasting was for $7 for five pours each, with a two-for-one coupon Wines - (3/5) The wines were nice, but none stood out to me. They ranged from about $18-$34. I did not purchase anything and probably would not go back as there was nothing stand-out. (I have visited about 60 wineries in Napa in the last few years.) read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years! We remember when Napa Cellars distribution was strictly the restaurants in Napa and the only place you could buy a bottle was the winery. Our experience yesterday was ok. The saving Grace is the quaint patio, with picnic tables and lounge chairs. They don't sell glasses so if you want a glass of wine , it is implied that you get a bottle. If you do spend the money to get a bottle and go outside to one of their many tables they do not have a wine chiller to put the bottle in. A large crowd stopped in while we were there-I have to agree with a precious comment about lack of staffing and the feeling of any personal service. Overall it was an ok day - The facilities are immaculate and we made our own good time. read more

If you are looking for a laid back place to chill out and have a picnic in the napa valley, you can't do much better, particularly if you're like me and have a family that includes little ones. The Mrs. and I really appreciate being able to plop into a comfy chair or picnic table, drink some chilled white, eat whatever tasty food we've brought with us, play some lawn games, let the kids run around and have fun, rush out to wave at the wine train when it goes by (kids really love this!) and just enjoy the good life. Is the wine anything to write home about? Not really, unless you want to write home and mention how it's all very reasonably priced and that's a rarity in the valley. It is acceptably good though and do you really need much more than that when you're having a picnic in wine country? read more

This was our last stop after a full day in Napa. I've had a few wines from the Ménage e Trois label and was excited to stop in. The tasting room is certainly cozier than most, and the staff was young. It was a very laid back atmosphere and I enjoyed myself, having no expectations when I walked in. But what struck me most about this cellar was actually how I was treated *after* I left. See, I had actually misplaced some expensive prescription sunglasses there, and I was in the middle of a road trip from Seattle to Carlsbad, with a stay in Anaheim in the middle. By the time I realized where I'd left my shades and contacted the winery, I was long gone. The folks there found them and rushed them down to me in another city. I am deeply grateful that not only did they keep the glasses safe, but worked with my schedule to get them to a particular hotel by a certain day. They saved me from a stupid mistake, AND let me finish out my vacation in comfort. Again, I appreciate the service and continue to enjoy their wine! read more

This was one of the first tasting rooms I had ever been to in Napa and it remains one of my favorites. There is truly nothing better than sitting on their outdoor patio enjoying a flight. The last time we went, we had a guy who just kept making us laugh so hard. He was one of my favorite guides we had the entire trip because he knew so much about the wines, was born and raised in Napa so knew all sorts of additional facts and even planned out our must sees in Calistoga. The wine is priced incredibly well, the views are pure bliss and their employees go above and beyond. I love Napa Cellars. read more

Immediately I recognized the symbol and screamed "ooooh Ménage à Trois" I love that wine...Costco $5.99. I was a little skeptical about going to a winery that sells its wine at Costco since I wanted to try some boutique wine during my first trip, but I was reassured when I walked in and it was nothing like the commercial debacle we saw at V. Sattui. It was small, quaint, and VERY HIP. They had the AC/DC rockin' and the people in there were younger and all having a blast. Our guy Dean was pouring it up, singing, and keeping us entertained. He also wrote down some sex advice for one of my friends. This was a hot spot! On our winery journey my husband and I decided to stop here because it was next down the road. This is a tasting room that pours three different winerys wines. One of them being Menage trois. I have had some of thier wines in the past. We did two different tastings of the Napa valley wine and the other wine that wasn't menage trois. I can't even remember the name of the winery. It just wasn't memorable. The wines were just Ok, we probably wont be back based on the wine. Although the staff was very friendly! read more

We were then offered a 100$ box to self ship or check in as luggage . We also had no idea what we were tasting because they kept bringing out 3 glasses for 5 people . I would not come back here . My daughter and I, along with my life long friend and her daughter went on a wine tasting tour in Napa on Saturday and Sunday, March 18th &19, 2023. This was a birthday present from our two daughters and we were really happy to be there. However, one particular winery, Napa Cellars, unfortunately spoiled our Sunday. After entering the wine tasting tent at Napa Cellars, we were seated to begin our wine tasting experience like we had at the other tasting centers, but, since my girlfriend, who is an extremely moderate alcohol drinker decided to pass on the flight of wines presented to her and I passed as well because I felt I had enough at the moment. However, without warning, a representative from the winery, approached my friend telling her that if we didn't partake in the wine tasting, we would have to pay a minimum of $15 to continue to sit. He also said we could have a coke or water. My friend chose to not stay and of course, I followed her out as did my daughter and her daughter. It was terribly embarrassing as nothing was posted to let us or anyone know, that this was their policy. It seemed as if it was personal. Upon our exit, a female in our group who also witnessed our situation told us that she witnessed a similar situation a week or two ago which was handled completely different and there was no $15 charge for occupancy nor were they asked to leave. Our daughters tried talking to the manager but only was able to speak to someone who identified herself as the DIC manager. She was rude, insensitive and disrespectful. So, the four of us waited in the wine tour's van. Needless to say, we will be contacting others about this disturbing situation. Oh, Did I mention that we are Black Americans and the female who shared her experience with us was White. read more
