Complimentary waters with the tasting ~ charcuterie board at cost
    Gina G.

Having a friend who is a member of HALL Wines is always nice because that means when invited, we can enjoy complimentary tastings when they pick up their quarterly cases :) While HALL has beautiful interior tasting room(s), the outdoor area is such a fun vibe with vineyard views for days. If you're not a fan of big and bold reds, HALL may not be the right choice for your wine tasting adventures. I believe mostly, if not all, reds are on the tasting menu and what they're known for. Friendly staff, and I guess they now offer outdoor pizza options to share while tasting, along with charcuterie boards. When driving on St Helena Hwy, you can't miss them (they have the giant rabbit by their main sign!)

Oh my God! The best experience was the best! Nashelli Greenfield made us feel right at home. Best experience in Napa by far.

Hall I a great winery with absolutely fantastic wines!! I loved Jack's Masterpiece and Kathryn Hall as well!! The tour was fun but the tasting was fantastic with great backstories for each wine. We also did members tastings which were so fun too. The people are very personable and have a tremendous amount of knowledge about not just the wine but the Napa Valley area. The tastings are also outside when the weather is good which is amazing way to end the day!!

These guys have it down. Brian gave us history, geography and a bit of winemaking lore during a well presented tasting. The grounds are beautiful and the hall where the tasting was a piece of history as well. If you havent tried their wines you are in for a treat. Lots of options in this area but this is one of the top ones.

I joined the Signature Tour and had Mary as my host. Mary was very enjoyable and interesting to interact with. She was knowledgeable about the history of HALL Wines. I thought it was interesting of how the format of the Signature Tour was set. First we all come out to the front to try the Sauvignon Blanc while Mary explains the start of HALL Wines. After that, the group strolls towards the vineyards and try out the grapes on the vines. I liked how the grapes were labeled, so we knew which grapes turned into which wines. We walk up to the second level, where we watch a video of how they use a machine generated wine maker to collect the best grapes to make wine. I was hoping we would explore the space a bit more, but the room was just for watching the 5ish minute video. Very interesting, and Mary was explaining some things more in depth afterwards. After that, we go into a specific room (felt like a conference room), and begin our wine tasting. You'll end up sitting with your tour group for the tasting. I enjoyed the little snacks they provided but I do wish there was a small paper or explanation of what everything was (like specifying what cheese and nuts are plated). I noticed that this wine tasting was all Cabernet Sauvignon, so I personally couldn't differentiate each easily since the flavors started mixing together. I think it would be nice to mix up some of the wines to taste the profiles more. Overall an enjoyable experience though!

Hall is a winery known for their bold cabernets. They have great wine and their tasting room is on a beautiful property filled with art, vineyards and friendly staff. Our host Colton was super friendly, had a great sense of humor and was attentive to our group. We sat out by their grass area and had a great time. Though I believe Hall has moved to a more commercial/corporate style winery, staff such as Colton are what make it feel homey. If you like taking selfies and sharing in the spotlight there's plenty of space to do so here, if you enjoy a more private setting there are other smaller wineries in the area that provide a more intimate setting. All in all, Hall is a great place to visit for some great reds in the area!

My friend is a member at Hall wines and part of her membership includes complimentary tastings at not one but three locations; Hall, Walt and Baca. We come for the complimentary tastings and sit in the members lounge with the comfy white seats in the lawn area and enjoy the spring and summer weather. Alex has helped us both times that we came here! He has a lot of knowledge on the wines from being a wine lover himself and he knows a lot about the history of wines. I love Hall for their selection of Cabernets, they are always lovely! I love their seating areas for tastings and the views here are so beautiful especially being close to the vineyards. A lot of times when wine tasting you are stuck in a tasting room but the best part of being here is getting to be outside and sip your wine in the members lounge. Members have the option to change out their wine shipment with anything from their tastings with I think it's awesome because then you get to choose the wines you like. The property has tons of art pieces that have been collected over time and make Hall a special a unique place. If you're looking for a place to settle on a membership for wine, this place is a great choice!

We have been members for years. Sorry to just now be giving you all a 5 star rating. We love the wine, visiting the facility and all the people that have served us. Especially Fonzie and Joego. We really appreciate the member lounge, all the outdoor areas and the art this place has to offer. A top spot in St Helena for sure!

It felt like a high end day club for winery enthusiasts. Hadn't seen anything like it in the valley. Ron was our guide and was amazing and we would highly recommend experiencing Hall Wines

    Hall Vineyard.

We love going to Hall Winery for a tasting and buying some bottles of wine. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The grounds at the winery are gorgeous and nice to walk around. J.J. and Ray are great hosts. We highly recommend going to Hall for a tasting.

Some art work on the lawn. They allow you to bring outside food while tasting wine. Child friendly.

Hall winery is out new favorite! We became members last summer. The grounds are beautiful with lots of attractive artwork. For members there is an outside lounge seating area with comfortable cushions and a large lawn. Hall is one of the few wineries that allows you to bring outside food. One beautiful summer day we came with our friends, children and grandchildren and had a fabulous picnic and sipped wine while the kids played on the lawn, Hall is one of the only wineries I know of where you can send two friends to taste for free and you don't have to be there with them. For a first time experience I recommend taking the tour. It is an excellent overview and not too long and dull- at the end you sit in a private room with light snacks and taste some delicious wines. If you join then the tasting is free. If you know a friend who is a member use their name and after your second order you get one of their top Cabernets for only $1.(If no friend use my name Mary Conway ) After a year of membership you get invited to special events as part of the GEMS club. Membership also includes free tasting at BACA and Walt wineries. The longer you are a member, the better the discounts. After two years, Members receive a 20% discount on these wines. After three years, Members receive a 25% discount on these wines. In summary this is my new favorite winery. I have friends who visit from out of state and they can taste for free even if I can't join them, the wines are delicious and it's a fabulous place to bring you own food and have a picnic by the lawn at the members lounge!

Tom was great! He showed us around the vineyard and was very knowledgeable about the wine. Highly recommend the Cabernet collectors experience!

As a Hall member, are you allowed to access the members lounge and book a complimentary tasting the same day? Or is it one or the other?

I see dogs are allowed on the property but are they also allowed in the tasting room?

Only service animals are allowed inside the building, but your furry companion animals are allowed outside. The outside tasting area is so nice, lots of shade and comfy seating and a large grassy area. I always see people there doing wine tastings…

And if you like wine and picknicks under the trees it's a total win, win win. We have been here multiple times over the years. This was our first time actually doing a tasting. Andrea stuck with the rose's and white's and I stayed with the red's. Our host was Lucas and he did a fantastic job handling us and multiple patrons at the same time. I could never do this job even though I love wine and can be mediocrely knowledgeable about it to most tourist, but I don't like people and am not into idle chit chat to entertain the peeps. The wine they make you can only buy at the winery and most of it is good and a few bottles are really good. For the tasting you pick 5 from a much larger list and with all tastings at pretty much all wineries we have been to there are always extra splashes of a few other wines as well, typically with the verbage along the lines of, "This one was opened by accident so may as well pour it" or "The new guy thought it was on the list today", or "We just found these in the back and thought it would be a treat". Funny how the extra pours always seem to be on sale by the bottle, Today Only!!! Need to get that FOMO in. Speaking of by the bottle. After the tasting we grabbed a bottle of champs and headed over to the deli for a baguette, cheese and some grapes and onward to the grass. I was eyeballing some tasty looking prosciutto, salami and other assorted meat goodies but opted out since I would be the only one devouring them. Pro tip....if going to buy a bottle for an onsite bring your own wine glasses to avoid the small plastice tumblers. We usually carry double walled stemless aluminum champs and wine glasses with us if not for picknicking for use in hotel rooms and by the hot tub. The picknick grounds are nice with plenty of tables or throw a blanket on the ground. A very nice experience overall!!! Also, "Certified DoggieBear Paw Print of Approval"

There were five of us in our group and none of us had been wine tasting, ever and 3 of us are over 60. The grounds are beautiful and very clean! While we were paying for our package, we were informed that we would be given some extras like more red wines to taste that didn't count toward our 5 wines along with some handmade chocolates. While it was a little warm out, we decided that we wanted to sit outside as we knew our group could get loud. Thankfully, the patio area was lined with misters We were also thankful that Tuesdays aren't a super busy day! Adam was our sommelier, I had to look this up. Adam chatted with us a little to find out what each of us was looking forward to in our wines. I won't bore you with which wines we tried as they are all very good. While the usual time for group like ours should have taken about 60 minutes, we were there closer to 2 hours. Adam helped us with so many delicious wines, taking time to explain what this wine would pair well with, etc. Something that I discovered that I actually do like a good red wine. I guess the red wines that I tried years prior were not so good. We all ended up purchasing several bottles of the wines that we had tried. When we were leaving, there was a gift store with more of the delicious handmade chocolates that we had tried on the patio. There was only the two piece size available but Adam was able to speak with a manager getting as a great deal as the 5 piece box was available. He worked it out so I was able to purchase 3 boxes of the 2 pieces boxes for the same price as the 5 piece box. I had planned on giving these as gifts so it worked wonderfully for me. If you are looking for a great place to go wine tasting, I highly encourage you to try this winery! Great service and goes out of their way to make your day!

The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. The barrel tasting was great and surprisinly all their wines are pretty drinkable right out of the barrell I suppose because they dont have much tannins so they dont need alot of tiem to mellow. Beautiful property, down-to-earth vibes, genuinely great hosts, and of course, plenty of great wine. We got to try some new favorites and, naturally, left with a few gems to take home. Such a fun and relaxed experience from start to finish. We'll definitely be back and hopefully with a little more room in the wine fridge!

Very kind, and knowledgeable about his product. You can definitely taste the different notes and nuances of each port. You can definitely tell (taste) which one was aged longer and was thus more expensive. From thiner and lighter ports to more caramel and thicker ports. They have a great selection of ports here!! I really love the ambiance of this place. We had a table all to ourselves outside. In fact, we had the entire outside area to ourselves. Really felt exclusive. They have a silver lab named Jake (from state farm), roaming the premise. Super friendly but controlled dog. Really enjoyed Jake greeting us at the entrance. Came and made his rounds every now and again to make sure everything was going good. Port tasting could be split amongst 2 people. So even though there was 6 of us we were able to do 3 tastings only. And mote from our group was able to get some tasting in as well. Super chill and relaxed vibes. For each bottle you buy, you get 50% off of the port tasting. So with each bottle you save about $25 bucks for the tasting. Overall, an amazing winery. If you want to try something different. Or if you like sweeter wines (aka port), then definitely carve out time for this place. You will not be disappointed!!
