I walked in found exactly what I needed, (2) boxes of DEF for my motorhome threw them on the counter, grabbed the scanner, inserted my credit card, printed my receipt and walked out I ask you how amazing is that? Noooo I didn't need to provide my phone number or email address and I also won't be getting a bunch of junk in my inbox or unsolicited text on my phone this alone is well worth not receiving any reward points or promotional emails. I only hope this a trend that will spread across this brand which would definitely be a reason to shop at AutoZone verses the other two major brands and maybe just maybe this could reduce their overhead and lower their prices...

I called them for a quote to cut a small produce vent in the back of one of my trucks dry van trailers. They quoted me $270 which was a very high rate to pay to cut a square hole in a trailer. But they said they would meet up with my driver in Valdosta so i ageeed to do it. Prior to hanging up the phone I asked them again, $270 all-in right? They said yes. This entire conversation is recorded btw. The driver and the service tech met at a truck stop in Valdosta. the tech cut completed the job in about 20 minutes. I got The driver a comcheck for $270. He went to pay the service tech and the guy told him the rate is $715!! I called The company up and asked them what was going on and without justification they said " the rate is $715. I don't know who told you $270. I explaIned that i have a recorded telephone call with quoting me the rate. Then they immediately threatened to call a tow truck and place a lean on the trailer. After overhearing the service tech yell racial slurs at my driver and the companies threaten to tow my truck I decided to have the driver call the police. Two female Valdosta police officers showed up. They said it was a civil matter but if the driver left without paying the $715 that this service company we "owed" them the driver would be thrown in jail. My driver was extremely patient and calm despite the officers taking an agressive stance towards him and confining him to the truck cab while laughing and shaking hands with the service tech. I spoke with the Officer and told her there is no way we are paying that amount and that is not what the law states. I told Her i have the conversation with the verbal agreement of $270 recorded! She did not care. She also had no idea what the law was but kept saying she would arrest my driver if he didn't pay the rate the service tech said we owed them. Complete ignorance. She ended up coming back and saying the service tech agree to lower the rate to $475. I told her I respect all Law enforcement but you don't deserve a badge. You're literally helping negotiate and highway robbery. I ended Up paying the $475, almost double what I was quoted, out of fear that my driver would be arrest or have his truck towed. I have This entire dialogue on a recorded line and will be pursuing legal action on this company and will be filing a complaint with the Valdosta police department. STAY AWAY!!

Geico recommended Gross. Selected the Express Service. Informed the estimator that I had previously worked at a body shop. Very affable and said the damage was so minor he would probably send my BMW to the body shop same day. Fast forward 2 weeks. Why is this taking so long. Answer-you selected the Geico Express Service which takes longer. What?? Another week and asked where is my car? Waiting to go into the paint shop; sitting under a tree in a chain link dirt lot; just where anyone would park a convertible. When will it go into paint? Answer-soon. Started calling daily. Reception is now very unfriendly and snippy. It will get done when it is done. Another week and got the car back. Complained about the poor paint match (probably a too thin pearl color coat) and the misaligned bumper. I was stunned when the fellow says our work is guaranteed so you can bring it back anytime and we will fix it. Oh goody, another month hoping the work is done right the second time. Why Gross could not get the job right the first time is a mystery. Our schedule took us out of the United States for a few months so we paid another body shop to fix Gross's shoddy work when we returned.

They were trying to get us to spend 3 times more of what actually is coasting us to fix somewhere else. They really lost our business. He said his daughter in laws car was being repaired right around the corner from the hotel...let's go talk to the guy...and man am I glad I did. Long story short....Ken fixed my truck in record time, but is not open on Saturdays. Having been on the road for 6 days at the time....I really did not want to spend the weekend in Fort Walton Beach (not that it's not a nice town) but I wanted to go home. When Ken called me Friday night and said my truck was finished, I asked him if there was anyway he could meet me Saturday so I could get home Saturday night (Fort Walton is about 6 hours from home for me) He said "I have family in town for my grandaughters graduation...but I would be happy to"...and by the way, he lives 20 minutes from his shop! Barely two miles after leaving Baker Automotive, a car which my father-in-law purchased new 29 years ago was destroyed. Fortunately, I changed my errand routing that afternoon or I would have been driving the vehicle when it caught on fire. As it turned out, I exited the car less than one minute before it ignited. My thoughts about Baker Automotive: * There were multiple people filming my car as it burned - all were surprised that such a well maintained car would have such a horrible fire * A crowd gathered while the fire department and Sheriff deputies did their jobs - many expressed condolences * Through it all, I never said a negative word about Baker Automotive or pointed a finger of blame - even though it would have been very easy to do so * My deposition with my insurance company actually included a note at the end expressing satisfaction with Baker Automotive's performance over the years. * After the fire, one of Baker Automotive's employees requested access to the car - via the auto storage facility - which I granted * My family was a loyal customer of Baker Automotive for over five years. As such, we were surprised to not receive a single call from Baker Automotive after this event - not even as an expression of sympathy or concern * When Ken Baker sold Baker Automotive, I wondered if it would change the business. Bought battery and was told to return old battery for full refund. Went to a mechanic to install battery and reset computer. No issues. Went back to auto zone to return core and obtain refund. Entered store placed battery on counter. Man (Chip) said what do you want me to do with that in an angered voice. Immediately put me on defense. I mentioned returning for core and refund under warranty provisions. He replied- oh no that's not how it works. I must test battery and charge it to determine the status. I explained it had been tested and was told the warranty would provide refund. He said if it tested ok I would have 2 batteries and no refund. After an argument he gave in and proceeded to give refund reluctantly. I WILL NEVER RETURN WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AS BAD AS THIS.
