We had such an amazing experience with Napa Valley Chauffer - from booking to day-of we received A+service from Marcus. We didn't know the company would offer this service, but Marcus booked all three of our wineries and built out our itinerary. With a group of nine people in Covid-times, somehow Marcus found us three fabulous wineries to visit. He communicated with me several times prior to event and made sure I had all my questions answered. Day-of: plenty of communication on where to meet, text from our driver to check in, and a very comfy ride. Half our group arrived very late (bride's dog boarder wasn't open, and I got pulled over trying to get myself and bride up to Napa), but our driver Cruz, kept calm and kept us rolling. We got bottled water on the bus, along with mimosas, and a surprise snack platter with crackers, charcuterie, and cheese. Clear on pricing structure (per hour and tip included) and very competitive for the area, particularly when you consider all the food and water included on bus, and Marcus doing all the booking. We secured the services of Napa Valley Chauffeur for wine tasting during a weekend celebration of my wife's 50th birthday and I could not have made a better choice. Marcus and Darlene were excellent during the planning stages and were generous with their time when I had questions. Our driver was Kevin and he was excellent. Safe, knowledgeable, professional, attentive, courteous and (bonus points) he had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed talking to him throughout the day and comparing notes on our common stomping grounds/experiences in the Napa Valley over the years. I very much enjoyed one of the wineries chosen (Italics) and it offered a top-shelf experience. I'd place it as one of my Top 5, and I've done a LOT of tastings over the past 40 years. After tasting through a flight of 6 of their wines, I walked out with a bunch even though my cellar is already overflowing. The other winery didn't seem prepared for us even though our reservation was made nearly two months in advance. We ended up sitting outside in 100+ heat for the first 20 minutes and it ruined the tasting. Making matters worse, their wines were mediocre at best. I was not impressed with their wine and chocolate pairing; seemed like a gimmick. In sum: NVC offered the best value and its pricing was simple and clear. I got jerked around by a couple of other services when I was soliciting bids; didn't suffer any of that from NVC. This is way overpriced and such a scam. They quoted me a price after I received the itenary. I told them I only wanted 5 hours. After we were done, my family told me the driver demanded more than we were originally told, per Darlene. My sister even set a timer at every winery we went to so that we wouldn't be late for the next destination and get charged extra. The vehicle was also underwelming for 900 freaking dollars! (That's what the total cost came out to). Also, dealing with Marcus was the most frustrating part while planning the winery trip because he wanted me to make these overpriced, outlandish reservations/tours at wineries when all we wanted to do was visit and have a tasting. Guess what?? Wineries will let you just walk in! We had no problem with that. Next time, I will uber and never be a sucker to these types of hustlers. read more
