I had originally picked another company to drive us for this past weekend but I found out at the last minute that they don't do pickups from SF which is what I thought I needed. It's Wednesday morning and I'm scrambling to find a driver for Saturday and the other places I've called are booked full. Here comes Destination Drivers courtesy of my Chase concierge. David was perfect. I had to bring my dog along and honestly, I think my dog had a better time than I did all weekend! He constantly updated me with pictures, texted me to let me know that my next winery appointment was coming soon, brought cold water, etc. Card is also accepted for an additional fee, which was great because I needed receipts for work. I ended up just doing pickup and drop off in Napa rather than in SF but great to know that it's a real option compared to the other company I had in mind. I booked a driver with Destination Drivers for two days, one for Lodi and one day for Napa. They were great from beginning to end. Their website was really clear and simple to navigate. I had never heard of a company that drives MY car and was excited when I saw it at the top of their homepage. I called and spoke with the owner David and he was really helpful, explaining how the insurance works and how his focus is on helping their guests have amazing, unique experiences. His enthusiasm and joy were so apparent. When I got off the phone with David I was excited to book. I checked their reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp and was reassured by the abundance of positive reviews, and so I booked two days. Claudia was our driver for our first day in Lodi, and she was a doll. I don't think I've ever met a nicer, more loving person. I was shocked when our driver for the second day turned out to be David. He was really fun and considerate and his enthusiasm was contagious. Needless to say we had an amazing time and definitely recommend Destination Drivers. it was no surprise after meeting David to find out that Claudia is his wife. The two of them are amazing. Last week represented the second time we've used Destination Drivers. The fact that this was the second time we've used them in less than 6 months and that everyone in our party demanded their information after our business outing testifies to the phenomenal service they provide. I mean, how many people request a photo with their driver following wine tasting? Well I did! During the booking process, Laurie could not have been more patient with our frequent schedule changes, accommodating our last minute requests. Communication was frequent and timely and her attention to detail superb. Where the service really stood out, though, was in our exceptional driver, Brent. While you will be hard pressed to find a safer and more contentious driver than Brent, I would argue it would be impossible to find someone who was so engaging as a guide, so knowledgeable on the local wineries and so passionate for Napa and Sonoma. He exhibited immense flexibility when we found ourselves with time to spare, calling wineries to ensure we could fit in just one more tasting or try a bottle of their wine. Whether it was procuring lunch for us so it would not interfere with our tastings, ensuring we stayed well hydrated or simply regaling us with some of the more fascinating Napa intrigue, Brent was hands down all we could ask for. What I liked about Destination Drivers versus other services we have used in the past is that they drove our rental car (a small insurance fee was applied). Our driver Michael met us at our hotel and was a pleasure to ride with. Michael was knowledgeable about the area and made some excellent recommendations for our stay in Calistoga as well as the next leg of our trip to Carmel. We contacted Destination Drivers 5 days before our trip, as another driver service had bailed on us. Laurie called us within 2 hours, and worked her magic to make sure we had a driver for 2 days during busy season. She helped us with the itinerary, made sure there were reservations made, and did a wonderful job summarizing it in an email. Brent was our driver for the the full 2 days, and he is such a fantastic guy. He showed up 30 minutes early both days, called ahead to confirm our reservations at various tasting rooms and drove us around using the best scenic route. He always had a cooler of cold water in the trunk as well. :) He made great suggestions but was never pushy. All in all, he was a wonderful tour guide during the trip. Not knowing the area, I trusted Laurie to set up the winery tastings. She exceeded my expectations!!! Our driver Tony was right on time to pick us up. He brought a cooler and also water bottles. Our first stop was an amazing market to pick up gourmet sandwiches. We had a wonderful picnic lunch at a gorgeous winery. Tony brought all the food from the car to the table.
