I neglected to see a dentist since graduating college due to cost, hating it, and COVID. I recently decided to visit an in-network practice called coastal dental...it was an absolute NIGHTMARE. Thankfully a coworker suggested Naples smiles...what a RELIEF. Although out of network for me, they offered a dental care plan for $100 that helped to reduce costs significantly. I would recommend this place to any friend or family member for a few reasons. 1.Staff is SO kind and empathetic. They know your name, ask about your day and truly want to get to know you and make you feel valued. The hygienists are kind, knowledgeable, and empathetic to the discomfort that naturally comes with having dental work done. Office staff show you on the computer screen what procedures and costs are offered to you and you are able to decide the best path of treatment for you and your budget. 2. Dr. Cruz was very thorough and knowledgeable..explaining many treatment options and the "why" to procedures he suggested. Although I have many dental issues going on, he readily explained the course of treatments and visits needed. During my appointments for a root canal and crown delivery he was empathetic, talked me through every step and worked efficiently. 3. Attention to detail is the cherry on top. Employees cover their bases, whether it's scheduling or insurance...comfort during the procedure, heck a hygienist even put Vaseline on my lips when she noticed and asked why I was in pain with all the tugging that comes with dentist work. They go the extra mile because they care. In conclusion, I really don't mind coming here. I hate going to the dentist...I put it off for a handful of years. But virtually everything about this place makes it inviting and suck way less. Great work. It is not easy to maintain that kind of company morale all around. I'm impressed! read more

SCAM Please read all the reviews, do not go here for dental work, it's a sales scam, they say they take your insurance and then they charge you for the full cleaning and tell you will have a credit once they bill your insurance. I spent $399 for a basic cleaning, I don't know what I was thinking by paying them what is covered under my insurance for no charge cleaning. My husband went there they charged for cleaning, cash price was paid, they took the insurance and said that would take few days, which normally it would take 30 minutes in every other dental office. So for our surprise, they charged the insurance, never got the refund because they used as out of the pocket, and they still send me a bill. the bill that I received it was, they send the claim to a different dental insurance. I have been a patient here for around a year and a half. In that time, I've had 4 root canals and multiple crowns. Recently, I was having pain in another tooth so I came in and saw Dr. Camejo. We located the irritated tooth and he immediately said that it was going to need a root canal. I was baffled by this, since he even confirmed on the x-ray that there was not much decay there visually and it didn't look like the filling was that close to the root. Immediately after Dr. Camejo left the room, they showed me the cost for a root canal and tried to have me schedule with the endodontist in the next 3 weeks. This made me uncomfortable so I decided to get a second opinion first. The new dentist that I went to took one look at the x-ray and said that the tooth was not in need of a root canal and that the filling could be re-done without an issue. Within 30 minutes, my filling was replaced and I was no longer in pain. It is possible that, in the future, this tooth will need a root canal, but I value conservative treatment when it comes to healthcare and I would expect to be offered a new filling before being pushed toward a root canal. Also, this meant that I would be in pain for weeks before the root canal procedure. DO NOT GO HERE FOR DENTAL CARE. I am very upset and will be asking all family members to find a new dentist. I do not feel as though this practice cared for my oral health at all and that I was only looked at as a dollar sign. read more

Don't go to this dental office or take the "$59 offer for teeth cleaning". I scheduled an appointment with them for the same offer which was advertised as a free teeth check up and after that if your gums & teeth are healthy you get the $59 clean. They said that I can't get the offer because it needs to be done deep cleaning and quoted me $600 to do it, I denied and they charged me $120 for the check up because I didn't proceed with anything. Keep in mind it was advertised free checkup and if your gums & teeth are healthy you get the offer, there was no disclaimer that if you don't go with the offer or you don't qualify for the offer that you have to pay $120 which is a joke. Oh wow! I had a bad experience as well. They told me that my wisdom teeth needed to be extracted yesterday. Although I have no infection and no pain. My previous dentists told me consistently I had room for my full erupted wisdom teeth. They gave me a quote for 5500 USD and also said "just so you know our oral surgeon is only going to be here once a month." I told them I needed time, later the dentist said "'maybe we'll monitor the teeth." If I needed the extraction yesterday why would he say that? They also told me I had an infection for one of the pockets, I asked "can you see the infection." They answered "no, but it is there." It did not make sense!! I'm honestly concerned about my recent visit here. While the staff was friendly, I left feeling unsure whether the treatment recommendations were genuinely necessary or just upsells. I came in for a routine checkup and was told I needed to replace a recent filling -- even though I've had no pain or issues. The explanation felt vague, and I didn't get clear answers -- just more things to pay for. I ended up being pressured into a deep cleaning that cost $800, and they strongly pushed a $300 bacterial laser treatment on top of that. I declined it, but even with their in-house insurance, the total came out to $1,500 -- which was shocking. The cleaning was painful. The hygienist didn't have a light hand, and the whole thing felt aggressive and uncomfortable. Terrible customer service, at the consultation my daughter and I went there because she had an infection with one of her wisdom tooth, it was literally a five minute console. I had gone to the bathroom and they called her in by the time I got the bathroom. It has been 2 years since I have seen a dentist. I went to Naples Smiles and was impressed with the quick appointment options, convenient location, office was clean and friendly team. Dr. Cruz was professional, kind and spoke quickly detailing periodontal symptoms and explaining why I needed deep gum cleaning then every 3 month follow up service. I was surprised I needed all this as I had been consistent for many years at my prior dentist. I had never needed deep gum cleaning even after not seeing a dentist for many many years. He mentioned the word "transparency" multiple times then brought in the front desk lady to explain my insurance costs. After leaving my appointment I started to feel like I was hard closed on the process. I reached out to my prior dentist and had them send my perdiontal chart and noticed my numbers were the same for all my visits dating back 5 years. I did not need deep gum cleaning. Nor did I need every 3 months periodontal cleaning. I emailed my periodontal chart to Dr. Cruz for review and informed him I only wanted normal cleaning and to fix my crown. The kind front desk lady told me he would only do as he prescribed....deep gum cleaning. I went to another dentist who checked my teeth and cleaned them on the spot. Beware of this place. Their billing practices are extremely sketchy. If you have insurance, they will charge the full amount of the procedure up front. You will then have to wait for the insurance company to pay the dentist office. At that point, they will credit your account. They will NOT tell you that they are doing this. They lie and say it is more because you are seeing a specialist or something to this effect. They are also extremely unforgiving if you miss your appointment. I was in the hospital and missed my appointment. I actually called them from my hospital bed, before my appointment (it might have been slightly less than 24 hours). They said it was no problem. I called once I got out of the hospital to make another appointment and was told that I owed them $500 for missed appointments and they would not schedule unless it was paid. They actually tried billing my insurance for the $500. Thank god my insurance company denied. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with this office. On my initial call, they requested a referral for the endodontist, which I promptly sent, but never received a call back. After I followed up, they claimed they didn't get the email. I sent it again, and the person on the phone confirmed they received it and promised to call me back. The same thing happened the following week. Finally, a very attentive lady ensured that the endodontist got my X-rays, but after all that, they told me they don't take my insurance--even though their website clearly states they do. To make matters worse, I asked for the cost of a root canal as a cash payer, and they quoted me an outrageous $2,600! Other places I contacted ranged from $1,350 to $1,650. Beware! Dr Cruz is very dishonest. I went several times over 2 years and every time I went he said I needed a crown. I didn't want to get one and in subsequent visits he was trying to scare me, telling me my tooth was going to crack and I would need a root canal. I finally went and had it done. The next visit he told me I had a cavity and needed another crown because it couldn't be filled. I didn't want to have another crown so I didn't do it. On my last visit I went in because I had a chip in a back molar. I just wanted to get it checked even though it wasn't bothering me. He told me I needed a crown and would eventually need crowns on my front teeth because they were going to crack soon. After that I found a new dentist and she told me that she didn't see anything wrong with my teeth. I wish I had read the reviews before I made the first appt. Lesson learned. Luckily I only got the one crown out of the 5 he said I needed and not sure I even needed that one. read more

This place is an absolute scam. Despite my diligent dental care and regular 6-month checkups, they falsely diagnosed me with periodontitis. They took an excessive amount of X-rays (over 25), causing significant discomfort and making me gag for at least 10 of them. It got to the point where I told them I was done taking X-rays. The dental assistant had to "ask the dentist if it's okay to stop taking X-rays." I replied, "I don't care, I'm done taking X-rays." The dentist then pushed an unnecessary treatment plan, including scaling with bacterial decontamination (laser), a periodontist consultation, and two crowns(I was already aware of 1 that my other dentist was watching). The periodontist consultation would only come after I did the scaling, which seems backward--shouldn't that have been done first to get their medical opinion? When I requested a regular cleaning instead, I was told they had to "ask the dentist" if it was permissible. They finally "allowed" me to have a complimentary basic cleaning, but there wasn't enough time left since the first part of the appointment took over 1.5 hours, and I had to leave for another doctor's appointment. So, I would have had to come back another day. All of this, and not even a basic cleaning was done. I left with an outrageous estimate of over $2,000 for unnecessary dental work. I've canceled all future appointments for myself and my family. We will never return. read more

New to Naples and needed to establish all the basics. Found naples smiles because it was close to home and took my insurance. Reviews seemed positive. I regret setting foot in that nightmare place. My first visit, I was told my teeth were falling out, I had severe case of periodontis, and I needed a deep cleaning. I was obviously frazzled and upset hearing this. My previous 6 month check up from old dentist never expressed any issues. I went ahead with the deep cleaning and was going to do their every 3 month cleaning. I found a new dentist and got a second option. No issues and basically ripped off by smiles. I did not need all the stuff they told me. I swear- this dentist put a huge dent in my wallet. Decided to visit a dentist for a check up in Naples while visiting family. I was not disappointed as Dr. Andres Cruz and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Cruz himself is very personable and has a no-nonsense approach to explaining your dental situation and next steps. I wish my own dentist at home was this good in explaining stuff! Please avoid this place. They only care about is your money. I had got a new crown done starting of the year with them it did not even last a complete year. The crown cracked with in 10 months and the clinic is not ready to replace the crown as it did not last as they had promised. When i got the crown they got me the crown which they make instant in the their clinic ( 2 or 3 hours ). Also i was charged a hefty copay( around 400$ extra compared to any other normal crown ) as my insurance mentioned they do not cover charges for this instant crown. After the crown chipped i did visit their clinic to understand why this happened they said there are no guarantees. And also they are charging my insurance for this visit too. The quality or material is not that good they should have taken the responsibility and got me a replacement. But they did nothing and also charged my insurance for this visit too. Also the clinic gave me a new estimate for another crown for 1500$ dollars as copay. I would never ever visit this clinic again. read more

Especially post 2020 it's been a nightmare to find steady care that accepts insurance and doesn't reschedule you several times over. Naples Smiles has hit it out of the park. SCAM ALERT!!! I came in as a new patient for a consultation and had a terrible experience. I have dental insurance that covers consults and X-rays. However, Dr. Cruz billed my insurance for $844 to which I have to pay the majority because it: "exceeds visit limit". For a consultation!!! They did so many unnecessary X-rays and radiographic images and then overcharged my insurance company who then refused to cover the bill. They also told me I need a scaling and deep cleaning (another $1k), which my insurance company has also said they will not cover. If you are considering going here, please don't! I am fond of their ceramic crowns, no more multiple visits. However... they use the same business model as Aspen dental with the dentist, manager, and finance guy arrangement. Can't help but get the not so fresh feeling, but not as bad as Aspen. I also was booked for a secondary appointment that I was not really informed about. Last October I found NSD after a bad experience at another office. When I went in I was greeted by a very friendly young man and woman. (I wish I knew their names) The friendliness didn't stop there. Literally everyone that I passed in the hallway looked happy. This was the first time I met Cassidy and Dr. Camejo. Whom I now refer to as Cass and Dr. Cam because I've been back to the office for myself and my partner a total of about 10 times in the last three months and have been treated like family by these two in particular! Helen and Danielle at the front desk have gone above and beyond for myself and my partner! I really appreciated Dr. Sinamati making eye contact and introducing herself to me before my root canal. She had such a soothing energy and her hum was soothing too. Nice voice! I also need to mention Jade. One of my visits I was getting some teeth extracted and she was an angel! Thank goodness for her hands over my ears and nurturing energy. She was also with me during my recent root canal and again, I loved her care. oMG I am seriously worse than a four year old when it comes to needles and pain and dentists. This place is top teer all the way around. Every single person there is genuinely kind and caring and helpful. Shout out to Helen in the front, who seems like everyone's mom in the best ways, and Dr. Daniel Camejo in particular. She was amazing and he is like a superhero. He even let me hold his hand after my partner left when a different doc was in my mouth with a needle. He was so so incredible and funny and kind and competent. I got two same day crowns on my back molars and they are so perfect this morning (day after) that I literally forgot I had them...I did not cry once! Zero pain the morning after. They explained everything so perfectly and were beyond anyone's expectations of patient. Wow! Unheard of...I cannot recommend this place enough. Seriously the best and most professional and friendly service I've ever received. I loved how they helped me through a lot of my fears and getting woozy when gettin injections. It is embarrassing to me and takes its toll on me to recover. They were patient with me. Did not rush me at all. First time I've ever been under anesthesia and I was terrified but the way they handled everything from start to finish was so amazing. I was so scared and each and every person there for my appointments was by my side helping me. Not just one person. Every person in that office is extremely pleasant and kind. I am a Snowbird without a Dentist in Naples. Having a filling fall out after dinner one evening, I had no idea what to do. After going on line and finding a practice that took my Dental Insurance, I called Naples Smiles early the next morning. I was able to get an emergency appointment as soon as the office opened. The receptionist was kind and courteous and understood my anxiety. The Technician took some x-rays of my tooth and seated me in a dental chair. The Dentist came in and gave me some choices of what repair was needed. I felt very comfortable with the approach he recommended to fix my tooth. I was told how much my insurance would cover and what my "out of pocket" cost would be. I was in and out with little anguish.
