Now this might sound like hyperbole but as someone I see with great frequency it matters a lot to me. I found AMG on Yelp and based on reviews tried it. Well after my cut and experience it was well deserving of 5 stars. You book an appointment online and you are all set. You are sent multiple reminders which is helpful. There is a massive open public lot behind the stores so take advantage. Walking in this place has a beautiful aesthetic, it was classic barbershop meets the modern elegance. It is really an experience from the moment you walk in until you depart. I sat in a beautiful waiting area and soaked in the atmosphere. My barber Yosef greeted my and it was like meeting an old friend for the very first time. As I sat down in the chair, Yosef asked me what I wanted and consulting with me, we figured out a new look for my hair. He continually said "I want to do exactly what you want so you are happy" this attitude was amazing and it showed in the care he took to his craft. I have been to many barbershops/salon in 37 years but this was different. My barber had a vision and he truly put in the work to visualize it. My cut was a processes and honestly it felt like not one single hair that was supposed to be cut was left. He did not miss and his attention and care to detail showed. The entire experience with a hot towel shave (you have to try it) was worth it and more. It is not your typical barbershop prices but given it was more than "just a barbershop," wonderful friendly staff, knowledgeable barbers, and I walked out with a new look. I confidently feel I found my new barbershop. 5/5 stars!

The worker was transparent immediately about being appointment based. However he stated if I could possibly give him a few minutes to reach the shop he will take me immediately since I am only getting an undercut done. I would've been fine with just accepting that they're appointment based for the day off the simple fact that when I called someone answered!! He was patient with my request and not dismissive because I didn't have an appointment. The vibe is definitely simple and straight to the point which I like. No sheep in wolves clothing. I waited no longer than the time he asked me to wait and got my cut by a professional who made sure to clean his hands and equipment before event seeing me, with great customer service and to be honest the same amount of talent as the barbers at "the groomsmen of Long Island". So if you ask me, I would rather spend my hard earned money here than anywhere I have to worry about a barber lacking customer service and also becoming threatening to a female. Other than that, I consistently paid premium prices and trusted this salon (specifically Eleanor). Last month, I brought my daughter in for a keratin treatment. Both Eleanor & the owner clearly explained that it was not 100% guaranteed to get her hair to be straight and that it's a process that requires maintenance. I understood the risk & agreed to proceed. Eleanor spent about 2 hours on my daughter's hair and the cost was $200 + tip which I willingly paid. After one wash, her hair returned completely to its original frizzy state. I took photos & called to speak with Eleanor--not to ask for a refund, but simply to understand what happened and discuss a possible solution. Instead, I was met with unpleasantness, unprofessional attitude & defensiveness. Eleanor said, "I spent 2 hours on my feet doing your daughter's hair & we told you it's not guaranteed." I calmly repeated that I wasn't asking for my money back--just an explanation or guidance. I never called back again to discuss the keratin treatment because I felt she was so defensive and they will not offer me any other solution. A week later, when I called to book my usual root color appointment, I was told--after checking Eleanor's availability--that I was no longer welcome at the salon. After 7 years of loyalty and spending a significant amount of money, this is how I was treated for simply asking a question. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for long-term clients is extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this hair salon to anyone. Their customer service and sense of loyalty to long-term clients are far below what you would expect from a professional business.

Usually, they would ask the people walking around to check not tell the customer to walk back there while they were on line.
