    Fisherman's platter
    Erin C.

It's all about the location! Dining is on a big porch that over looks New Harbor. The sun also sets there! They have Adirondack chairs on the lawn for enjoying a nice glass of wine while taking in the view. The food was just mediocre. I had the fisherman's platter. It consisted of A 1 1/4 lb steamed lobster, mussels, clams, red potatoes & seafood hush puppies. The hush puppies were the best! A little spicy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with pieces of lobster meat. The lobster was bland and tough. Seamed to be over cooked. My husband had seafood paella. It was made with risotto. Kind of odd! Only a couple pieces of seafood through out. The risotto made it soupy! The service was very slow. Our reservation were at 6:15. We didn't leave until after 9. I'd go back, but just for a cocktail on the lawn to view the sunset.

She was absolutely running circles around everyone--making drinks, helping guests, answering questions from multiple staff members, and somehow keeping everything moving despite being pulled in every direction. She handled a busy bar with professionalism and a great attitude. What really stood out, though, was watching the chef come out and speak to her in an incredibly rude and disrespectful way in front of a full bar. No employee deserves to be treated like that, especially not someone who was clearly carrying so much of the workload. Kudos to her for staying calm, keeping her composure, and continuing to provide excellent service despite being spoken to in such a rude manner. She was the reason our experience remained positive. I hope management recognizes how valuable she is--and also addresses how inappropriate that interaction was. 0 stars for an uncomfortable experience with the chef. 5 stars for professional bartender

The location is unbeatable and the view from the…read moreoutdoor dining area is spectacular... but you don't have to be a guest there in order to enjoy those two things. That's about where the good review stops. We never received housekeeping service despite asking for it twice. Their staff is gone by 6 PM so they can't help you unless it's an emergency. The hotel is NOT like the pictures! I mean, the decor is, but the hotel is very, very old and definitely "lipstick on a pig." We got a two bedroom suite and the bathroom was the size of a shoebox. You couldn't sit down on the toilet without bumping your head on the sink. Fair warning - no elevators - when you arrive, they tell you to walk two blocks down the street with your luggage and then up a two flights of stairs. No offer of help. We asked for an extra room key and they said "oh, we don't do that." We told them we were disappointed and they ignored the message. Worst customer service we've experienced at any hotel in a very long time. It's a shame because it has potential.

We had family on the trip with us who joined us for drinks and she attended to all of us and the other quests. She was the attending to the front desk, bartender, etc. She did not miss a beat. Impressive! We were on the island in Sept. My friends stayed here and loved it. I come often and have had brunch here, but this is the first time we've stayed. The room was spacious. My 10yr old loved her pull out bed. She asked us to stay longer she had so much fun. Our room was the Tosh. The view is great, they have cheese and wine in the evenings and like I said I've had their brunch, it's great. Emily checked us out and I asked if she would be there in Aug/Sept. Told her wood call her to book and I look forward to seeing her. She was amazing!! I also have to give Rita a shout out. I met her in Sept and she was such a gem to my friends who were staying there. They are all very accommodating.

First off, there was "Robyn"- I'd heard previous reviews , but honestly; until you meet her, you just have no idea how special this woman is!! When I say, she's a ray of sun shine-I mean it. She exudes positivity, kindness, graciousness!! She greeted us immediately, and gave us a brief orientation. Offered us lemon infused water, showed us where we can grab fluffy beach towels,, etc. gave us a tour of the grounds and incredible views. Then she showed us our room. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area-and made some wonderful dining recommendations. Our room was very cute. It has a country cottage appeal-bedding was high quality, as were the bath towels and toiletries. Our bed was so comfortable with the best pillows I've ever slept on. Bath robes were also provided, which was also such a nice touch. Our daily breakfast delivery was very special. I loved all of it-there was such an attention to detail-like a ramekin of Maldon salt flakes to add to the tomatoes on my lox and cream cheese bagel. Orange juice and coffee press every morning, and always a well balanced breakfasts. Eating off of hand crafted pottery made the meals even more appealing. I loved all those special touches. Any time we'd see Robyn in passing, she would always greet us with her beautiful smile and wonderful energy. She is such an asset to sea breeze. I'm sure the proprietors must know what an absolute gem they have in Robyn. Our room was close to the main road-so we did have to deal with a bit of street noise, however, it was also ticked all the way in back, which felt more private than some of the other cottages.

We had a nice balcony facing the town that we spent time of at the end of the day until the loud family in the neighboring room started hanging out in theirs... Too close, no privacy. Free coffee in the lobby was a plus but they were out of sugar the second and third mornings that we were there (even after we brought it to the staff's attention on the second morning). The food is just okay. It seems as though you pay for the atmosphere, not necessarily the quality. The drinks were pretty good, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the service we received in the restaurant and at the bar. The beach was sort of a free-for-all. On one side of us there were families with young kids playing in the sand, and on the other side of us there was a large group of twenty-somethings partying on the beach. We were lucky enough to witness one girl vomit and pass out because she had too much to drink. I'd blame it on kids being kids, but you're not allowed to bring outside alcoholic beverages, so I'm more inclined to blame over-servince, irresponsible hotel personnel. All-in-all, a MAJOR detractor from our stay.
