For paying $20 for chicken shawarma plate (which they gave me another item I didn't order at first and I had to wait another 20 minutes) I would expect more on the quality. Chicken was good but the rice had a weird and burnt flavor....

We got the chicken shawarma plate, spinach pies, and the falafel sandwich. Everything was so good! Lots of flavor, good sized portions, and filling. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Had an itching for a gyro salad for lunch and for some daft reason,lentil soup (only 88 degrees).Temperature inside wasn't much cooler,to my partners chagrin.The soup was disappointing.Lacked the flavour of say,an Indian lentil...

soup.But the salad!No problem.Generous portion of lamb/beef gyro meet and fresh lettuce,tomato,cucumber etc.Grape leaves were also very good.This is a small cafe with maybe eight tables.A lot of the business is takeaway. No alcohol,just soft drinks.I've been coming here for years...definitely one of the best Mediterranean style food establishments in the area.Just a little language barrier with the staff but they were genuinely keen to know if we enjoyed our meal,which is a nice touch.

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 So this place was just ok, as far as Greek food goes this was a different kind of Greek food, a little bit heavier on the spices, and not as "light" as were used to. That being said, I had the grilled chicken dinner shown below, husband had the gyro meat dinner, kids had the beef kebabs. Unanimously all the flavors and meals were "just ok". The service was slow but pleasant, and the restaurant itself is a little rundown, which is not a bad thing but in this case it could use a little update.

Wow oh wow this was so amazing it felt like a mother's love cooked it Such a generous helping, enough salad to go with every bite! Delicious vinaigrette salad dressing too. I also love the 8 olives that came with my plate, a good palette refresher. Not pictured is the gyro which was so amazing, the best gyro me and my fiancé ever tried! I love all the seasoning and the sauce that came with the kubeh paired together really well; like a mild oil and balsamic flavor almost. The seasoning on the fries, the plating, the desert section, the atmosphere, the service, all so divine. Definitely try this spot out!

Got beef shawarma plate. That's the worst plate I ever got from this place. Beef was hard to chew. No salad dressing. Rice had no flavor. $20 wasn't worth it !

I love the shawarma sandwiches! If I want leftovers I'll order the shawarma plate. The grape leaves are good too. You might have to wait a bit because the food is cooked when you order it. Keep that in mind and bring your patience in exchange for really good food!

After a long 12 hour shift, I was craving some Greek food, you know a big plate with everything, and pita bread. I usually go to a place about a block from here but the reviews looked good I figured hey let's try it. I order two of the most expensive plates on the menu, two beef kebob plates. They come with rice, beef kebob, salad, and HUMMUS. Much to my surprise when I get home is that there was no pita anywhere. I called them back, but they told me the kebob plate does not include pita and they're separate. Well buddy, you gave me hummus and nothing to dip it with... and did not tell me that pita was NOT included. I am tired of restaurants nickel and diming us over cheap bread. Buddy, give me the pita. I hope you enjoy saving your .25 cents, because I will not be coming back, I will continue to go to the Greek place a block away that not only has great food, they provide you with a lot of pita bread with their kebob plates.

The owner was very kind and friendly. Nice family owned restaurant I really enjoyed the baklava the honey on it was a nice touch. The chicken was a little dry But the gyro bread was so good! If I could Just buy the wraps I would!

Went here based on my affection for Greek food. I got the beef/lamb gyro and my wife the chicken shawarma sandwich plus Greek fries. All very good only complaint would be that some of fries could've been cooked more. read more

Really good gyros, and we thought the rice-stuffed grape leaves were particularly tasty also. These don't taste greek, there is some sort of other spice or flavoring on the lamb/beef gyro slices, and we liked it very much. Very fast service and friendly. Fries were good we always stick them in the air fryer for a few minutes when we get home with the takeout. We got a slice of baklava, it was super yum. read more

Wonderful service and FRESH food. My dad and I ate here and the owner showed us so much hospitality. We enjoyed our food, service, and conversation. We had a craving for Greek Food and stumbled upon this place. I cannot say enough about their food! It was amazing! We ordered chicken and beef gyros, as well as the hummus and pita. The rice was seasoned deliciously. I wish I had taken a photo of the food before hand. It was gone before we knew it and both my boyfriend and I said we would add Narrows Gyro into our regular rotation of takeout restaurants. read more

Couldn't believe their prices- so good. Our favorites were the kibbeh, lovely spinach pies (not phyllo, really like a hand pie with a nice dough), baba ghanoush, and chicken shawarma. The Greek fries were really tasty too. I was only lukewarm about the beef gyro, the style of meat isn't my favorite- fine ground meat with a dense texture. Tasted good but texturally not my thing, so I'll stick with the chicken. This place was especially great because besides being really delicious, it was nice to be able to get their super reasonably priced small(ish) items and try lots of things. Impressive portions for the price for the small apps! read more

Pretty tasty food. The gyro looked great, one of us had it, they gave it a thumbs up, I had the beef shawarma, it was a bit dry...expected it to be sliced beef but it was more like stew meat. The rice was perfect, nice salad...definitely would go back....but will order the gyro next time! read more

So good!! The owner is Palestinian and he has a unique flair to the spinach pie! it was fresh out of the oven when I arrived! The gyro was spot on and freshly cut meat not prepackaged. Amazing food. I got the Turkish coffee, beef gyro, and I forget the exact name of the dessert, but it had the option of nuts or no nuts. All of it was amazing. The bread that the gyro came in was so warm and soft. Highly recommend. The owner was also very friendly read more

I have eaten 30+ times at Narrows Gyros. GREAT FOOD and lots of it. Being of Greek Descent, I have eaten many of his offered dishes so I know "good" when I eat it. He makes the Best Tzatziki sauce I've ever eaten states side. And his lamb salad is my FAV!!! My husband always gets the lamb gyros with Greek fries covered in feta cheese. It's truly a hole in the wall with great home cooking. I'll keep going there !!!!!!! read more

We were searching for Halal food after visiting the zoo. We were not disappointed. Authentic food. I had the Chicken Schwarma which was tasty-spicy just as I requested. Others had the Meat Schwarma sandwhich both served with a dollop of garlic sauce. Another had a plate of garlic fries with chunks of tender chicken.We chatted with the long time owner who was friendly. This restaurant was so clean . We will be be back for sure. Everything tasted good and I ate most of it, so no leftovers. :-) Someone brought the food to my table, but you are responsible for bussing your tray yourself. Al Bacha is a nice, casual place to get Mediterranean food and I would come here again the next time I'm in Tacoma.

Didn't come with enough pita bread but our attentive server noticed we were out and brought more. Wife ordered the gyro sandwich and it was good. I ordered a beef shawarma sandwich and the presentation was perfect. It was dry though and could have had sauce (will ask for some sauce on the side next time). Ordered a side of fries and they came in a cute fryer basket. Had a nice lunch and wi be back!

Many special dinners and celebrations were had within the walls there. When updates to the menu were made, it seems like much more than that changed and it hasn't been the same since. Knowing how many wonderful meals we've had there we gave them the benefit of the doubt, everyone/everywhere has bad nights. Unfortunately, we went back tonight and were shocked to find the restaurant nearly empty. We got a table in the bar so my husband could keep an eye on the basketball game. and while service was better it wasn't great, food was dropped off by someone who said not a word, literally dropped plates and walked away, and food was good but not the standout it once was, drink was also pretty awful. So sad to see such a shining star of a place in Tacoma fall so far. Seeing almost empty on a Saturday night confirmed it's not just us that has noticed such sad changes to the place.
