Both types of quarters have their qualities- just depends on how you like to vacation. There are so many things to do here! Beautiful indoor pool. Really nice tiki bar next to the "conversation pool", a rec building with pool, darts, cards... There are volleyball nets, shuffleboard, mini golf, pickleball courts and more! We've never stayed in one of the"park model" units, but they look lovely. There are dances on Saturday nights and themed weekends during the summer. We love it out here. A couple things to keep in mind: This is a FAMILY resort. There are a few families with kids. Sort of took me by surprise when we first visited, but everyone is very relaxed and take all things in stride. This is NOT a swingers place. No one is looking to "hook up". No one cares about the size of your butt or whether you have weird surgery scars. This is a place where everyone enjoys what you can't do most other places: relax, feel comfortable in your own skin and meet new friends. As a woman, I can honestly tell you I was freaked out about going the first time. We're taught to obsess about cellulite and wrinkles. I've never felt as confidant and comfortable as I do at TLR. It becomes obvious right away that no one judges you... about anything! Once you shed your clothes, no one can tell if your rich or making this the one vacation you can take every couple of years. You don't have to compare yourself with a anyone else on any level. And guys... don't worry about being aroused or embarrassed. After a little adjustment period, when you get used to people being friendly and smiling a lot, you just don't feel like you have to be someone you aren't either. You get to know people for who they are. It sounds corny, but you feel natural here. You appreciate people for what's inside. I'm still a little bummed that they don't have the motorcycle rallies anymore (such a blast!) but everything else keeps getting better here. ;) You should visit! Really! (Bring SUNSCREEN!)

Narrows to the Rescue!…read more My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in a VRBO on Lake Morrison, and the Pontoon that came with our rental stalled out in the middle of Lake Randall:o! We could not immediately get in touch with the owner of the rental nor his caretaker, but Narrows Pontoon and Cottage rentals not only answered our call, they dispatched Jim and Jack immediately to our rescue! They towed us in to our dock perfectly, and would not take any money for the service, not even a cash tip. They were timely, professional, and saved our Anniversary! We will forever be grateful and will always make sure to send business to the Narrows when we visit the North Chain of Lakes again. Thank you, Jim and Jack!

It was quiet and we couldn't hear anyone in neighboring rooms. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. We had a standard king room on the second floor. Check-in was easy and our front door overlooked the pool. I don't think the pool was open when we were there because it was still chilly outside. It was a great experience, but frankly it was just a bummer that it felt like the entire space was geared towards gay men rather than queer PEOPLE as a whole. As a queer woman, I just wish it had felt like I was represented too, but it's okay cause not every space is for me! I also don't know if it's the norm, but the bar was pretty empty for a Saturday night which just didn't give the vibe for dancing I was hoping for. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Would totally stay here again if needed/staying in the area and would recommend to someone who is curious! I don't think I'd seek it out independently just because I live in Grand Rapids and it's only about 45 minutes away and again, feels like the vibe is more focused on men.

From the moment we pulled in and drove down the long drive towards the resort, I knew I was in for special evening. It felt like I had awaken in a different age and time. The lodge is over 100 years but beautifully maintained. Eating on the front enclosed porch was a delight and so peaceful to look at beautiful Lake Cora. My mind kept wandering to what this area was like back in the 1920s when there were 2 resorts on Lake Cora and a train that brought people from the Chicago area. What a magical time that must have been. Bob and Susan are delightful hosts. They love Oak Cove and it shows in all the lovingly details throughout. Antiques are plentiful in every room, old photos and newspaper clippings that have been framed are hung on the walls. It's like walking into a time capsule. Touring the Lodge I kept saying this is so cool, I love this, how adorable. Every room is unique and special. Dinner at Oak Cove Resort is amazing. Everything is prepared and cooked in their kitchen and a lot of the items are from scratch. We started the evening off with a salad from the most unique salad bar ever - an old antique bed, covered with a beautiful quilt, and topped with a glass panel that holds all the delicious salad fixings. The lettuce was very fresh, a huge amount of toppings to chose from, and lots of different dressings. Monday night is Roast Beef night and Bob serves up the tenderest roast beef that I have had. The slice was just perfect for me. Mashed potatoes with homemade gravy (no words can describe how delicious this is), and helping of peas, and dinner roll. You can also add a dollop or two of horseradish sauce. If that wasn't enough, dessert was a chocolate brownie with ice cream. I literally thought I was in heaven. On top of that the coffee was just how I like it. We then walked around the resort. The Funhouse, filled with old arcade machines, books, puzzles, card table, TV, and bar, would definitely be fun place to hang out. The in-ground pool was very clean and is a big. The beach area had Adirondack chairs set up to sit and relax. Individual cabins are scattered through the grounds, along with a huge area for kids to run and play. What a memorable evening. My next to-do is to book an evening or two at the Oak Cove and transport myself to another time where life seemed slower and simpler.

They put in a new splash pad, have made a lot of nice improvements, and yes, the bathrooms were really clean this time :). We recently stayed at the Sun 'n Sand Resort in South Haven and feel that after talking to the…read moregeneral manager, that our issue would need to be presented to David Krock, or whoever Terri, the manager, directly reports to. We had worked with manager since June of 2025 on reserving the resort for our daughter's wedding (which took place Saturday, July 18, 2026). In the process of establishing room assignments (which we did all of the leg work on), the manager told us that to hold the resort, that a $1500 deposit would need to be paid. She even went on to say that if we decided not to use Sun 'n Sand for the booking, that the deposit would be refunded. To us, this seemed reasonable, especially since the website specifically states, "For just the cost of the rooms (which each guest pays), you can have the perfect wedding hotel room block at Sun 'n Sand Resort!" Then, as you can imagine, we were shocked to have the manager tell us this March that the $1500 deposit was not actually a deposit at all, but a $1500 fee! We found this out when we asked her to apply our $1500 deposit to our room cost, and she told us she could not. By this time, we felt that we had no choice but move forward since accommodations could not be made elsewhere for the size of group we had, and we chose to deal with this after the wedding to keep everything running well for our daughter's big day. Given that the website does not mention the requirement of a $1500 fee, nor do their posted policies, we would like our $1500 refunded. We felt that we can amicably resolve this issue without having to publicly post our experience on review websites like this, or seek resolution through the Consumer Protection Team of the Office of the Michigan Attorney General, but our calls and website feedback to PermaVentures (owners of the resort), went unanswered. I can't recommend this resort due to lack of transparent pricing.

The sandy beach area is level and sits up high above the rocky shoreline. There is a sloped path that gets you down to the water if you are feeling adventurous. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well stocked with towels, coffee and toiletries. The king-sized bed was reasonably comfortable, but sounded like it had a broken spring - very loud and creaky on one side. There were no bedside lamps provided, and one outlet was not working. We enjoyed the in-room jacuzzi and fireplace after we figured out how to turn them on. The property was mostly empty when we stayed during the week in early May, but we could hear the guests below us. I think, when fully occupied during peak season, it might get kind of noisy.
