Certainly would agree with my associates that joined for lunch, that this restaurant is something unusual for a "Kosher" establishment. Korean, Kosher... I think ethnic foods turned kosher is a very interesting experience, especially if you can get it right. In this case, I loved the flavors by a (fairly) new restaurant called Narrúto Bowl, on Cedar Lane in Teaneck NJ. The only complaint is that it could have been hotter (temperature, not spice). Choose your broth, add a protein (I did the Chicken and it was tasty and tender), then a few more options and the serving size is generous (with a soft boiled egg on top). The food is a bit on the pricy side, even compared to other restaurants in the area. The service is very good and the food quality and taste are also quite good. It's not the most "authentic" Asian food, but it's not really meant to be. It's fusion, so there's a lot of authentic flavors in the food, if not necessarily arranged in strictly authentic ways. I've been to Narruto Bowl six times. I've developed my favorite dishes though all are delicious and packed with flavor. The Chef's professionalism and his love of cooking is evident. Unique must haves? Korean fried chicken sandwich. Texture. Wow. Flavor. Excellent. Shonkotsu. With delicious slices of beef and crisp vegetables and noodles with great consistency and a medium soft boiled egg. Elevated with green curry with nice mixed herbs and a little spicier kick. Bao nuns are unique and great little soft pillowy sandwiches, or The BaoWOW has a veal spam like meat and fries. Their potstickers are oversized and have a great fresh flavor to them. Dessert? Yet another business in teaneck that wants to tap the affluent jewish community rather than actual regular people. Nothing on the menu is under 8 dollars and no portion is made for a human being but for mice. This is basically rock and roll sushi across town. Same prices, same portion. Same focus on the jewish crowd. I am personally never going to dine here again. 94 dollar order that was meant for 5 people fed only 2. Better suggestions for japanese would be yakitori 39 near queen anne or batten ramen in fort lee. Ended up here because I was over at Holy Name Medical Center and did a search on Google maps for ramen. Great space and ambience. Staff was nice enough. I've had a lot of ramen in my life, and this wasn't ramen. Broth was thickened with starch. The noodles were tasteless and had no bite. The egg was a regular poached egg, and not the usual umami eggs you usually see in a real ramen. And what was up with the fresh salad on top of the bowl? The prices are obscene - they charge more than the top tier ramen restaurants in NYC! Can't recommend this place. read more

Possibly some of the worst Asian food I have ever had. I myself would normally keep a review to word of mouth, but if you have any semblance of appreciation for Asian food or Asian culture, avoid this restaurant at all costs. The food was too oily, oversalted, yet somehow had no flavor. The service took forever, and it took over an hour for our order to arrive (only 2 people). The ramen broth was disgusting and way too salty, along with chicken that had a ridiculous amount of fat still attached to it. I had been looking forward to a nice evening at a kosher Asian style restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. AVOID! read more

Pretty awful food. The ramen was sour, the chicken was (most likely) premade and frozen for a while. $350 bill for 6 people, and that doesn't include a waiter bringing or pouring water. Way too expensive for a fast-casual dining environment. I took the ramen home because I couldn't stomach it -- figured someone else at home would eat it. I am Japanese and grew up on Ramen so I want my ramen made right. The menu was a bit confusing. I had the chicken ramen. While I appreciate the effort put into making the men (noodles) and the presentation, the toppings, etc, the broth was just too salty. I like the thickness of the broth but waaaaay too salty. Place is overpriced and food is lacking in flavor. My daughter and myself were very disappointed. Sorry but will not be returning again.

1st I couldn't understand the limited menu. 2nd no drink menu. 3rd the food came super late and the dumplings came after we got the main dish. The folks that came in after we ordered got their food before we did; it seemed like we order the same exact same things, but we got our food last; they were bigger group of people. 4th The food had no taste and it felt like microwave fast food. 5th was extremely over priced. A total of $189.18 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children. 6th I was charged for a serving charge and when I asked what's the serving charge meant they said it's an automatic serving charge for groups of 6 people or more. Which confused me when we are a family of 5. 7th my daughter couldn't enjoy it since her bowl had an egg which she's allergic to. She also found the rice noodles disgusting even though my wife said they were good. At the end we all ended up enjoying our youngest daughter French fries while noticing other patrons enjoying food from a menu that was not offered to us even though we asked if they had another menu when we sat down. read more
