Late post- visited Bao Dumplings as i had a boba craving and this location had just opened recently. We were welcomed and noticed the restaurant was super busy with patrons eating and people picking up orders. We ordered lychee tea and matcha creme brûlée with boba. There was a slight wait for our order but overall a good boba drink. We didn't get to try any of the bao buns but will go back to try them one day soon! Awesome addition to have nearby!

We came here for lunch during Saturday noon. It was a gorgeous restaurant, looked so new with wonderful wooden interiors around the tables and booths. They had ordering menus in each table, so it was super easy to put numbers next to the items we wanted and hand it over. We ordered the crab & pork soup dumplings which had 6 pieces. Dumplings were good with soft chicken inside and good amount of soup. The beef noodle soup was also good, beef was tender. I loved the shrimp with lobster sauce wok fried dish. Shrimps were huge and lobster sauce was so delicious. The chicken dumplings had a dozen pieces and came with 2 sauces. They were soft and tasty too. But all dumplings had really thick outer layer. Wish it was not as dense. Thinner dough would have tasted much better. I also liked the fruit tea drink. The dishes came out quickly. Service was good overall. It was a really good lunch experience for us.

Newly open Bao Dumpling and Bao Tea at Fair lawn NJ. Nice and simple decor inside. Clean and spacious for the seating. The staff are friendly. Food came out pretty fast. We had chicken dumplings, crab/pork soup dumplings, beef noodle soup and shrimp with lobster sauce. The dough of dumplings are a little too thick. Beef has too much fat. But all are tasty and flavorful. We also got mango fruit tea(?) and milk tea with boba. I'm pretty sure they use brown sugar which is great!!! The boba needs some work. The texture is inconsistent. I got some good ones and hard ones in my drink. Overall some small things need to be work out food-wise. But a good spot for meals or small food and tea.

THE GOOD ---------------- + Coco Mango Fruit Slush was very refreshing. + Nice to see a Shanghainese-style restaurant in the area. + Plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - The employees were relatively blah, but it seemed like it was just their demeanor. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Food was good in most areas, but did have a hiccup, however all of it came out super hot and fresh. + Pan Fried Pork w/ Scallion Dumplings came with 12 pieces and was excellent. A bit on the pricey side at about $1 a dumpling, but it was very good. + Sauteed Veggies with Beef (extra $4) came with A LOT of beef and was delicious. + Crab & Pork Soup Dumplings was solid and comparable to some of the better Soup Dumpling restaurants. It stayed hot for quite a while, despite us not eating it till the middle of our meal. - Bao Special Wok Fried Noodles (w. Chicken, Shrimp and Pork) was OK. Noodles had an "interesting" taste to it and we needed to douse it with the Soup Dumpling vinegar to make it more appetizing, but it did come out very, very fresh like everything else. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Restaurant isn't huge, but on a Sunday evening at 5:45 - 7 PM it never got extremely busy, so there was always an open table or two.

Pretty yummy dumplings! I like the pork soup dumplings, despite other reviews I think they had a great flavor. The wrapper is a little thick but it's the normal thickness for US bao. The veggie pan fried dumplings were also delicious, didnt taste like I was eating veggies. Had a lot of flavor and I loved the ginger sauce it came with. The bao chicken is a huge plate of pan fried white chicken chunks that were huge and hot. Very fresh, had a goopy sweet and slightly spicy sauce on it. Came with 4 pieces of broccoli and white rice. I got an iced tea boba with strawberry popping boba. It was huge! And I loved the popping boba, and they were able to do no ice and no extra sugar. The only negative was they charged extra for the chili sauce, and we didn't know that because we only looked at the white menu where you check off your items but it's on the other menu, $2. There are a couple tables inside, it's a cute place and I would come again!

Came here for an early lunch as soon as they opened and it was just my party (4 adults, 4 kids) the whole time we were there. This may be more popular for take out rather than dine in as there isn't much seating inside. Initial upon entering was that it's bright and clean. There wasn't much going on so hard to tell how good their service is when it's really busy. The service was fine but our server could've probably thought about placement of our dishes based on where our kids were seating. Because our kids were off to one side of the table, everything was left to the opposite side, which was fine.. but now one end of the table just had all these dishes clumped together, rather than having everything in the middle. At one point, our hot ramen was placed in front of the youngest kid which clearly isn't very ideal. Not a big deal for me, but something for the staff to consider. Food itself was decent- we ordered fried rice, soup dumpling, pan fried dumplings, some cucumber appetizer and a few orders of bubble tea. I thought the food was good and would definitely order from here again, but the soup in the soup dumpling wasn't very flavorful and the pan friend dimpling (shown in picture), I thought the dough was a little too thick. I ordered this lavender bubble tea which really didn't taste any different than a regular flavored bubble tea so that was a little disappointing, but for the price and the size of the drink, it's worth trying other flavors. I would come back and consider ordering other dishes to try if I'm craving Chinese food, but I wouldn't go as far as to tell you to run to this place. It definitely hit the spot for me and was good enough for me to want to come back and try other dishes.

Getting straight to the point. Pork soup dumplings: broth lacked depth in flavor. It was quite bland but the filling and skin was good. Bao Chicken: sticky glaze was really tangy and delicious. Chicken was juicy and our favorite dish. Boiled Dumplings: skin was very thick and filling was bland. Would not recommend. Fried Chicken & Onion Dumplings: better than boiled but the skin was too thick and not impressive as dumplings. Pork chili sauce was not spicy at all. Spicy Sesame Noodles: sesame sauce was pungent in a good way and noodles were nice and chewy but not spicy at all sadly.

I'm giving this place 3 stars mainly because I expected the dumplings to be more flavorful. The beef dumplings were just okay--nothing particularly memorable--and the sauces didn't really elevate the dish. On the other hand, the Bao Fried Rice was pretty good. There weren't many shrimp in it, but that was expected. The Citrus Sunset with mango boba was a pleasant and refreshing surprise--definitely a highlight of the meal. Service was solid--our server was kind and patient throughout. The restaurant itself is quite small, so seating might be limited during busy times.

Came here for lunch and was impressed by the food. We ordered a pork soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, noodles with minced meat, beef fried rice, and a couple of bubble teas. For the most part everything was food. I especially liked the fried rice and beef noodle soup. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is inside a strip mall so there's plenty of parking.

    - Fried pork and scallion dumplings were hot, fresh, and juicy--dipping sauces added nice flavor; Crab and pork soup dumplings were just okay--lacked flavor and had thick wrapper, but vinegar sauce had a pleasantly surprising kick; Special wok-fried noodles with chicken, pork & shrimp was disappointing--no wok char at all and heavy white pepper flavor; Sautéed mixed vegetables with beef was tasty and well-cooked--hot, saucy, and flavorful - Coconut mango slush was smooth, refreshing, and well-blended with no icy chunks - Staff weren't particularly friendly or attentive; no check-ins during the meal - Ordering system is confusing; laminated menu with numbered items doesn't match the order sheet - Feels like a modernized Chinese fast-food spot with dine-in seating; ample space and tables - Distracting background noise; loud banging from kitchen at times and constant ringtone sounds at the cashier counter--maybe from incoming pick-up orders

Finally a bao spot in the desert of central / western Bergen county- (for those of us tired with the American beef and broccoli). Did takeout since all tables were taken. Still working the kinks out however food is decent. The pork bao a 6 out of 10. The soup dumplings 4 out of 10. The wrappers were nice and thin however not much soup and there was something missing flavoring wise. The hit was the spicy wonton. Will definitely be back tho.

Tried a new dumpling place recommended by my friends! The boba was amazing, and the pork buns and soup dumplings were pretty good. But unfortunately, the service was really disappointing. I wanted to order boba first, but the male server insisted I check off everything on the paper menu. I explained that I just wanted my drink first and needed more time to decide on food. He ended up putting in my drink order. When I later ordered pork buns, soup dumplings, and spicy noodle soup, he completely forgot the noodle soup. He asked if I wanted to pack up the leftovers and keep asking me to bring me the check...only then did I remind him I had ordered 3 items. He looks so confused and realized his mistake then so he apologized and said he got confused. I pointed out that I followed his instructions and still didn't get my full order. What's the point of having customers fill out their own order if it's not handled properly? Also, the restaurant only had 2 occupied tables at the time, so I don't understand why I was being rushed to finish and leave. The food, drinks, and location were great--but the service really needs improvement.

After learned that they couldn't add a fried egg and no sausage option with the grilled pork, I opted for the three meat combo over rice instead, beef, chicken and lamb. The meat were flavorful and honestly I couldn't tell between lamb and beef in the end. But it was so good, especially with the fish sauce, yummy. Kids enjoyed the fried rice and wanted more of the spring rolls. Only dish that we were thrilled by was the beef stew, ok to skip. The place is small with limited seating. If you are a party of more than four you could have a hard time with tables. There was just one small round table that could accommodate a part of six, but beyond that, they will have to put together a few tables which is a challenge on the weekends. Location is super convenient. There is a Haagen-Dazs right around the corner and a laundry mat. Drop off your laundry, get some Pho, then stop by Haagen Dazs for dessert, sounds like a perfect night.

We arrived early, which was a good thing, as more and more people came in, including some families, and eventually there was a line of people trying to eat here. The service was friendly, though a tad slow, likely because they were overwhelmed. Since I had a headache, I got a Vietnamese Iced Coffee/Cà Phê Sữa Dá for $5.99. This was properly done, being lightly sweet with plenty of strong coffee flavor. On a side note, instead of the standard sriracha, they have a much tastier Vietnamese brand of hot sauce here, which I appreciated. We started with two appetizers. As they were out of the Curry Chicken Skewers/Gà Xiên Nướng Cà Rị, we started with the Lemongrass Beef Skewers/Bò Nướng Xả for $9.95, served with spring onion, fried onion flakes, and soybean peanut sauce. This was my favorite dish of the evening as the beef had plenty of lemongrass flavor, and was tender and juicy. The little side salad was a good accompaniment, and the sauce was nice, but not needed. I would recommend this heavily. We also got the Summer Rolls/Gỏi Cuốn for $7.49, with vermicelli, lettuce, mint leaves, pickled daikon, and peanut sauce. Said dish has a choice between shrimp and tofu, and we got the latter. These were standard with a slightly chewy wrapper and plenty of vegetables. This was nice and refreshing with a good peanut sauce. For my main dish, I got the Grilled Vermicelli Platter/Bún Thịt Nướng with Mỹ Tho vermicelli noodles, assorted vegetables, mint, and house dressing. The price depends on topping, and I got the $15.49 option with a combo of three, with my choices being pork, spring rolls, and beef. As with the appetizer, the beef was tender and had some lemongrass flavor. The pork was on the bone and likely marinated similarly to the beef and was also tasty, though a bit less tender. The spring rolls were freshly fried being hot and crunchy, though a little oily. They were my least favorite part, but I've never been the biggest fan of spring rolls, regardless of culture, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The fish sauce added a mild sweetness to the cold vermicelli, and I liked the dish a bit more once I added their hot sauce as per usual. This was good overall and a good portion size to boot. Another person got a Pho with beef and brisket for $12.99, and there was also a decently priced Combination Pho/Phở Dặc Biệt for the same price as my entree. I tried a bit of the broth, which was good, and there were plenty of noodles. The last person, who was not as hungry, ordered a very reasonably priced Chicken Bahn Mi/Bánh Mì Gà for $8.95, which they liked. This was an above-average Vietnamese place, and I could see why there were lines to get in. The food was decently priced, the meat was cooked properly, and the portions were nice. I would recommend it if you're in the area and you're looking for Vietnamese food.

Oasis Poke Bowl: This was deliciously refreshing as well, however it doesn't come with any sauce. I asked for a side of teriyaki which made everything better; elevated the entire bowl. Surf N Turf: I will order this moving forward as my go-to roll. The beef was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the salmon. This roll itself filled me up, I thought I was going to order something else but I was done after that. Salmon and Shrimp Teriyaki: My partner gets this each time and I am always so excited to throw my fork into his plate. The teriyaki sauce here is so tasty, I want to put it on everything! The salmon and shrimp are also cooked super well, no chewiness here. Great amount of crisp on the salmon, the way it slides onto the fork is beautiful to watch. Vegetable Gyoza: The star of the show!! Best appetizer they have truly. I was so sad when there was no more. But thankful to have been able to experience such a great starter. Sweet Potato Roll: (Not pictured) The roll was ok, I liked it but felt like it was missing something. Maybe I would have liked it if it was Korean sweet potatoes. I won't order again because the menu is so extensive I can't limit myself to something I thought was ok. (4/5) Overall, Shokudo is a fantastic place to eat. It's truly an experience. The music is amazing and not overbearing, the ambiance is beautiful and there's multiple conversation pieces. Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. We visited Vietnam Pho in Woodland Park, located on Rt 46. It's in a business complex so there's plenty of parking. It's a casual, cozy, and family-owned restaurant with a spacious seating area. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The menu offers all of the Vietnamese classics you're craving - steaming bowls of pho, vermicelli noodles topped with fresh vegetables, crispy banh mi sandwiches, stir-fries, and a variety of grilled meats like lemongrass pork and chicken. And if you're a boba lover, they even have bubble tea. Prices are reasonable, but here's a big tip: You get a 10% discount when you pay with cash. There's an ATM inside. There were a few hits and misses with our order, but overall we left feeling satisfied with our meal. The misses: *Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk ($5.95) - This was much sweeter and thicker than I expected! It tasted more like a dessert drink than an iced coffee. The condensed milk's sweetness overpowered the coffee flavor. I have a big sweet tooth, so I still enjoyed it. But if you're sensitive to sugar, you might want to skip this or ask for less milk. *Fresh Shrimp/Summer Rolls with poached shrimp, vermicelli, & peanut sauce ($7.95) - Not a fan. The rolls were bland and mostly just filled with vermicelli noodles. The peanut sauce was a let down. The flavors were off and it had a watery consistency. It barely tasted like peanuts. I don't know if they used too much vinegar or sugar, but either way... the ingredients were completely unbalanced. Now for the hits... We came for the STAR DISH: PHO! Every order comes with rice noodles, beef broth, white onions, scallions, and cilantro with a side of bean sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapeno peppers. We ordered: *Pork Chop Pho ($16.95) - I absolutely loved the lemongrass marinade (made with lemongrass, fish sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, & shallots)! The meat was juicy, sweet, and savory. I could tell the chef grilled it perfectly because of the smoky charred edges. *Rare Beef & Well Done Brisket Pho ($14.95 size small) - They did not skimp out on the protein here! The beef cuts were large, tender, and flavorful! The broth was the heart of the pho - aromatic, warm, and rich! The spices (cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, and coriander) made it taste even better. I always enjoy adding hot chili and hoisin sauce for that extra heat and sweetness. The noodles were silky smooth and soaked up all that beefy broth. Yum, yum! And you can't forget about loading up on the garnishes to add a satisfying crunch and more flavor in every slurp! Pho was the perfect comfort food on the coldest day of the year~

Every single dish is crafted with so much care, flavor, and passion that it becomes impossible not to come back again and again. The taste is something I honestly cannot even begin to describe--you just have to experience it. Sato, the owner, is one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. He goes above and beyond for every single customer, and it shows in everything he does. You can feel his passion for cooking in every bite. He is always smiling, always welcoming, and truly puts his heart into his food. The dish in the photo is called "Aja's Special," and it says everything you need to know. My husband couldn't even wait for me to take the picture--his fork was already going in for a taste. That's how irresistible it is. This is not just a restaurant--it's an experience. A warm, welcoming place where incredible food meets an incredible person behind it. Just a warning: you will get addicted. Without a doubt, this is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey.

I definitely love this restaurant…read more We order to go as my assistance device can be a challenge with going into eat at restaurants but I intend to eat in the restaurant first chance I get. I loved the chicken ramen, the mango chicken, the crab salad, the veggie gyoza, the harumaki. The matcha cheesecake, the bubble tea are all among my top picks for the best. The service is good. Jenny is friendly. The dining area is charming. Highly recommend trying their food.

What a great little ramen placed tucked-in Glen Rock!…read more Came on a Sunday afternoon and nobody was in the restaurant! It's not too big --- maybe sit 20-30pp. max. However, it was a comfortable setting. Food-wise, tried several dishes: the takoyaki ($10), the karaage ($9) as well as the Ika Furai ($10) for appetizers, along with the Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen ($19.50). The appetizers all came out fairly quickly, and were nice and hot. Highlights were definitely the karaage and takoyaki (although I may have a bias to them). I though the Ika Furai (fried calamari) was going to be "pieces of tentacles, etc", it wasn't. It was the same calamari rings you can get anywhere, so I'd pass on that. However, let's talk about that Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. The ramen broth was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The toppings were great --- and the egg was a nice jammy consistency. The noodles were a good texture, and the soup was served nice and hot. That black garlic provided the right backdrop to such a wonderful rich ramen. Don't even get me started on the charred-tonkatsu. Such a beautiful meaty piece that was sitting on top of that bed of noodles. Totally recommend this. Pro-tip: ask for some spicy-oil on the side, then you get the best of both worlds - black garlic and spice. Overall, I totally recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy that ramen craving. You don't need to go to Paramus, or the Palisades, or even Ridgewood --- just go to this small business, you'll find big flavor!

It's one of those spots you could easily drive right past if you weren't looking for it. Almost looks like a house from the outside, but inside it's a cozy, welcoming vibe. We went during lunch and took advantage of their $12.95 specials--great value. I had the basil fried rice with pork, which had a nice level of spice--flavorful and delicious without being overpowering. It came with a spring roll and a lemon tea, which was perfect--not overly sweet. My wife ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp--loaded with peppers and onions, super flavorful, and cooked just right. She paired it with a Thai iced tea, which was also on point. Food came out quickly, served hot, and the presentation was clean. Nice little touch with the cucumbers served alongside the fried rice. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to--next time for dinner. They reopen at 4:30, and I've got my eye on those Bangkok wings. Owner was mad cool too.

My daughter had the beef short rib ramen, and I had the Khao Soi Ramen with short rib. They give so much tender short rib. I didn't even care about the meat because the broth was one of the most delicious curries I've ever had. They checked on spice levels to make sure I'd enjoy (I have an insane love for heat) and gave us their homemade chilli oil and powder on the side. We also had a Thai iced tea, which was perfect because it was balanced rather than sickeningly sweet. Service was friendly and quick. We ate in the store, which has a few tables. They were doing a bustling takeout, but it wasn't noisy and it is nicely decorated and clean. Will be ordering again and again and again. I already ate some of my leftovers. Highly recommend.
