Excellent deli/restaurant - went with the classic: pastrami on rye, cole slaw and pickle. Washed it down with a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. Staff were super friendly and while busy my lunch came out quickly. I brought home some latkes and matzah ball soup. Ate half of latke when I got home and it was legit. Foster is hands down Best in Bergen without question.

I enjoy a good kosher deli from time to time. It is expensive which is pretty standard. The pastrami on rye wasn't bad but didn't jump out as anything special. The baked spinach knish was bland. Wouldn't reorder. They had all sorts of things and looks like they make a lot of it fresh. Not sure I will be back. 3 stars.

This deli always satisfies. From sandwiches, soups and knishes, they're all good. Never a bad choice coming here, whether it's for pickup or delivery.

NJ Smokey Joes - triple decker sandwich with three slices rye filled with layers of Nova lox, whitefish salad, egg salad

This is my go to place for catered trays of the type of epic sandwiches than one can only order in Northern New Jersey. Back in the 1930's, the mayor of Maplewood visited an establishment in Havana called Sloppy Joes. They served him a cocktail sandwich so memorable, he had it recreated at a kosher deli on his return home. This transplanted triple decker sandwich, is not the bunned tomato saucy ground meat of the same name, but of sliced deli delights. Deli Sloppy Joe's are made of Pastrami, Roast Beef, Turkey Breast on three layers of thinly sliced Rye bread with coleslaw and Russian dressing. The fraternal twin fish course is the Smokey Joe made of Sliced Nova Scotia Lox and Whitefish Salad and Egg Salad on three layers of thinly sliced Rye Bread. I order a 1.5 serving tray of each so that there are a few left for a snack after the main event. Do get more than you think you need. You'll thank me later. Break your anti sugar clause and wash it all down with some Dr. Brown's soda.

The sandwiches are fantastic. Pastrami is especially good. If you like tongue you can get it here and very good. Great for holiday dishes.

Early into the new year I received an email "2025 Daily Voice Readers' Choice Awards" and it was…read moretheir 'Best Deli in Bergen County' that caught my attention. "Bambino's?! New Milford?!" - as someone that hits an Italian deli every single weekend I had to make the trek to see what's what. I excitedly walked in first thing on a Saturday morning and my Spidey senses started to tingle that something was amiss. In this long narrow storefront a lot of shelf space was given to... various bags of chips. And there were at least two racks full of... bagged breadcrumbs?! Everything just felt 'off' from all the other Italian delis in surrounding towns so I just got two items (which set me back over $40) and I found it really odd that instead of a secure plastic container for the meatballs and sauce they were put in a foam takeout container instead. (Really?! For something this soggy?!) As for the (overpriced) items I picked up? The meatballs and sauce - very good. The breaded chicken cutlets - extremely disappointing. The two people behind the counter - incredibly friendly. No joke: I immediately took a ride over to Luigi's in Wood-Ridge to get all the other items that Bambino's didn't offer. I'm baffled how this joint 'won' when Bergen County has an abundance of much better places... Michael's Salumeria (Lyndhurst), Annamaria's (East Rutherford), Piccolo's (Ridgefield), Bartolomeo's (Englewood) and, of course, Luigi's - all come to mind. (Yelping for a lot of years, over 700 reviews and still less than 40 two-star review. I really try my best to avoid being a Negative Nelly but sometimes...)
