The breed of my puppy is naturally not trusting of strangers, and our instructor made sure to never push our pup into anything she wasn't ready for. For puppy kindergarten, she also allows you to attend multiple classes each week, for no additional cost! We definitely took advantage of this since our pup started out very shy of dogs as well. She's an extremely patient instructor, and typically will go over 2-4 different things each class. She also introduces a different agility item each class, to socialize the pups to the equipment. There's normally 2 puppy playtimes each lesson, one at the beginning and at the end. I'm appreciative that she also locks the doors at all times, to avoid any accidental escapes. The only critique I could give is that sometimes the lessons can be a little disorganized and can get side tracked a bit, but overall the lessons are fairly cheap. Also, I noticed this comes up as an Auburn company, but our lessons are out of the Kent Memorial Park building on Central.

This was unacceptable behavior for us because she needs to be on her best behavior at all times. It was getting to the point where I would avoid another dog if one was walking on the same side of the street. Jennifer is very knowledgable and you can tell right away her years of experience with working with many different breed of dogs. She likes to keep her class limited to a certain amount of dogs to make sure that she spends the appropriate amount of time to work on each dogs issues and our concerns. I heard of a dog training class nearby that sprays the dogs face with water or bitter liquid in order to get them to stop doing bad behavior. This was not the way that I wanted to train my dog and traumatize her. Jennifer does not believe in that sort of negative reinforcement. Our dog has learned so much already and she is not even done with the classes. My husband and I have seen a HUGE improvement on her behavior and have learned many training tips that have proved to us that they really do work! Pick of the litters pricing is VERY reasonable and is a great investment to having a better dog.

The staff here are always friendly, helpful and sweet to our fur babies. We love that they have events to celebrate holidays, birthdays and much more! The lighting in there is great too! So glad to have this PetSmart near us and look forward to all future visits.

My experience with Deborah has been very mixed. My dog is very well behaved with one exception -…read moreshe barks at the door. I scheduled a private session at my home with Deborah since this is the only place where my dog barks. She called ten minutes past our appointment time, asking if we were supposed to be meeting (we had scheduled this two days prior). Deborah and her trainees finally arrived, the training did go relatively well. My dog responded well to the techniques used, but I was very surprised that I was not involved in the training. I did not practice with my dog at all during the session. Also, the only thing my dog learned during the $150 session was to make eye contact when her name is called in order to earn a treat. A majority of the time was spent with Deborah and the two gentlemen she was training giving my dog treats in order to warm her up to them. In total the session was a little over an hour. While I was impressed that my dog stayed engaged for that long (usually during training she gets bored after about 20 minutes), I did not feel that the amount of improvement was worth $150. I emailed Deborah for advice the next day. My dog sleeps with me and was running to the front door to bark before I could command her to calm. This lead to a good amount of barking before I was able to get to her. It took two weeks to get a response and I was told that I was the problem and I needed to crate my dog at night. Crating is not an option because 1. I need my dog to sleep with me and 2. when we tried crating her originally she multiple times hurt herself trying to get out. The response was that I needed to spend more money on more training. I understand that one session can only do so much, but I really feel more could have been taught to me and that for the amount I paid there should be some more advice via email/phone to follow up.

I am curious to know how many people they've said this to?? Again feeling sad and hopeless, my husband almost put Loki down...but I refused and found a trainer that ending up saving his life. This trainer was the best thing that had happened to our dogs!!! Here's the thing. We listened, tried everything they told us. They gave us bad advice, did not teach us how to work our dogs and put us and our dogs in a bad situation at the dog park. It gives me a terrible stomach ache just thinking about what we all went through with this place and all the money wasted. -Deborah talks the talk, but does not walk the walk -Does not have experienced training staff -Uses only harnesses -They did not teach us the tools to be successful on our own -Found ourselves asking what we're supposed to do when we weren't at lessons, even when we asked for answers -Told us to put our dog down and to give the other away -Deborah only cares about getting paid. Loki did not get his third private lesson that we paid for.. And did not complete the full board & train If you have a dog who really needs help, especially with obedience or behavioral problems, message me and I'll tell you where we got real help and real results. I believe it because on his last day there, he's been afraid of people, paces, flinches when I go to pet him and is a completely different dog. He used to be such a happy boy. They also refuse to let you see what is going on in the area where they keep the pups. Everything is hush hush. I asked about two injuries and never received an answer. My pup came home with a penis infection and a cut elbow. My pup will never go there again. Some of the staff is also not very nice. The manager is rude and aggressive. These people should not be working with dogs.

The staff is super sweet. I got a "pupdate" today and couldn't have been happier when I got it.read more
