I came here with my family for the first free Saturdays and it was great. The checking process was very smooth as we reserved tickets in advance. Our first stop after walking through the lobby was outside where the grounds were beautiful. They had a snack line where we waited on that had lots of good savory and sweet options. From there we enjoyed our snack outside and then went back inside to do some of the fun crafts they had for our kiddo. The artists hosting the crafts were super kind and helpful. My daughter had so much fun creating her flag and rock crafts! After that we went back outside for one last craft and to explore all of the artwork around the grounds. The mature trees and sculptures were amazing and we truly enjoyed our first time at Nasher! We will be back in the very near future to explore the inside some mor

People have been raving about this place since I moved here. Despite visiting the DMA next door regularly, we never found the time to come here. I always imagined being in the sweltering Texas heat wandering around their outdoor space looking at sculptures while swatting mosquitoes and wiping sweat away. While that might be the experience of some, it wasn't for me. Once a month, the Nasher Sculpture Garden has a free late night event. It usually starts at 6:00 pm and goes until midnight. This means you can escape the heat of the day and the cruel Texas sun. I had no idea how popular this event was. If you are looking for something to do with your crew, this is the place to be. There is always a movie showing on a large blow-up screen. The grassy area in front of the screen is sloped so that everyone can sit on the grass and still see the screen. The night we went, they were showing Ghosts with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. It was so popular and crowded outside that they decided to change the inside presentation room to the same screening as well. This was kind of a bummer for us because we were one of a handful of people inside the presentation room enjoying a documentary about the artist whose sculptures were on display. This room is not sloped and the chairs are all stiff upright classroom chairs, but the screen is large and high enough that you should be able to see even if the room were packed with people. We wandered around the outdoor garden for a few minutes. It was packed. Every plot of grass was claimed by groups of friends hanging out. It wasn't even possible to view the outdoor sculptures because there were people wrapped around them on all sides. On the steps of the building there was a DJ spinning some upbeat Latin tracks. Plenty of people were inspired to get up and dance on the makeshift stage near the DJ. Inside, directly behind the DJ and dancing, food and drinks were being served. for a fee. You might be eligible for a free drink or two if you are a member of the establishment. We were not, so we paid for a caprese salad and a lasagna plus two sodas. Alcohol was also available. Everything was served on biodegradable plates. You can sit in their interior dining area where there were tables and chairs or take your goodies out ti the lawn to enjoy with your friends. The exhibit area inside the museum doesn't allow food and drinks. Despite there being hundreds of people there, we were able to move around the exhibit space with ease. There was a short line to view the works in one small exhibit room. It had a capacity limit, so every time someone left the room, another patron was invited to enter. There were drawings rendered by the artist in the planning phases of his sculptures and engineering designs along the walls. The center of the room had tables in a labyrinth pattern that we weaved in and out of to see the smaller sculptures. Initially, we were going to skip this small exhibit room and the documentary playing in the presentation room, but I'm glad we did both. I learned so much more about the artist and his work. I was able to better appreciate all of his work. He had several large sculptures in various rooms as well. I really didn't have great expectations for the visit, but I was pleasantly surprised. The artwork/sculptures were intriguing, especially after learning more about the artist and the art. It is not something that I would normally do, but I really enjoyed the late night vibe and the energy of the young crowd. It is so wonderful that the garden offers this dynamic event for free to the community. If you have nothing on your calendar or are looking for budget-friendly ideas, this should be on your "to do" list.

The Nasher is a Dallas staple, and while this was our first time back after a while, it did not disappoint! The actual museum is regularly free, but we decided to stop by their spring-summer event called "til midnight at the Nasher." This is a free event equipped with an itinerary of love music, movie screenings, catering services, and even access to a full bar! The museum stayed open until midnight and omg! If you've never experienced the museum after dark! I highly recommend! We arrived around 8ish. And it was fairly packed. Not too busy! Parking was easy to find on the street! People brought their picnic blankets and were relaxing on the back lawn while the music played! It was all such a great vibe! We had access to majority of the museum art which is always such a beautiful thing to see! We enjoyed a cocktail or two from their bar, and while they came in plastic, they were for sure craft cocktails! Everything is more on the pricy side, especially the food, but overall it was a great experience and wonderful date night! We will be back with friends soon!

The Nasher Sculpture Center is a small museum and is famously known for its garden area. I genuinely enjoyed the exhibits and the garden sculptures. Minimalist yet impactful - highly recommended for first time visitors.

A friend and I went on a day that was free because they were in between exhibits. So we were mostly outside and I thought it was a very peaceful, beautiful space. I saw people just hanging out there, including a woman with a glass of wine and she said that she got it inside at the café. When we went in to get wine ourselves, it wasn't open, so that was disappointing. If I came back again, I would maybe bring a book and have a glass of wine and sit out there for a while. It is a pretty small space both inside and out, so if you were just going to look at everything, you don't need more than an hour.

nice museum and sculpture garden outside. it was really hot when i visited for one of the free museum nights, so would recommend going when it is cooler. the food they were selling were pretty pricey. drinks too. ended up just getting a soda. very nice garden though. the inside had two large sections with different sculpture and pieces. it was pretty busy and crowded overall.

This was a wonderful small sculpture museum. It reminds me of one of the museums I visited in NYC before. Nasher Sculpture Center has a beautiful garden. When I visited, some parts of the gallery were closed for installation. I visited on the first Saturday of the month which is free admission! Overall, it was a nice peaceful sculpture center with famous sculptors you may recognize as you go through the museum. Staffs were friendly and knowledgeable. They were willing to guide and provide information as needed.

The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas is a definite must-see when visiting downtown Dallas. We enjoyed all the different exhibits and the outdoor sculpture garden was more exceptional than I expected. I'm not sure about the parking. I did Uber to the location. The price of entry was reasonable at about $10. The gallery and exhibits were set up very nicely and the sculpture garden was incredibly peaceful. I came with a friend and we spent much more time at the center than we had originally planned. All the employees were very nice except two or three who came across as rude when talking with us. They were setting up for an event in the garden so I'm sure things get a little more stressful during these times. Still, I feel that they should be aware that as gallery representatives the way they interact with guests directly impacts the overall guest experience. Those people could benefit from changing their tone and word selection when talking to guests. SHOUT OUT for EXCELLENCE: One employee, Liz in the banquets area, was exceptional and went the extra mile for us to get us glasses of water when the cafeteria was closed. It was a very, hot day and we are forever grateful for her hospitality. I would definitely return to the Center when visiting Dallas.

In a world gone wack on prices,it's great to know you can spend an afternoon perusing art at a world class museum fee. On the first Saturday of every month, the Nasher invites everyone to experience the current exhibits free . Usually there are other activities. Today, live music, complimentary hot chocolate and a beautiful day combined with art to, replenish the soul. The current Exhibit Women and the land celebrates the development by several contemporary woman artists, creating on the land. Whether you like it or not,if you pay the slightest attention with an open mind, you will have at least one ah ha moment. Go

What a sophisticated, world-class museum and such a smart use of its space. The Dallas Museum of Art across the street could take lessons in space management from the Nasher. Its architect, Renzo Piano, has given us over a dozen incredible museums and this one is soothing and seemingly far removed from the busy city outside its walls. The permanent exhibit resides in the placid garden, complete with gorgeous weeping willow trees. Land Art has always been dominated by men, and the Nasher did a seemingly impossible job of showcasing the Land Art of 12 American women in two main rooms and a wee bit of outdoor space. I learned so many interesting things! For example: Patricia Johanson was invited to design a garden for House & Garden magazine in 1969 and rather than providing designs for the Minimalist-inspired garden the magazine expected, Johanson erupted in creativity, creating no fewer than 150 different proposals for visionary gardens. I love that. I used to live in Manhattan in the early 80s and didn't know why there were acres of wheat growing on Battery Park. Hungarian Agnes Denes had planted them in a landfill, juxtaposing them from the Twin Towers and the Statue of Liberty. At the close of the months-long installation, Denes sent the harvest of over 1,000 pounds of wheat to 28 cities around the world as part of The International Art Show for the End of World Hunger.

Amazing sculpture center. They have a lot of wonderful exhibits. The Sarah Sze portion was breathtaking, and they are currently showcasing the Haas brother's work. They also have staff who help explain the artwork. One of my favorite spots to go to.

What a beautiful place Nasher Sculpture Center is. My friend and I had brunch down the street and decided to stroll through since he had never been before. The exhibit inside was really unique and very diverse. At 3:30 they did an instrumental with the metal art components, that was really cool! There was a room that had an exhibit of sound that you definitely have to check out. It was a really dark room with focused lighting that tracks your movements makes a certain chord and melody. We definitely had a good time in there experimenting with the music. The outdoor garden is just exquisite. Beautiful pieces throughout the lawn, even a Picasso! They had several water features with a really relaxing soundscaping. It was a beautiful day and certainly a perfect into a relaxing Easter day.

Your DMA cards will be mailed to you in four weeks, in the mean time, use that printed receipt for everything. We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!

I went to 3 other parking garages before I found one that felt safe with an easy walk. We purchased tickets in advance ($17 - Super Sweet Karaoke) General Admisson. As we entered The Sweet Tooth Hotel you could hear the off-key Karaoke in the bar area. We received a room key at the desk for the additional 7-8 rooms. The first three rooms were vibrant and full of local art installations. I was obsessed with the Mad Hatter's tea Party themed room. The bar is fun! Lots of reflective mirrors. You can purchase desserts here as well as cocktails. I wish this place stayed open until 1am. We stayed until closing which was (11pm) I ordered the "sunset dream" cocktail. All cocktails are $8 on Fridays. The bartender gave great suggestions. I would definitely recommend going here if you're in the city.

The garden in the spring is beautiful with the flowers in bloom. You really feel like you are in nature with all the different plants, trees, trails, a creek, wooden bridge, wild flowers, and serenity. This time I avoided the parking fee by parking in a free lot at SMU and walking 10 minutes to the Bush Center. Overall, the gardens are a gem in Dallas. They are completely free and in some ways just as nice as the Arboretum, just smaller.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this library but boy was I impressed. I don't think any other presidential library could have the impact this one had on me, mainly in fact to 9/11. Second to being at ground zero seeing it from the Presidential library will leave you needing Kleenex or fanning away the tears as I attempted to do. It was truly something to see some of the items I'd only seen in media coverage up close and personal. You will have chills down your spine. There really are no words for this part of the museum but of course several other much lighter areas, filled with joyful memorabilia. I loved the pets area and the Oval Office replication. The baseball display, eggs from Easter rolls, his bible, menus, gowns, and many other items were highlights of mine from our visit. This is a fantastic library, and I'd highly recommend a visit. I love that it's on SMU's gorgeous campus. I'm also pleased I was able to purchase a 2025 White House ornament to add to my White House Christmas ornament collection. A truly great Dallas museum to visit.
