We are always amazed at the costumes and makeup and the hospitality of the actors. They come out to visit with the audience after the show and it is neat to see them in their get ups in the lobby with Norma lighting and the contrast with colors of the outside world. I definitely recommend this for a different evening out on a date or with friends, especially if you are a fan of film noir.

Stopped by the Majestic Theatre a while back for a Lyle Lovett concert. When you arrive parking can…read morebe a bit tricky as you'll need to either street park or park in a nearby garage. When you arrive you'll want to allow time to get through security/ticketing. Walking in you'll feel like you've been transported in time to an old Hollywood-style regal and lavish theatre. We sat on the upper level for this concert. Luckily the seats were pretty open on our row but may be a bit tight if you are sitting next to someone. This theatre is iconic and definitely worth stopping by for a show at least once.

Waters Edge is a winery and a bistro - so you can come for drinks or a meal or both. We were told that they make all of the wines on their menu, of which there are dozens of wines on their menu. I've been to a few urban wineries before, and it's an interesting concept. Waters Edge buys grape must (crushed grapes) from around the world and then craft and bottle wines made from that must at their locations (this Dallas location is one of 15 across the country). Wanting to try a few of their wines, the four of us shared two flights of five wines each. We tried the Tour of Armenia and Alec's Flight (a rotating selection of wines by their winemaker). Did I like every wine? No. But I thought most of them were pretty good. Personally, I'm not sure they need to make this many wines; I'll always prefer a business that does ten things well than fifty things fine (the Cheesecake Factory rule). But most of the wines were pretty nice (of the 10 I tried, I wouldn't drink 3 or 4 but wouldn't mind drinking the rest again). I appreciated that many of their wines are Armenian style, because I haven't had much opportunity to try Armenian wines. We also ordered a few snacks - they have a full food menu. We shared their Deviled Egg of the Month (2 eggs - 4 halves) and their Cheese is Life Board (two cheeses, hot honey, giardiniera, and crispy flatbread), which were both good snacks. They've been open just under a year, but the place doesn't feel quite lived in yet. The dining room has a large room divider in it, set up like a bookshelf. It has books and card/trivia games about wine and more. But many of these items were still wrapped in plastic, making it feel a little impersonal. The service was good, and it's a comfortable place to spend a couple of hours! The food we had was pretty good. The wines in my opinion are just okay - probably not the spot to take a wine snob on a date. But they have a large variety of wines, so you're likely to find one or many that you like. Not a bad place to spend some time if you're in the neighborhood!

Staff accompanied us in the elevator to our respective floor. This show had signature drinks and concessions near the elevators. There's a restroom on the floor with the stage. Blackbox feel. The show we caught felt like an alt-comedy production out of Chicago. So grand! There's street and lot parking. Keep in mind, it's downtown so mind the local signs. Unfortunately one of the security guards working was extremely rude, they just continuously yelled "keep walking". There were no instructions on people with bag go here, people without bags go here, so it just seemed like the line was going one by one. Then one of the people in my group had to stop at the table to get their bag inspected and I was trying to stick with our group as to not get lost and like I said there were no instructions given to go a specific place so I was waiting behind them and one of the security guards yelled in my face to "keep walking" and looked at me like I was an idiot for not reading his mind and figuring out what he wanted me to do. All the other security guards were very nice and had CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS for what to do so idk if this guy missed the memo but I think that situation could have been handled a lot better without having to scream at people who are trying to figure out what to do and where to go.

I like the staggered standing levels. A few different bars - lobby or just inside the theater to keep you hydrated. Parking can be easy on Greenville in certain places if you know where to look although as new restaurants are opening nearby I'm gonna lose my go-to parking. Love that the CD World owner bought this place years ago and made it such a great venue. Also love that it's in my hood.

Looks like the theater pulls in decent performances and I will definitely come back. There are plenty of surrounding bars and restaurants as well- but the parking lot filled up quick and people were driving around for a while searching for spots. I suggest showing up at least 45 minutes before a big show.
