I The waitress did an impressive job taking care of everyone. With the cost of managing an establishment I'm sure it's difficult to stay above water. So one waitress makes sense. BUT even so, this place doesn't cut corners. Not only are the servings very generous the food is incredible. I couldn't believe it was vegan. The aesthetics of the restaurant is very whimsical and could be a great date spot. There were families, couples, girl dinners going on, it was a vibe!!. I suggest you try the pineapple rice it was so good. The mango colada was yummy. It was a 10 out of 10. The owner Jackie was so nice and humble. She put the icing on the cake!! I can go on and on about this place BUT I'll let you try it and I'm sure you'll agree.

They were selling margaritas outside at this event. Me and another dad just finished our margaritas and decided to walk into Pet Shop with our empty plastic cups to see if they could make any to go drinks. We were greeted by Jessie at the empty bar. I told him "hey we have these plastic cups....any chance we can purchase to go drinks for the event outside." He said no...which was fine. But then he reached across the bar and snatched the cups out of our hands stating he could not let us walk out with the empty cups we came in with. He could have asked us to hand him the cups instead of grabbing it from us like that. We were stunned for a minute that that actually happened. So after that happened I asked if I can use the restaurant's bathroom. Jessie seemed annoyed...looked at us up and down and replied "the bathroom are for paying customers only." We took it as judgement as if the other dad and I were some kind of peasants. We ended up purchasing 2 margaritas at the bar in order to use the restaurant's bathroom. The margaritas were good and priced good($10 each). The business was empty. Wasn't like he was busy. The bartender Jessie was acting like an a**hole. You shouldn't work in the hospitality business if you lack basic customer service skills.

Came for the vegetarian food, but not sure I'll return…read more The space at the back is pretty open and there are quite a few tables, including nice size booths for groups. No table service so you order at the bar, which wasn't a hassle at all. As the night went on (8pm) the music got pretty aggressive and extremely loud. I get that it's a bar, but there were probably 30 people inside and suddenly you couldn't hear the person sitting across from you. The food consists of typical bar fare, but it's 100% vegetarian. I like the loaded tater tots - they're nice with a few jalapeño pieces, the savory "meat", and topped with creamy cheese. I've definitely had better wing alternatives and vegan ranch sauce was not good. Lastly, we tried the pet shop tacos and they were mostly void of flavor in a dry tortilla. If you're a vegetarian and looking for late night bar food, perhaps this will do the trick. If you're looking for a good dinner and a couple drinks in a super laid back environment, maybe not.

The Good: The concept is cool, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into unconventional dumpling stuffings and unique flavor pairings. The Bad: For a casual dumpling and noodle joint, it ends up being surprisingly pricey. Also, some of the fusion flavor profiles can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on your palate--not every creative combo quite hits the mark. It's a fun spot to check out if you're looking to try something different, but given the price and mixed flavor results, I'm probably in no rush to make it a regular rotation.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!

From the moment we walked in, the owner personally seated us and ended up cooking our food himself. He has a quirky, memorable personality that adds to the charm of the whole experience. You can really tell the ingredients and spices are balanced the way Thai food should be -- bold, savory, a little spicy, and deeply satisfying. Everything we ordered had great texture and presentation as well. Overall, it was a unique dining experience with authentic flavors and a memorable host. Run by a mom & daughter duo, Amma & Nur-E are truly so down-to-earth, full of positivity, and their energy is luminous. Amma is genuinely passionate about her craft and unbelievably humble! We arrived 10 minutes before 8pm and were greeted by Nur-E who literally shook our hands and welcomed us with open arms. The restaurant seats ~18 people so you can imagine how intimate, curated, and deeply rooted in tradition this dinner felt. Amma is from Dhaka, Bangladesh and with every course that came out, Nur-E described it to us in her expert storytelling ways! Everything we had was incredible. The Mango Lassi is blended by hand for that perfect consistency and refreshing, lightly sweet, homemade taste! After 5 whole courses came out, Nour-E came out and told us we had 7 more to go! So definitely come hungry and know you will leave beyond satisfied. My favorites were the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash), the Rohu Fish Fried, the Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao, Beef Curry (Gorur Gostho) and Khashir (Goat) Biryani. Basically everything we had!! Each dish was balanced in depth, richness, and heat. The meats & fish were so tender, the rices were unbelievably fragrant, and the sauces were aromatic and layered rather than just spicy. The Rohu Fish Fried is imported from Bangladesh and lightly coated in spices and pan-fried until golden brown. This was my first time having this fish and it won't be my last! The Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao will live rent free in my head for a long time. It's richly caramelized, light yet aromatic, and deliciously comforting. I can see why this is usually a celebratory dish and is the only dish that Amma will serve at every Dawat Dinner! This dish is so popular that you can now find the recipe on Food & Wine. Speaking of accomplishments, the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash) was named one of The New York Times' Best Dishes of 2025. We were also so lucky that Amma made her Mishti Doi for dessert! It's a sweet yogurt that has a custard-like creaminess and was the perfect way to end the meal after all those incredible flavors. We were so grateful to get a special one in a traditional clay pot. Also, there's tons of food but the staff will package any leftovers for you to take with you! They've literally thought of everything to make this an exceptional experience. Nur-E closed our dinner saying "food is life's greatest connector" and I couldn't agree more! Amma is truly an inspiration for opening Korai Kitchen at 61 years old, becoming a James Beard Nominee at 67 and getting 3 Stars from New York Times, and now signing her first cook book deal at 69. This is definitely in my top 10 meals of 2026 and is one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. I can't recommend Korai Kitchen enough.

I went back and…read moreforth about whether to leave an honest review, but ultimately felt that my experience was worth sharing. For context, my friend and I are both brown and were on the younger side compared with the average age of the other patrons that evening. The host/owner was genuinely lovely and welcoming, so unfortunately the service was especially disappointing by comparison. Throughout the dinner, we were repeatedly overlooked by our assigned server. Toward the end of the meal, while other servers were going around asking guests if they wanted a second helping of dessert, we had to flag down a different server because ours never came by. The most frustrating part came at the end. As the restaurant emptied out around us, everyone else was given to-go bags for their leftovers and had their bills brought to them. We received neither. Our server, who had largely ignored us throughout the meal, continued to walk past us without checking in. We ultimately had to wait while the restaurant essentially cleared out around us. We didn't leave until around midnight, after spending roughly half an hour sitting there waiting to be given our bill and leftovers. I really wanted to root for a brown-owned restaurant and hoped this would be a place I could come back to, which made the experience particularly disappointing. I understand that restaurants can have an off night, but being consistently overlooked throughout an expensive dinner--and then essentially forgotten at the end--left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I don't plan to return.
