We were looking for swimming lessons for my daughter and someone recommended the swimming classes at the aquatic center. The center has lots of parking and is huge. The pool and the facilities are always clean. The lifeguard instructor was super sweet and my daughter learned a lot from the classes. It was extremely affordable and my daughter had a blast. I would highly recommend for swimming lessons. The only annoying thing was that they dont allow strollers on the pool deck which was inconvenient for me and my infant! read more

Nobody ever answers the phone or provides website updates. It's impossible to know when it's open. I suspect it's not open today because Merrick Avenue is closed, but who knows or cares? We're now stuck in traffic for an hour because they don't provide updates. read more

Didn't know this place existed until recently. They have a massive pool with lots of tracks for swimmers. They have a few diving boards and some high dives. The tallest one is three stories! There are diving coaches that train kids in the evenings. It's super cool to watch from the bleachers. They remove the line tracks so it becomes one large open pool, prime for divers. The NCAC also has a fitness center which you can see from inside the pool area. They probably have even more amenities I'm not yet aware of. Happy swims! read more

What type of park uses Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticide products? Eisenhower Park does, all neatly situated at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. The snobs at the front desk threw a fit about placing public information papers to try to get the boxes removed. Apparently they don't care about First Amendment rights or the lives of Red-tailed hawks or Bald Eagles. read more

Good gym and pool overall but anyone that's older than 50 in this gym has never heard of a towel in their lives and will walk around the locker room completely undressed like they own the joint, and it's everyone over that age that it's actually scary. Don't let ur kids in the locker room alone if you care for their future sanity and don't wanna scar them with the old bodies they will see on a constant basis. read more

Having been a member at Flushing Meadows Aquatic Center for the last six months and then visiting Nassau County Aquatic Center located in Eisenhower Park, the difference between the two is black and white. I don't know how much membership costs, but I assume it's more expensive than Flushing just cuz it's Long Island..lol The main difference is the quality and cleanliness of the facilities and swimming pool. The locker rooms in this aquatic center are very clean. Lockers are well maintained, and the showers are adequate. Swimming pool, like the one in Flushing, is split into a few sections for classes and open swim. Outside, there's a decent sized parking lot. read more

The facility is amazing but do you know what's not, the staff. They were so rude and gave me a hard time. I'm still underaged and to give me an attitude when I can't pay with credit card is just messed up. They said I was making it harder than it should be but how hard is it to handle cash or card (like 5 mins out of your day sir) like seriously. The man at the front desk is plain disrespectful and I hope he gets the coffee he needs. The lifeguards are also rude telling me to wait in the locker room eying me every minute. Can I just swim in peace please without feeling like some kind of felon on the watch? read more

Facility is really nice however the concession stand was not available the day that we went for the Catholic high school swimming neat. Bathrooms were super clean and lobbies were kept very nicely. Great place for all those in Nassau County to enjoy swimming read more

Have mercy, part of me blames myself for driving to the aquatic car after 6PM because in the past the hours ended at 6 PM. Instead I looked at the website and found that the hours posted were til 9 PM. Foolishly I'm in the parking lot since 8:15 PM and the center is closed. Does it mean anything to you that I love you? I want you to know that I'm reading my question as if I'm being asked by the love of my life and I can't be alone or angry in my feelings because she would want me to know she does. So, if you feel abandoned remember me writing my question and saying in effect that I'm here and no you're in my feelings in moments like this. I have such a bad temper and I hate expressing myself angrily. You're angel is with you and cares too. Keep me and heal me Angel I am trying to make you proud. read more

I am giving this pool 1 star simply to draw attention to the fact that while the facility and locker rooms are very clean, the pool is well maintained and clean, hours are good and the employees are nice, there is one big problem. Every evening, when parents come to drop off or pick up their children from swim practice, they idle their cars in the handicapped spots in front of the facility. Some idle in the spots the entire time their children are swimming. This happens on a daily basis. They also park in the blue lines adjacent to some of the spots for vans with ramps to allow wheelchairs to get in and out of the spots. They also park between handicapped spots, where it says no parking anytime, as if that makes a difference. I've even seen on multiple occasions a single car taking up two handicapped spots with a diagonal park. The county and county police do nothing to curb this. The parents park there casually as if they are doing nothing at all wrong. That said, the pool is great. read more

I and my wife have been members for about 3 years and change. The locker rooms and the pool section are very clean and well kept however they could stand to be updated. The fees are reasonable especially for us seniors. Iwe also find the staff to be courteous and accommodating. The only gripe that we have is that the water can be often very chilly. A major factor to consider is to check the schedule before you go in order to be assured the likelyhood of securing a lane as the teams can take over most if not all the available lanes. read more

DISGUSTING and UNSANITARY. This place should be CLOSED DOWN by the Board of Health. They have let this place go. Looks like they are waiting for this place to crumble to the ground and are just keeping it open until the lease is up; which ever comes first. The pool bottom is all Brown and the ceiling is all rusted and brown. The tile around the pool is brown. I wish I was wearing water shoes In the pool. I was really terrified of getting some nasty foot disease. Also, the pool is no longer heated and there is no chlorine in the pool. My hair didn't smell of any chlorine and my hair felt like I put conditioner in it after I came out,; talk about unsanitary. The pool water looked green. I will NEVER go back to this place. In fact, I WANT a refund!!!! I wish I had looked at the pool area before I joined. I should have known, I could tell just by the entrance that they let this place go by the feeling I got when I walked in the entrance. I hadn't been there in a few years. I brushed the feeling off originally, but it was just absolutely grose when I walked into the pool area. I can't believe they have the audacity to raise the price for the pass and entrance to the pool with these deplorable conditions. Have been going to this pool for about a year and thought it was pretty decent for the price... high tax dollars not included.... However today was an all time low. Its Friday morning so finally it is a day without an endless barrage of swim meets etc. so its fairly quiet to continue teaching my three year old to swim. We have been coming here for swim lessons and every couple of weeks we come on our own to refresh it so he doesn't regain a fear of water. In class they emphasize a use of pool noodles and kick board to strengthen their kicking and paddling skills to get them ready to ultimately swim on their own. Today a teenaged "life guard" came over and informed me after we were in the water, paid our entrance walking in clearly with out noodle and kick board, that both items are not allowed in the pool. THE SAME POOL my son had been using these two items to learn to swim. This is ridiculous. As a result we left immediately and got our refund. How are you supposed to continue a training course when you aren't allowed to use the same tools they use in their "classroom." My tax dollars go towards this pool as well as my membership and an additional entrance fee. All so I can not even teach my own son to swim. Shame on you Nassau County, in your choice of life guards, your lack of continuity in your swim programs, your horribly dysfunctional "Swim lottery" program, and the lack of an ability to run a facility with adequate public swim hours on weekends. read more
