We were so pleased throughout our experience with their crews - Ronny, JJ and Jack who packed the entire contents of her house efficiently, neatly and FAST while Lance, Matthew, Kenny and Robby unloaded everything carefully and helped us figure out where to place everything in her new home. I'd use them again and truly recommend their services!

However, they employ perhaps the rudest customer service rep that I have ever encountered (and living in NYC, you all know that I've encountered a few gems ... I do have TWC after all). Just to hit on the highlights: (1) She told me that I would have to pay for parking tickets if any were received and that they "get them a lot" because they don't care to move the truck when approached since the customer pays them anyway (even if it's true, is this your best sales pitch?). (2) When I called to figure out where they in transit, as they were over an hour late on delivery, she just started shouting at me, saying that I was giving her a "hard time." All I wanted was a status. (3) THEN, she called my 70 year old mother (receipient of delivery) to tell her that she raised a rude daughter and she should be ashamed of me. Needless to say, as my mother had interacted with her leading up to the delivery and was well acquainted with her attitude problem already, she hung up on her. If I have moving needs again, I will surely not be using their service. Nothing is worth the headache of dealing with her.

The two movers arrived exactly at the scheduled time listed in my agreement. They were friendly, professional, highly skilled, and incredibly efficient. I unexpectedly needed a few additional items boxed on moving day, and they handled everything without hesitation. Every item was packed and transported with great care. Nothing was broken, damaged, or missing. The move into my new space was just as smooth as the move out of my old one. They carefully followed all of the building's rules for elevator use, placed furniture exactly where I requested, and neatly stacked boxes in the appropriate rooms. What impressed me most was their professionalism and attention to detail. They communicated clearly throughout the process, regularly checked to make sure I didn't have any questions, and truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Before leaving, they removed all of the packing materials they had used and left both my old and new homes clean and tidy. The entire move stayed on schedule and was remarkably efficient. I honestly could not have been happier with how smoothly everything went. The two movers assigned to my move were truly exceptional--kind, courteous, hardworking, and diligent professionals who clearly take great pride in their work. Please extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to both of them. They made what could have been a stressful day remarkably easy, and I hope they know how much I appreciated their professionalism, care, and dedication. They are wonderful representatives of your company. Thank you for such an outstanding moving experience. I will absolutely use your services again for any future moves and will gladly recommend your company to friends, family, and colleagues.

They left bedrooms, closets, and office completely untouched. I had to pack and transport two full carloads of items myself. - Job Abandonment: The crew vanished without a word or a walkthrough. I was left packing and moving heavy AC units, large boxes and dragging couches to the curb in the middle of the night. - Lazy Delivery: They dumped every single box into a single room on the ground floor despite clear room labels, forcing my wife and me to carry everything upstairs ourselves. They also claimed they couldn't bring my two main closets upstairs. - Property Damage: They used zero wall protection, resulting in gouges and scratches on the walls. They also came at the wrong time (two hours early) and decided to try and break into my house, waking up every other apartment they could reach in our building and eventually having security called on them. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. As others mentioned, the movers fraudulently convinced me to sign the papers after the fact, casually saying it should have been done before, but he "forgot". Looking back this was a dirty move to confirm everything was done right at the time - which they specifically didn't do as mentioned. My family used this company for 30 years, but their standards have completely tanked. To make matters worse, management (Ann) has completely ghosted my emails for weeks. Do not trust them with your money or your belongings.

But after several attempts to notify them that we hadn't received the claim forms. This started in June of 2025 and to date 2/2026 we still haven't Received claim forms. The missing items were 2 living room chairs, which cannot be missed, among broken items that have been photographed. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE A LOCAL MOVER. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. These guys provide excellent customer service and I was very impressed by them.

Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

From filling out the form online to get a quote to answering all my questions and producing a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for my building to the unloading to finishing the job, everyone I spoke to were very pleasant and very responsive. On moving day, I was stuck in traffic and took me longer to arrive than expected. I called them to let them know and they informed me that the crew start their clock upon arrival at the destination unfortunately and had to pay extra time, but I understood. I received a call when the movers were on site and their names were Bryan and Francis. I absolutely had all my confidence in them knowing exactly what to do and they had all the right equipment. I highly recommend Solidarity Movers!
