I had a small, last minute move and they squeezed my move in after another move. It's widely accepted that moving is one of the most stressful experiences of one's life, reflecting the pain of dealing with rude, careless and mostly dishonest and overpriced movers. So when we contacted Lite Moving and Sons for a double inter-state move, we did so with a considerable amount of trepidation. Well, whatever hesitancy we had was soon allayed after Frank, Sr. arrived to give us a quote. Before long, we thought of him as "Uncle Frank". He not only explained what was involved with an inter-state move, his advice on what we could do to make our move less gut- crunching and how we could minimize its cost. His overall approach convinced us that we were in good hands. His discussion of how his family business evolved was so personable and sincere that it wasn't long before we felt we were dealing with family and any anxiety we felt before Frank arrived was entirely diminished. Frank developed his cost estimate by what turned out to be extremely accurate estimates of the weight of what was going to be moved. The price of an inter-state move is based on weight rather than elapsed hours, and Frank really nailed it. Complicating matters was that this was a double move in that our daughter was moving from her apartment was we were piggy-backing with half of our household. This involved two loads and unloads and keeping track of what belonged to whom. But with Frank and Lite, that was no problem and did not increase the cost at all. Moving day arrived and our anxiety returned. But that was until son Anthony, who actually runs now the business, arrived five minutes early with his crew of four and rang our doorbell. When we answered the door we were greeted by smiles, introductions and enthusiastic handshakes. As we pointed to the furniture and cartons that would be moved, their smiles grew larger and their enthusiasm increased. This was crazy and even crazier, we felt that this was going to be fun. Imagine, one of life's most stressful experiences was going to be fun. Well, the guys took over with the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store. Mike inventoried every piece while the other guys professionally and carefully wrapped each piece. They treated our possessions with care and were enjoying what they were doing so much it made us feel comfortable and confident that we truly were in good hands. Anytime we tried to as much as lift a box to move it, we were instructed that was what they were there for and our job was to relax and tell them if there was anything special we'd like them to do. To take furniture apart and later reassemble it they carried a large array of tools. This included assembling complicated shelving and the removal and reinstallation of doors to make way for larger items. I guess what really amazed us was that their disposition never changed. No matter how hot it was and how stifling the humidity became, or how narrow doorways were, or how heavy certain pieces of furniture or cartons became as the move wore on, these difficulties only made them joke even more and utilize exceptional teamwork to overcome every challenge. Yes, this actually became fun. This was by no means an easy move, involving two households, two states and two days. Both before and during the move, the team was in constant contact with us, keeping us informed every step of the way. The incredible level of service provided by Anthony, Mike, Billy and the other guys made the move more than bearable. I hate to be trite by saying it was fun, but meeting and dealing with such professional, courteous and friendly people actually did provide enjoyment for us. We've dealt with companies known for their high level of customer service before. We've dealt with the Nordstroms, the Wegmans, the LL Beans of the world, but none of them was more focused on customer satisfaction than was Lite Moving and Sons. Very professional and did a great job with wrapping up and moving the large furniture pieces

Prior to the move Frank Sr. came to my home to give an estimate, he was extremely thorough and detailed in what needed to be moved and the process on how it would be done, provided tips and suggestions on how to pack and organize to help save time and money, he also was professional, on time and courteous of our home. Now fast forward to the day of the move which is normally a stressful and hectic time well it was not at all. The level of service, punctuality and professionalism was beyond what I was expecting and far exceeded my expectations. The team for the move ( Pete, Mike ,Mike and Billy) that we're scheduled for 0800 actually showed up 17 minutes early and by 8am they had already began working diligently and efficiently. The team worked as a unit and truly packed everything in their truck with great care and concern, everything had been pre boxed by myself and color coordinated which helped but they had a fantastic system, everything was meticulously wrapped in moving blankets and not one wall was even scuffed or marked when moving into the new house. Hired this company to move some furniture from a home in queens back to Freeport. Mike and Pete showed up on time (tho I was actually a bit late) As I walked up the greeted me with smiles and jumped out ready to get to it. Showed them what I needed to go and they immediately got to work all within 10mins of getting in. We ran into some issues moving a large Fridge and Dresser thru some VERY narrow passage ways. Pete immediately stepped back looked and figured it came thru the window, and they got to it. Wasn't easy but they made it happen. The dresser had to be removed thru the window as well, which they made look easy lol.Timing was good considering the issues of the narrow doorways and the large furniture having to be disassembled and reassembled. But the guys kept a great attitude the entire time. And bam they told me they meet me in Freeport. I showed up good enough timing before them to clear paths and make sure the old fridge going to the curb was ready to go. They showed up and a third helper, Anthont met them promptly who was there to assist with the fridge. He was most deffinetly needed and got to the fridge as Mike and Pete got everything in the house and finished up. Overall, is recommend this company to any body, they're great and swell to work with. We moved from Long Island, NY to East Coast of Florida in November 2020. Frank, Anthony and their crew are the best. Frank made the initial house call and left us feeling we were in good hands, walking around our home accessing what we would be needed in supples and explaining how they coordinate the packing we needed supplies they would use and how they guarantee no damage. We needed a storage unit once we arrived in Florida and Frank was able to tell us how big of a storage unit we would need by accessing all of our Furniture and household things. When that was taken care of then Anthony would coordinate the actual move time and day and final delivery The crew that came to our home the day of the move were incredible. They were pleasant respectful and focused on their tasks, they packed us up in no time. Recently, after one year and ten months we moved our things from storage to our new home. We opened the boxes and started to unpack, the crew was incredible the way each and every box was so well packed and protected and labeled. Let me begin by saying, MOVING SUCKS!!! But if you hire this company, they'll take most of your work and worries out of it and make it as smooth as can be. It's a family owned business and they pay attention to detail. Unlike other companies they didn't play games with the price and "unforeseen" extras. Very reasonable rates. Really trustworthy and hardworking crew. I didn't know that all my belongings could be moved so fast. Best movers around! Our family had 3 excellent experiences with Lite Movers of Freeport, NY! during the past year. 2 large homes and one small ranch. We were all moving south! The first move included medium term storage before the actual move and the prices were very fair. If Frank, the owner/boss does not cancel on you then you are lucky and it is a good experience. Lite moved my Mom to Florida with no problems or issues so I had no qualms about calling them when I was moving to Florida 2 years later. I arranged with Frank 3 months out. I was very flexible about the date, just telling him I needed it done by a certain date but any day and time before would be fine. I said this because I did not have a full load and he was coordinating with another load about the sane time. Frank will tell you haw reliable they are, how timely they are and how they have no complaints. What he does not tell you is he will cancel on you. Frank called me 2 weeks before my schedule move to tell me he could not take me because the OTHER guy probably was not using him and if he did it would not be until a month later. All frank did was whine that the OTHER guy was screwing him. Back and fourth and back and fourth and his solution was A. he could store my things for an undetermined amount of time, B. I could pay for the WHOLE truck, C. just wait until he gets another job, whenever. Now just a note, this all transpired the day after I had his packers come in and pack my things for a lot of $$$$ I believe he knew he was going to cancel on me because he kept calling me with 'updates' about the other guy. He made sure he got some money out of me first. I was going aroud with him for 30 minutes and his only response was I am sorry but the other guy , the other guy. I finally told him that 2 weeks before I did not even know where to turn to get another mover and he finally said he would call a friend in the industry. I was suspicious, but the other company was a well known reputable company that I had been seeing their trucks on the road for years. They called me 10 minutes later and I got the ball rolling with them. The other company is Verity..highly recommend them, they were fantastic. Unfortunately the move cost me more than Frank, but it was money well spent. DO NOT TRUST FRANK, DO NOT FEED INTO HIS FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS SCHTICK, DO NOT USE FRANK.
