Ivan and Michael also greeted me on the other end, utilizing the same qualities to deliver my items as well as arrange them. When I wasn't sure where to put something, they were great at recommending places. And when I wanted to change an item's location, they were amenable to that as well. They were so kind and good-humored, and made heavy lifting look easy. I was very happy that none of my many fragile items arrived broken or damaged. Kudos also to Drago, the rep who answered my initial call, listened carefully to my needs and said he'd assign me the best crew. He also was the only rep, of the many I spoke with, who wrote down my inventory exactly as I described it. And he quoted me a price that was a fraction of competitors' prices. I highly recommend this wonderful company!

I had my purse with $980 in the zippered compartment in one of our bathrooms where we were storing the stuff we didn't want moved. The movers were told this on multiple instances. The movers had zero reason to be in that room and did not ask permission to enter it. Had they done so we would have asked them to use the other bathroom. I know the movers were in there because the toilet seat was up and there was urine in the toilet when I went in. I am female and my fiancé is completely blind and has to sit to pee and doesn't put up the seat. When I went to tip the movers, the cash was gone from my purse. No one besides myself, my fiancé and the movers were inside the apartment since I'd taken out the cash the previous evening. I informed the company immediately. They did nothing about it, claiming they questioned the crew who denied it. As if they'd confess to stealing about a grande. Please learn from my mistake and either avoid this company. Or at least keep your cash on your person and lock any doors the crew should not be entering. Personally this is the last time I will be using them as trust should be a priority particularly with a company you are handing your belonging. In case it helps, the head of the crew was named Alik (that spelling may be incorrect) and the license plate number on the truck was 79759NG.

They left bedrooms, closets, and office completely untouched. I had to pack and transport two full carloads of items myself. - Job Abandonment: The crew vanished without a word or a walkthrough. I was left packing and moving heavy AC units, large boxes and dragging couches to the curb in the middle of the night. - Lazy Delivery: They dumped every single box into a single room on the ground floor despite clear room labels, forcing my wife and me to carry everything upstairs ourselves. They also claimed they couldn't bring my two main closets upstairs. - Property Damage: They used zero wall protection, resulting in gouges and scratches on the walls. They also came at the wrong time (two hours early) and decided to try and break into my house, waking up every other apartment they could reach in our building and eventually having security called on them. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. As others mentioned, the movers fraudulently convinced me to sign the papers after the fact, casually saying it should have been done before, but he "forgot". Looking back this was a dirty move to confirm everything was done right at the time - which they specifically didn't do as mentioned. My family used this company for 30 years, but their standards have completely tanked. To make matters worse, management (Ann) has completely ghosted my emails for weeks. Do not trust them with your money or your belongings.

But after several attempts to notify them that we hadn't received the claim forms. This started in June of 2025 and to date 2/2026 we still haven't Received claim forms. The missing items were 2 living room chairs, which cannot be missed, among broken items that have been photographed. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE A LOCAL MOVER. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. These guys provide excellent customer service and I was very impressed by them.

Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

It's widely accepted that moving is one of the most stressful experiences of one's life, reflecting…read morethe pain of dealing with rude, careless and mostly dishonest and overpriced movers. So when we contacted Lite Moving and Sons for a double inter-state move, we did so with a considerable amount of trepidation. Well, whatever hesitancy we had was soon allayed after Frank, Sr. arrived to give us a quote. Before long, we thought of him as "Uncle Frank". He not only explained what was involved with an inter-state move, his advice on what we could do to make our move less gut- crunching and how we could minimize its cost. His overall approach convinced us that we were in good hands. His discussion of how his family business evolved was so personable and sincere that it wasn't long before we felt we were dealing with family and any anxiety we felt before Frank arrived was entirely diminished. Frank developed his cost estimate by what turned out to be extremely accurate estimates of the weight of what was going to be moved. The price of an inter-state move is based on weight rather than elapsed hours, and Frank really nailed it. Complicating matters was that this was a double move in that our daughter was moving from her apartment was we were piggy-backing with half of our household. This involved two loads and unloads and keeping track of what belonged to whom. But with Frank and Lite, that was no problem and did not increase the cost at all. Moving day arrived and our anxiety returned. But that was until son Anthony, who actually runs now the business, arrived five minutes early with his crew of four and rang our doorbell. When we answered the door we were greeted by smiles, introductions and enthusiastic handshakes. As we pointed to the furniture and cartons that would be moved, their smiles grew larger and their enthusiasm increased. This was crazy and even crazier, we felt that this was going to be fun. Imagine, one of life's most stressful experiences was going to be fun. Well, the guys took over with the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy store. Mike inventoried every piece while the other guys professionally and carefully wrapped each piece. They treated our possessions with care and were enjoying what they were doing so much it made us feel comfortable and confident that we truly were in good hands. Anytime we tried to as much as lift a box to move it, we were instructed that was what they were there for and our job was to relax and tell them if there was anything special we'd like them to do. To take furniture apart and later reassemble it they carried a large array of tools. This included assembling complicated shelving and the removal and reinstallation of doors to make way for larger items. I guess what really amazed us was that their disposition never changed. No matter how hot it was and how stifling the humidity became, or how narrow doorways were, or how heavy certain pieces of furniture or cartons became as the move wore on, these difficulties only made them joke even more and utilize exceptional teamwork to overcome every challenge. Yes, this actually became fun. This was by no means an easy move, involving two households, two states and two days. Both before and during the move, the team was in constant contact with us, keeping us informed every step of the way. The incredible level of service provided by Anthony, Mike, Billy and the other guys made the move more than bearable. I hate to be trite by saying it was fun, but meeting and dealing with such professional, courteous and friendly people actually did provide enjoyment for us. We've dealt with companies known for their high level of customer service before. We've dealt with the Nordstroms, the Wegmans, the LL Beans of the world, but none of them was more focused on customer satisfaction than was Lite Moving and Sons. If you are planning a move and do not give Lite a call, you would be doing yourself a great disservice. And on top of that, you would be missing an opportunity to have met Frank, Sr.

I selected Lite Moving and Sons for several reasons. 1) excellent initial interaction with both Frank and Anthony. They both provided so much information about inter state moving, how to properly box items, how they could help, insurance and more. 2) they were on time and professional. Every person on the job was friendly and very polite. They were full of smiles and good cheer at both ends of the job which was very stressful for me! 3) the estimate they provided actually came in UNDER the original price. I HIGHLY recommend this business. Lite Moving and Sons exudes professionalism and kindness. I couldn't have been happier with how everything went.
