This is a small, no frills nail spot! This would be my third time coming in the last few months for a gel manicure. I have had different techs each time. The first time, the gel polish started coming off the next morning (less than 12 hours), so I called and they were able to fix the nails that were peeling within 2 days. They were very nice about fixing it so I was grateful for that friendliness. The techs after that first experience have been great - strong attention to detail especially with filing the shape. I think the trick is to make sure you do the UV light multiple times to seal the polish on your nails. The soft gel usually starts to come off the nail in about 2 weeks or so. For $33 + tip, I'll take it! read more

I booked an appointment because of COVID and didn't want to crowd their space. They put me down for a SNS manicure and pedicure on Sunday. Came in and immediately was pleased with their COVID precautions - glass protectors, plastic curtains between each station, and hand sanitizer available. Their large amount or polish, specifically SNS powder impressed me as well. A lot of places tend to only have a couple colors on hand - there were over 50+ colors with designs available too. I got their spa pedicure for $45 - came with 10 min massage and callus removal included. It was very luxurious and definitely worth to treat yourself! I was able to get my SNS manicure ($43 + $1 for one nail tip) with Rita - she's great at SNS powder, she made sure I loved the nails every step of the way. Took the bus to green point and checked out Nassau Nail Spa and honestly was so glad that I have it a try. Got a regular pedicure which was very relaxing and good paint job. Also got a new set of SNS Powder color tips. Jennifer did an incredible job following my request for short almond shape tips. I was so happy, I've had such terrible experiences with tips everywhere that I've gone. I couldn't be happier with how they came out. I had a wonderful experience at Nassau Nail Spa. I got a regular pedi and custom design gel manicure for $60 total. They also have a deal for regular pedi and gel mani for $45. Some places will charge you this amount just for the gel manicure alone. Not only are the prices fair, the service is great and the work is so detailed from my experience with Rita. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she replicated it perfectly down to the colors. The pedicure was good and the hot stones were a nice touch. I usually go to this salon and don't have any issues. I just got powder nails done on Wednesday 11/10. The lady who did my nails was using the electric nail drill on my nails and completely destroyed my nail beds until they bled. She kept going over the same spots as I was visibly in pain. She also drilled the metal bit straight underneath my nail into my skin until I bled. My fingernails now have a bacterial infection and I feel miserable. I had to see a doctor and get on antibiotics because I'm in that much pain. I'm extremely upset and disappointed with the nail tech that did my nails here. She knew I was in pain and kept acknowledging it but then kept buffing over the same spots until they were raw. I uploaded a photo of one hand for visibility but it is both. The manicurist rushed me to her seat, I had to actually tell her that I still needed to pick out a color. I didn't need much work done as I just had them done elsewhere a week prior. After what was basically a color swap and a 10 second hand "massage", she asked me for the $10 payment. I took out my debit card, to which she shook her head and said that they can only accept it for $15 or more. Avoiding the argument that they are actually NOT allowed to do this, I told her to just charge the tip as $5. This is a 50% tip. She then handed me the copy to sign and breathed down my neck while I signed it. And that's when I realized she expected me to tip on top of this. When she saw that I didn't, her demeanor changed, she sloppily and roughly painted my nails, spoke in a different language to her co-worker and then gave me weird looks. It was awkwardly obvious. I sat, waiting for my friend to finish her gel mani. This should last 3-4 weeks. Her manicurist applied very heavy coats (big mistake), and her nails chipped 2 days later. So I did, assuming I'd be up next otherwise why am I sitting in a pedicure chair. Similar to a previous review left regarding safety, this was by far the most unpleasant experience I had at a nail salon. Please do NOT get their callus removal. Instead of using a proper/safe tool for callus removal, they used a drill (looked like a construction drill) with a sanding attachment. After what felt like a burning sensation, I've asked the nail tech to stop because it was so painful. She was neither fazed nor apologetic. I checked my heel after the service, and it was bleeding with an open wound. There are concerns regarding infection. The tools they use are unsanitary, and the same unexperienced nail tech caused six of my cuticles to bleed, including my toes. I'm not only disappointed, but also very upset with their unprofessionalism when I followed up with them regarding my wound. read more

My mother in law, sister in law, and I came for a much needed mani pedi girls date. My sister in law lives close by and I was already coming to spend time with her but needed a mani pedi for an event I was going to the next day. We came on a Saturday evening I would say it was about 7pm. I'm used to crowded nail salons and long waits which is what I had to deal with in my old Astoria neighborhood. However, it was nice to see that there were three aestheticians ready to start us all. It was nice to be able to sit together and chat as we were getting our nails done. I liked that the ladies were all very friendly and I guess my favorite part was the hot stones that are part of a regular pedicure. At $23 for mani pedi I felt I was treated like royalty, I have paid 60 dollars for a less fancy massage elsewhere. In any case I loved the color selection and was happy with the choices I made. The ladies were nice enough to remove the paper towels from our toes and to fix our clumsy nail mistakes free of charge. It was a perfect date! I got a gel manicure here 2 days ago, and one of my nails has already chipped. It's very dirty, and my technician cut me 3 times, so badly that I was bleeding, but she never said anything about it. It's a bummer because I did really like my manicure and color, and at $25, I would have over looked that it's a dirty...but the combination of the cuts and my nail chipping just 36 hours later makes it a no for me. read more

I thought I would give it a second chance so the second time I arrived at 7:00 pm and waited until 7:30 pm. Both times they kept saying 5 more minutes to try to have me to stay even longer. When I scheduled the second appointment, I told the lady about the first experience and she said they will have someone ready for my appointment time, but that was not the case.
