I dropped my car off on June 11th 2025, they told me it would take 2-3 weeks tops. I had a damaged driver side rear door, quarter panel, scratched rims, (and I guess damaged suspensions according to them). My car was swiped while parked. I didn't get my car back until September 12th 2025 (91 days). I'm sure it'll would've been longer if I hadn't called literally every week around the 30 day mark demanding updates because there never were any. Upon receiving my car back I see some scratches that weren't there before, I can't prove it but it's my car, I would know if there was a big scuff mark there before. Additionally, for some reason they decided to rip my rear dash cam out of its mount and put it in the cup holder. The cam was pretty securely mounted so I know for sure it couldn't have been an accident. Below is a picture of the damages to my car before I dropped it off along with notes of every time I've called them over them over the last 1+ months. I am not lying to purposely sabotage their business, but there is definitely something very shady with this body shop.

I finally got my vehicle back in August 2025 after paying for a rental car since June. Custom 1 Auto refused to give me their insurance to file a claim for the damages and my insurance said that the shop should be liable. I took them to court and won April 2026 (see Case Number: 251200365464) and they have not paid. Do not let my experience become yours. AVOID!!!!!!!

I wasn't interested in dealing with insurance and just wanted to pay by card but I kept getting asked questions/pressured to provide insurance info. Eventually I was told it would be $45 to fix if I paid myself, which I ended up doing since I was in a hurry and was heading out of town so I just wanted it fixed and off my mind. The technician completed the work very quickly, but unfortunately a good amount of the chip is still there - basically looks like the resin didn't seep everywhere it should have. The staff helped me work through some issues from my adjuster and they were so polite about it. (It was actually, a hot mess) I believe his name is Tony. He was very professional dealing with these issues. Thanks Tony! (Oh, I pray that's his name...) The ladies at the front desk were also helpful in getting me a rent car. So far my SUV has been here for a few weeks and they send me updates on the progress almost every day! I really appreciate this. Due to part delays it is taking a little longer than they anticipated. Hopefully I will get my baby back this week. I will update my review when I get my sweet ride back.

Days later the leak was worse with a large puddle, and got it to another mechanic and they said that who ever did the job put SILICONE ON THE OIL PAN and was leaking all over. (Silicone on that part is taboo!!!) Obviously it was this place that doesn't know how to do a job, and the process to FIX things. Yet another untrustworthy mechanic in Houston.

I called twice and left him a message both times concerning service work on my car that I needed his advice on. When he didn't return my phone calls, I called and talked to his office manager who confirmed that he had received the messages and didn't call me back because he was too busy. The calls that I made were over a week apart and I felt that there was no excuse for him to not return my call. Since I have spent approximately $2-3 thousand dollars there over those six years I find this unacceptable. I don't know why he would act this way but he has lost me as a customer.

Maybe they're better with appointments and more specialized work, but from our experience, I can't recommend them. Not sure who pissed in the owner's cheerios, but a few classes in communication & customer interaction would be beneficial.
