Nate's Barber Shop has been at this location for 18 years now, but Nate is no longer alive. The shop is now owned by a father and son team who kept the business model the same. The father used to work for Nate, and he is now the owner of the shop. It's not a posh place, and more old school than upscale, but they do a good job. I don't like to go to those snooty, toffee nose boutiques, and prefer to support low maintenance shops like Nate's barber shop. They take cash only. Good for them! Banks and merchants continue to rob small businesses with their high monthly fees, so I don't mind paying for my haircut with paper currency. read more

This is one of the best barber shops I have tried in years. The shop is not fancy, but it is clean and spacious. Upon entering, I was immediately made at ease by the friendly greetings of Danny and Hugo. Danny gave me the haircut; after a few brief instructions and some questions, he proceeded to give me the exact haircut I wanted. Yup... that's right. I too was a victim of the dad/lawnmower cut. Man he did Nothing i asked then eventually when I knew he wasn't capable of giving me the haircut I wanted I then said "whatever u think would look good just make sure it's nice." I literally got up from the chair and couldn't believe how choppy my hair was side burns fuzzy and hair still on my neck. When I told him I wasn't happy he looked surprised then looked kind of offended. Let's Just say the son ended up fixing my haircut which didn't turn out so bad. He actually knows why he's doing so for that I give this establishment an extra star. read more

The equipment that uses is top-of-the-line and the job that he does it's five star all the way. His prices are so reasonable that you are compelled to give him a big tip, so I do. Hugo was great, He has been there for 11 years and he knows how to cut hair, old school. I felt he did a great job at all the classic details right down to the hot lather shave of the back of my neck and sideburns for a really crisp edge. He made sure my brows were not bushy and that no stray hairs were growing out of my ears. I have not had such a professional and enjoyable haircut in years and wanted to share the experience. While I was there a steady flow of people came in, The other Barber while I didn't catch his name seemed equally professional. Worst dam haircut gor in my life and gave this joke of a person old man $5.00 tip caise didnt have my glasses w me and couldnt see before left. When walked in three people were ahead of me but all waiting on the younger dude who looked sober competent and looked like knew what he was doimg, i got cut up butcherd up look so messed up have to shave my head when get home. Took a shower hoping maybe fix things but nope still but of the joke prolly at their dinner table tonight. Have a feeling hes family so let him work there, should be a warning sign that better cuts from a drunk or a disability person. Love this place. Inexpensive ($12 + tip!), usually less than a 5 minute wait, old-school, sports on television, discuss the news or sports of the day with the friendly father/son team of barbers, and I leave looking great and with money still in my pocket. I went to this stablished barbershop today and I was amazed by the lack of knowledge on how to do hair (not mentioning that I'm a hairstylist myself). The guy would just not listen to my request and did whatever he wanted to do. I don't know how long they have been doing their job and I don't care to be honest; but I am sure I will never put my step again in this place. Terrible place to get a hair cut, specifically showed the guy a hair style I wanted along with stating leave it long on top, but came out with a military crew cut instead. When I saw it and said it wasn't even close to what I asked for, the guy had the audacity to say the way he cut it looked better than the picture I showed him. Would not recommend. read more

I love this shop. I always get my hair cut (I get a low fade) by Nate the older guy and he has such a soft touch and does a great fade. Both father and son are great barbers, my friend and I always go and I get my hair cut by Nate and my friend gets his done by Danny. We always leave with a smile on our faces and looking really good.
