Their follow up/ documentation, and treatment plans are extremely detailed and thorough. The building looks a bit dated from street level - but don't let this fool you- the office itself is beautiful, modernized, and very comfortable throughout. At the end of the day - the procedure was done to perfection. I visited for an extraction and Dr. Figueroa and his team were so attentive and patient. They took the time to explain exactly what would happen, the risks, and answer all of my questions. I felt well cared for and comfortable. I expressed my dental anxiety to Dr. Figueroa and he was compassionate and offered assistance by way of laughing gas for my extraction. The extraction couldn't have gone better. Dr. Figueroa talked his was through the procedure, which was helpful. They have a cozy little recovery room for post-op and then you're on your way. Can't speak highly enough about this team and my experience.

They charged me upfront at the time of my appointment instead of billing my insurance first. I was told they couldn't bill my insurance because they were out of network and that the visit wouldn't be covered. Based on what happened afterward, that information appears to have been incorrect. They did bill my insurance, and when I later received my Explanation of Benefits (EOB), my actual patient responsibility was significantly lower than what I had been charged on the day of the appointment. I found this experience extremely frustrating and concerning. Being given inaccurate information about insurance coverage and being charged more upfront than what I ultimately owed left me feeling misled. I plan to pursue this matter further with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office because I believe these billing practices should be reviewed. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly encourage others to do their research and proceed with caution before seeking care here. This experience has been phenomenal for the 7 years I've been with Dr. Aaron…read more I came to him in 2018 after being neglected by my oral surgeon, who had placed two implants, and the dentist who had done the crowns. I had suspicion something was going on as one was wiggling. Dr. Aaron jumped on it and was able to identify malpractice and addressed the offending surgeon (Dr. Vaina of IVOMS in Peru, IL) to have it corrected. I went back to the offending surgeon (due to cost reasons and giving him a chance to fix it) and about 6 surgeries later, I was even worse off. Dr. Aaron investigated and created a course of action, which involved referring me to a new surgeon, Dr. Frank of Northshore Smile Surgery, who proceeded to perform a miracle to restore my gums to full health. Dr. Aaron created me a temporary fix to keep my teeth in place which held me in tact for five years. In October 2024, despite living in another state, I called Dr. Aaron and let him know the remaining implant was showing really bad signs and he confirmed my thoughts and told me to come in that week to have it addressed. I traveled 10 hours to see him and he was incredibly thorough and sensitive in handling the issue and it was deemed I had to go back to Dr. Frank to correct more malpractice from the offending surgeon at IVOMS (Dr. Vaina). Dr. Aaron set me up in a temporary bridge to help keep the aesthetics of my gums in tact and so as to not leave me toothless in the front as a young woman and bride to be. After the two month healing period, he squeezed me back in his schedule as I traveled 10 hours to see him again through Michigan winter madness. After 8 years of pain and trauma from other providers, Dr. Aaron took care of me at the highest level. He was the only one willing to identify and tackle this complex and heartbreaking nightmare, he handled each step over 8 years so tactfully and was truly invested in not only my business, but genuinely cared about my well being and wanted to see me find my dream smile. Dr. Aaron has truly gone above and beyond for me in every single aspect of my care for almost a decade, every dentist should be at his level. His sense of ethics, his personality, his attention to detail, his level of care... he's second to none. As a former dental professional myself, after working with him, it makes me never want to go anywhere else the rest of my life. The rest of the staff is fantastic too! Occasionally the other doctors would get involved in my case and were always very direct and clear while showing empathy for the situation. The front office staff and manager Kathy are wonderful and really helpful, always making sure to give any information needed and working around my wild schedule being out of state. The assistants are all fantastic and incredibly personable as well, I've always enjoyed each one I've had and have been pretty consistent faces over the years! You can't ask for a better dental office from start to finish. They even have a service dog on site, which has been amazing through something that's been traumatic to go through and recover from. I wouldn't be here tonight with my dream smile if it wasn't for Dr. Aaron saving me from malpractice from another office. Since I was informed I needed a tooth pulled, I had an impending sense of doom. I'm proud of how quickly I scheduled the consultation (due to the end of the Flex Spending deadline). In advance of my appointment, my dentist sent the xrays to Dr Jacob's office and I both dreaded that they would pull my tooth that day, or that I would have to return to have it done. My primary care physician also recommended Dr. Jacobs. When I arrived at the office, it was the most glamorous dental office I'd ever seen. There was a separate room to fill out paperwork. There was a separate waiting room with a large TV. They didn't shove anything into my mouth to take xrays -- the camera flew around me like a 360 degree photo booth. They told me that they would pull the tooth that day -- was I more terrified or more relieved? Dr Jacobs was very caring and supportive when I told him I was quite nervous. He was very patient and explained each step that would happen. The worst, of course, was the injection of novocaine. However, as he said, it took no longer than 10 minutes to extract the tooth. The staff was very detailed with the after care. They called me when I returned home and Dr Jacobs called me later that evening to check on me. While I hope I never see Dr Jacobs ever again, chances are that my teeth will let me down sometime in the future. At least I know what to expect, and Dr Jacobs and his practice are the very best.

Our ortho thought Dr. Mark Jacobs would be a good fit for what she needed done and her "high maintenance" personality. I liked that he was an anesthesiologist before an oral surgeon since I assumed we would have to knock her out for the procedure. We were able to get in for a consultant within a week and the procedure a week later. The building itself is pretty old and I feared the elevator was going to break down on us, but the office itself is beautiful and not what you'd expect in this older building. During the consultation Dr. Jacob and his lovely staff put us both at least. They were very clear on what the procedure would entail and how to make it as pain free as possible. He gave us a few options for pain management and she chose a drink that would put her to sleep. They even asked what flavor she likes and she asked if they had any shirley temples. No such luck, but lots of fruit juices to choose from. The day of the procedure I expected to have to drag her into the office, but she went willingly since the consultation was so smooth. The hardest part was that she really didn't like the taste of the drink, but they were very patient as she took forever to gag it down. From there it the procedure itself was easy. She was drowsy and cranky the rest of the day, but it went way better than I expected. Today she had a quick follow-up (one week later) and was told she can resume eating whatever she wanted. Hooray! Everyone in the office was lovely once again and I will go back to them for any future oral surgeon needs (ex: wisdom teeth) for my family, but hopefully we don't have too many.

Several times she told about the latest and greatest in their newest technological acquisitions. My husband also experienced the heavy handed up selling by the hygienist and no input by the dentist. Since then we have established care with a fabulous husband/wife DDS team in Lake Forest. The clinical care is personalized and in the hands of the doctors. The hygienist is also very knowledgeable and thorough with no up-selling procedures and bragging comments about the latest acquisitions in state of the art equipment. If you prefer personal and professional dental care with a doctor at the helm and less up sell I would not recommend this practice.
