At 3:40 on a Tuesday, in an empty office, Karen explained they would not be able to open an account today, but I could "apply online". MemberOne is not great, but FreedomFirst is worse. I wanted to move my financials over to FF but at this point MemberOne is looking much better. That said, Many thanks to 30 years of University FCU in Austin TX. Shout out to service pro's that don't give you a dozen reasons they will not help you like Karen at FreedomFirst.

I went to the drive-thru ATM at this location to make a withdrawal, the money was deducted from my…read moreaccount, but the machine did not give me the physical cash. I tried it again, because if it said insufficient funds the second time, that means the first transaction went through. Sure enough, on the second attempt, it said insufficient funds. So, I went into the bank and talked to the branch manager Leigh Sutherland, however, she told me that because it was a Friday and they were closing, they would not be able to audit the ATM and check the balance. She told me they would call me on Monday and get it sorted out. I agreed to this despite losing $60 and having to wait the weekend for the mistake to be corrected. I went into the bank on Monday, and spoke with Leigh Sutherland again. Considering I already had $60 taken from me and had to wait 72 hours to even discuss getting my money back, I was expecting the staff to be willing to help me and trying their hardest to get me the money that had been taken from me. I could not have been more wrong. After taking time out of my schedule to go in and personally address this issue, she was unwilling to take the next steps towards recovering my money while I was in person with her. Instead, she called me on her own time later in the day, and essentially told me that the bank does not owe me any money. I never got my money back. I have never had such a terrible customer service experience than with Leigh Sutherland, the branch manager of this bank location. It would behoove everyone to avoid this location at all costs. I am considering switching banks after this very unpleasant experience, and will make sure it is well known how terrible the service at this branch is.

Every other bank I've ever had, has had no issues, but something with them make it difficult. Also will lock your account, preventing you from using it. Very annoying and kind of makes having a bank useless if you can't get your money where it needs to go. Will be closing my account. Oh, and not open on Saturdays....come on!

The teller told me that one clerk had an appointment coming in the next 10-15minutes, and the other clerk was getting ready to go to lunch in the next 10minutes. They did give me a card w\a QR so I could DO IT MYSELF ONLINE "because it's soo easy to do and only takes you about 10minutes" That's what the clerk actually told me, verbatim. So, why couldn't somebody just do it for me there, because they had the 10 minutes, but even if it took a little longer I thought that lunch could be taken a little late in exchange for good customer service. To top it all off, I tried to go online to set-up an account and couldn't even get past the first page. Needless to say I went to another bank. NATIONAL BANK had me an account open &active, and even let me keep a few hundred dollars out of my 4,ooo$ check I had to open the account with. It's just curious I did Not disclose how big of an account it would be, and Well Fargo basically blew me off(I think on account of my appearance), while I was seated @a desk immediately and taken care of @ NATIONAL BANK

We went to this branch today to talk to an agent. We asked the teller if they had a sign in sheet, she replied "no just have a seat and they will call you." We took a seat and other people started to come in and take seats also. Long story short.... two people said they were there before us so we left. Dishonest people really upset me!!! Wells Fargo you need to get a sign up book. I can't help but think we would have been better clients because we are honest. The good news.... Freedom First in Blacksburg was glad to have our money! We made their day and they made ours!

I moved a business account to First Bank & Trust after meeting one of the VPs at various networking events. She was always helpful, friendly, and at the time I had been looking to move from a national bank to something more regional. I can say that I had no complaints upon opening an account there. After some time, I learned that First Bank was going to be eliminating the ability to deposit money at the ATMs - the ATMs were going to be withdrawal-only. Their rationale, as it was explained to me, was that every deposit needed to be checked and verified by hand anyhow, so rather than having to have an employee service each ATM daily, deposits could be made at the counter, or at the drive-thru. Unfortunately, most of my deposits were taking place after hours, and it was getting to the point where I'd have to stockpile several and then go to the bank all at one time, and it just didn't work well. I moved everything to an online bank (Ally) at that point. I had no complaints regarding First Bank & Trust up to that point. Their online Bill Pay and Account Management features weren't as up-to-date as I would have liked, but they were serviceable and did their job well. I don't know how they did it but it seemed like everyone at the bank knew who I was, whether I had dealt with them or not, and I later learned that they had been cashing checks for an employee of mine there, even though the checks were drawn off another bank - it was simply something they were doing for him because I was a customer. That kind of attention to detail, and willingness to take an extra step, really speaks volumes to me, and if I were to switch again I would most certainly take my business to First Bank & Trust *first*.
