They do an interview and check references, and they're very concerned with making sure the animal goes to a good home. They made sure she was up to date on all her veterinary care and provided me with detailed information on her health history. They even stamped a tag for me while we were interviewing. I am incredibly impressed with the whole operation, particularly Jonnie, who was a great help in speeding our application along.

I follow their facebook page and I have seen the absolutely amazing things they do when it comes to rescuing ferrets. They are honest and open with us whenever they get in a new rescue that may need vet treatment, and how we can help donate towards the vet cost. They NEVER expect anyone to donate, and not once have I seen something that proves otherwise. They are caring, compassionate and dedicated to their work rescuing ferrets, and I wish I lived in Georgia so I could join and help with the rescue, but alas I live in rainy depressing Washington State. Who knows, maybe one day I can visit in person and get a whole business of love. Thank you for everything you do Kindness Matters, your work is seen and it is so very much appreciated.

Kindness Matters Ferret Rescue was able to take him in and found a loving home so quickly!(: We visited the home he was being temporarily placed in before surrendering him and although it was sad to part, we were relieved that there were other playful ferrets, so many toys and comfy places for them to rest. It truly seemed like a ferret paradise! I also love that they care so much about the little guys and provide veterinary care as well as frequently post updates on their Facebook page. This rescue has proven to be very reliable and trustworthy, I highly recommend them!

Had a great opportunity to visit The Acworth Book & Storytelling Festival. It was very well-organized event and had forty authors sharing their amazing stories with visitors. Would be wonderful to read every attending Author's book. Sorry, " so many books and so little time." The weather was great, and it was perfect to have part of the event outside. This was my first visit to this Arts Center, and I can't wait to see what other events they have to offer.

Built in 1908 by the Nashville, Chattanooga & St Louis Railway Company (interestingly L&N or…read moreLouisville & Nashville Railroad Company-the company that build the train depot in the neighboring city of Woodstock, GA owned 55% of NC&StL in 1908.) The railroad tracks that the depot sits on is known as The Western & Atlantic Railroad which was built by the state of Georgia in 1836 at a reportedly cost of 5 million dollars (125 million in today's money.) It is the building of this 138 miles rail tracks that really put Atlanta on the map... If you're a Walking Dead Fan then you know about Terminus...well that was the name originally given to the city of Atlanta. Terminus means "the end point" which was what Atlanta was at the time. The "end of the line" for W&A railroad. Most historians believe that the "end point" probably is where the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot is in downtown Atlanta. (if you're feeling extra history-ish you can go see the stone marker that marked the spot of "the end" at Underground Atlanta. It's known as The Atlanta Zero Mile post.) The Kennesaw Train Depot was restored to its former glory in 2001 at a cost of $150,000 according of their website. It now is a museum and an event venue. There is also a small park next to it known as Depot Park with a small play ground, an outdoor museum narrating the great locomotive chase of the civil war and a pedestrian underpass. In front of the museum there is a tall lamp clock dedicated to city council member Jerry Worthan for his 20 years of service to the city of Kennesaw. Across the street there is the Southern Museum of Civil WAr Locomotive History Museum that houses the famous locomotive "The General".
