When we rented the car, they were very specific that it just needed to be returned full. It was past the F when we arrived. But that's not good enough. Will not ever be using Budget again.

I only had to wait a minute or so to be waited on - showed my ID and was given my keys and paperwork and was on my way. It was a very short walk to where my car was parked outside. Upon return - I pulled into a Hertz marked parking spot and observed and followed the directions on the sign (there is no Hertz parking lot attendant at this location). I noted the space number, time I parked, mileage, and whether I fueled up the car, and locked it. Walked in, visited the Hertz counter, presented the keys to the clerk, and provided him with information I had recorded when I parked the car. He printed me a receipt and I was on my way! Very efficient!

Pick-Up: I booked on Kayak, but the actual reservation was done through Priceline. So, I had already paid in full when I went to pick up the car. Except for their usual attempt of selling an insurance coverage, they did not try to up sell anything. I had reserved a Toyota Corolla or similar, and I got a Nissan Sentra. It was new (2017) and very clean. Before Driving Off: Because Bellingham Airport is small, there's no attendant on the parking lot. You should carefully examine your car before driving off. They had missed some damages, including touchup paint they'd used to cover up a fairly big scratch. I took pictures of the entire car, went back to the counter, and asked the agent to add the additional damages I found. He told me I didn't have to, but I insisted, and he was fine. Before Drop-Off: You MUST fill up your car before returning it. Their rate is ridiculous: about $10 + tax per gallon. There's an Arco station and a 76 station between the highway exit and the airport (both at the intersection of Airport Dr. and Bennett Dr). Drop-Off: There's no attendant on the parking lot. You log your mileage and the fuel gauge, and return your key to the counter. The agent at the counter WOULD NOT come out to the lot to inspect the car. So, you MUST take pictures of the entire car, including the interior to protect yourself from potential charges for a damage that you did not even cause. A Word of Caution and Advice: At the drop off, the agent asked me if I would like to get my receipt sent to my email. Stupidly, I said yes. They never emailed me the receipt. Since I didn't get any additional charges later on, it worked out ok, but I should have gotten a hard copy receipt before leaving the counter. I think everyone should get a receipt showing a balance of $0 before leaving the counter. A great central location in Bellingham. Very friendly staff I was able to stop in and talk to them, they helped me rent the right sized vehicle for my needs. Allegiant Air was the cheapest airline I would know, while Canadian airlines would cost more money and the difference was a big deal. Seats were alright not too comfortable. We included add - on just to be safe. There was nothing in the airplane not even a tablet to watch a movie. Water was not free. No free peanuts either. Staff offered ice when I asked for some. I was able to find tap water in Vegas airport before boarding time. Travel time was 2.5 hrs from Bellingham to Vegas. Trip was quick and inexpensive. Besides there was no delay or any troubles ever. It was not the best flight I've taken, but was a pretty good price overall. We paid $694 per person including flight and a hotel this saved us from headaches. Also Allegiant credit card gives points if you travel often via Allegiant Air.

The good prices aren't worth it even if you give two weeks notice of a severe medical condition and can't make the trip. There are never ever any refunds for any reason.
