Possibly, no, definitely the worst national car location in the country. Constantly sold out of cars, very very poor customer service, does not ever answer phone, and most importantly, half the cars have high mileage compared to other locations. Why does this matter? Because they dont take care of them. Never rented from this location that there wasn't something. Last time, it was that they didn't replace the tires on an suv, (definitely check the tires) and had a blowout. Not a fluke, just thousands of miles past their service life. Scary, but typical. But if you must book here, like me, do so very far in advance, because they don't have enough cars for the location. read more

Worst national location I've encountered. I rent with them exclusively for work because they are usually quick with nice vehicles. I am executive elite and rent with them about 6 times a month. This location is by far the worst. After waiting an hour in line to get to the rental counter (no executive or emerald aisles and the booth is outside so be ready to be uncomfortable) I had to then wait an additional 20 minutes for a car because they were all out. They brought me an economy car below my rental class that was not functioning. Back to waiting in line to swap it out with another vehicle... also below my rental class (while still paying full price mind you). So after two hours I'm finally leaving hot, sweaty, with a worse car than I paid for (I can't even fit my two bags in the "trunk"), and late for my business meetings. I then spoke with the manager Kyle about compensation... who then told me to wait and he would try to work on something. Avoid this location at all costs unless you really enjoy waiting and being late. read more

Great experience picking up my car on Friday and dropping off on Sunday. As an Executive member I chose the Toyota Camera... wow gas mileage is great. 509 miles on one tank. Everything was explained to me at the time I picked up car... and easy drop off. Excellent place to rent a car at Tulsa international. Rental cars are connected to airport terminal and no shuttle required. I dropped off rental car, checked my bag, went through security and at my gate in 12 min. That efficiency was due to National Rental cars easy Checkin to drop off vehicle...great customer service. read more

Got into Tulsa airport and headed to the car rental terminal. It's nice as it is right across the street from the baggage claim area of the airport. We don't have to ride a shuttle. He checks in to pick up a car and we are assigned a Dodge Charger. It's a little banged up so we make sure to document with the rental agent as we don't want to be charged for damages. Didn't notice until later there's a slit in the overhead lining. The car supposedly has been sanitized between customers but it's a little dirty in the back passenger area. I use the sanitizing wipe provided to clean it as we drive out of the airport. The agent did offer to rent us a tollway pass but he declined. If you're in a hurry you might want to take it as it's a straightforward way to your destination. We took the back roads which was nice as we could check out the area between OK and AK. He got a little frustrated because he wanted to reach out destination quickly and it didn't seem like you could get on the tollway once you were on the backroads. But we aren't familiar with the area and,like other men, he didn't want to take the time to either ask or consult a map. The rental agent was nice enough. Not overly friendly or approachable but not rude. When we returned the car, we drove over to the rental car terminal which was easy to locate. We drove up behind another car and the agent there checked us out. He couldn't give us a receipt because he said only the agent in the booth could. So we headed that way as it was on the way to transportation back to the hotel. No agent in the booth and one frustrated customer waiting. Who was then joined by another frustrated customer. We called for our ride back to the hotel and as we were waiting, an agent finally showed up. I understand breaks and shift changes but it would be nice if they leave a sign. I've noticed that this rental company does not do that. Not sure if other ones do. We didn't manage to get a receipt as our hotel shuttle came before the agent had even finished with the first customer. He did finally get a receipt two days later. Luckily we weren't charged anything inaccurately. Overall an average experience. The company would get a higher rating if their communication was better. When we arrived they were closed with no fix. Had to rent from Avis and was charged $120 more than I was paying with national. I had to travel last minute to Tulsa, OK for business and booked a reservation with National for a rental car. I needed to travel 45mins east of Tulsa (Locus Grove), so I had to have a rental to conduct my business. When I arrived into Tulsa late that evening I was told by the National counter person that my reservation (complete with confirmation number) was not valid because I booked it less than 24 hours in advance! He showed no sympathy or remorse what so ever, and turned me away to several other competitors. Thankfully the Hertz manager (yes, they had a manager on duty) took pity on me and found me a car. National has lost my business--how can a company give you a confirmation number and then say it is not valid!?!? read more

I am an emerald club member. This rental was a little different. Company sponsored so no emerald club for me. Which based on the looks was a very good thing. The garage was empty. But, putting that aside. We had a Nissan Rogue. Very clean, from counter to car was maybe three minutes with what I would call several people waiting. They seemed to be on their A game. They were also very nice. Four stars for the lack of cars. I'd be livid if I was renting emerald and my choices were very limited. read more

I rent cars on occasion but always for traveling and recently I've made a few trips to OK and rented from a few companies- but National is now my preferred! Some poor reviews states it's a "long walk", well sorry bud-ALL the rental cars are out in this lot-doesn't matter the company. And as friendly as most of them all are, the folks I rented from last time-Will and Geneva-were SO much fun! Not only was I enjoying the chat and jokes with them, they had all of us in line enjoying the conversation. Where else can you stand in line, still engage with the people assisting you, and when it's "your turn" to check-in you're still receiving JUST as thorough and fun assistance?! Situations like this stand out to me and show there are some greatly talented and customer focused individuals working. They made us all feel welcome, valued, and entertained!! I'm due another trip or two in the VERY near future to this location and because of Will and Geneva I will ONLY book a rental through national now. Ok, now the car stuff. Basically, I rented an econobox-got a bump up-and the car was fantastically clean! It was a great car to drive for the week, smelled and looked very clean and I couldn't give a single negative comment-even if I tried to stretch to find something, I couldn't. National car rental PVR keila at the airport office are like leeches.. If they don't screw someone per day they not making it happen for them. Stay away. They cancelled my reservation because whoever at their office made the reservation did it wrong and it went from $600 with full coverage insurance to. "oops its been cancelled but we will help you out and make you a new one right now" with a small detail it's going to cost you $1600 for a small suv same as the reservation. They never gave me the total they just said they were taking a deposit out and when I return the suv I will be charged full amount. Without telling me the total but before they ran my credit card I asked please tell me the total before you ran my card. "surprise" so I cancelled as soon as I heard the price and told the guy how dare you try to sneak this one on me. Left at 11pm with no car and next day I found out that they ran my card anyway for $1600 and some. read more

Car reserved was not available, another was substituted. Generally, all cars are unlimited mileage, was hit with a $460 mileage fee because the substituted car was a 'Premium' vehicle. It was a Toyota Avalon. Have been a Emerald Isle member for over a decade, may switch to Hertz. Check in person was unhelpful and generally did not want to be there, will avoid next time in Tulsa. read more

At IAD airport, the National and Alamo counters are at the same location. I had an Alamo rental through Priceline. I got on the National/Alamo shuttle and arrived at the rental car facility. I asked the shuttle driver what I needed to do since I was a National Emerald Aisle member but had an Alamo rental. He said "No Problem, just go pick out a car." I did what he said and drove up to the checkout kiosk. The person there took my ID and CC and processed the rental. He did not ask if I had a reservation or anything. On my return in 3 days, I was given a National bill for over $250. I contacted National and they said that records show I did a walk-up rental. I explained that I followed the shuttle driver's directions and they said they have no influence over what the shuttle drivers say. I then asked why the kiosk person would not ask if I had a reservation, etc... and they said that kiosk operators do not normally ask that. So, long story short, I paid for both a Priceline rental and a National walk-up rentall! And National has chosen to lose a customer rather than to resolve this issue. I encourage EVERYONE to boycott National rental facilities and choose an alternative rental company. I do contract work for National Geographic and rent maybe 20 times/year and National will no longer get my business and I am sharing my feelings with the other 20 people that do the same work I do and travel as much as I do. read more

I am a loyal National Emerald Club member, soon to be Executive. After renting from Tulsa for the first time, I am very disappointed. First, it's really deceiving to customers on arrival when it looks like there are both Emerald and Executive rows since they're signs hung like every other National location. So much so, I saw a car I liked and threw my luggage in and jumped in the driver's seat. I noticed there were no keys so I went to the booth. Here the agent mentioned they do no have Emerald or Executive rows. After asking about the car I had thrown my luggage in, I was told it was not a choice car, but an option as an upgrade. $50 more per day! Why is there not an upgrade sign in the window like other National locations? Anyway, after asking my options I'm given the choice of a Malibu or a minivan, yet the lady at the other window is given many more choices for the same class. I ask again but the agent cannot offer anything else. Also, the lot was packed full of various options, so I was surprised I was only given two choices. I hope next time I rent from this location there are more options and I feel more like a loyal National customer. read more

I visited Tulsa on a business trip and our company typically uses National Car rental. I've used them in other parts of the nation with no problem. When I got there, the kiosk representative suggested I purchase the ez pass for the tolls located throughout the local highway system. I agreed to the charge and placed the transponder on the interior side of the windshield. 2 months later I received a bill for the tolls I drove through in the mail. I called their service center to assist me in this and I was told that I was not charged for the pass and only for the tolls. The phone representative was polite and clear but in the end could not help me resolve this issue. I could make a larger issue of it, but for $7.50, I can spend my energy fighting elsewhere. Very disappointed with this branch of Nation car rental. Luckily, I will not likely need to return to Tulsa for some years to come. read more

Upon landing in Tulsa, I used the "new" mobile check in to select my vehicle (Buick Enclave), in order to help expedite the counter check-in, as there is no counter by-pass at this location. After, wandering to find the rental location, due to construction at the parking area and poor signage, I eventually found the check in counter. After standing in line for roughly 10 mins, I received a notification on the National App that advised me that my "time had expired" and my vehicle may longer be available. I was greeted at the counter and explained that I had received the notification. The counter person said, " The app will only hold your vehicle for 15 minutes. Then your vehicle is given to someone else." I was offered a small Jeep Compass to replace the full size SUV Buick. I explained that it isn't feasible to deplane, walk to baggage area, (wait 10-15 mins for bags), walk another 5+ minutes to the rental area and still make it in under 15 mins to the "use it or lose it" counter. Time line: *Deplane and Check in on app:10:55 am *Walk to bagged claim: 11:05 am. (Walk and restroom stop.) * Wait 10-15 mins for luggage : 11:15 am * 5 min Walk to rental car area :11:20 am * 10 min wait in line at National counter. 11:30 am. * 15 min discussion on why I can't get the keys to the Buick Enclave I reserved on line, even though the vehicle is still sitting in the reserved aisle. 11:46 am. * 10 -15 mins while counter people discuss options with each other, then walk all over the place looking for other cars in Alamo and Enterprise parking spots. 12:00 pm. It had now been an hour and the people have now assigned me to the exact same vehicle I reserved originally. Here is the point(s) What good is a 10 minute hold? If the App is for convenience, then make it so. It was only convenient for National. And actually, made it more cumbersome. Allow, the person that reserved on line, to proved a status or delay update. (Airline travel= schedule change) If you can't provide what was reserved, I should be upgraded! There were plenty of upgrades available. Time is valuable for everyone. An hour at the rental counter is NOT time well spent. read more

I will start by saying I am an Executive Elite with National not that it mattered when I got to this location. I was told sorry all we have are mini vans and pickups. So I said I guess give me a mini van. I found this odd because when I got to the parking lot there were many cars which were not mini vans or pickups. So I am in a hurry, do not have the time to go back to the counter and argue, and take my mini van. Next day I return my car and all the the different class cars I saw there the previous day were still there. I was left wondering if I was just shoved into a mini van or pick off they were looking to unload. So that the management there know this is a real experience I will tell them it occurred March 12, 2018 at 10:32 AM and the last 4 digits on my RA# 5094. I think I will skip this location my next time there anyways because they have no Emerald Aisle. read more

Before I go to far, I have used National for years and will continue to do so. I love being able to use my Emerald Aisle benefit to pick a car that best suits me and my needs. This past trip to Tulsa the picking was slim and I was given an Alamo car that was unsatisfactory, but it was that or no car at all. I made mention of this to the agent when i returned and I hope that it was addressed. This won't stop me from using National and I plan to rent from them next week. read more

The car was dirty and had to go to the nearest car wash so I could see. I've been a national user for years and this is usually the deal.

Up to this point, the service I have received from National has been 5 stars. However, that was not the case at the Tulsa Airport. My wife and I arrived on a very cold night to find that the person in the National booth had "stepped away for a minute." That minute was 20 minutes of us standing in the cold at 10:00pm waiting to get a car. I had use Virtual Aisle, so the process should have been quick. Instead, the person typed and typed on the screen instead of just scanning the bar code on my phone. Once they realized the car I had requested, they could not find the keys. I was ultimately given an upgrade for the trouble, but I had to request it - it was not offered! Seems like the Tulsa Airport National needs to invest in some training! read more

I'm a Emerald Club member and have always had a good experience with National...but I was particularly impressed with their willingness to stay late on a Sunday night to accommodate the delay to my arrival time. The plane landed after midnight when the National booth normally would have been closed. I called National prior to take off and they provided me with instructions that worked perfectly! I am an Executive Member. This was one of the worst rental experience. I came in on Monday night when the temperature was less than 10 degrees. The inside counter was closed. The line outside in the cold was 11 people deep and 15-20 minutes wait. There was no distinction with people doing walk up rental versus reservations. They kept trying to upsell everyone. The car I booked was not available. The cars were cold and took a while to heat up. The agents work inside a heated booth while the customers are outside in cold windy temperature. There are so many things that can be improved at this location even with an unsecure garage. I returned the rental car and did not get a receipt. The agent could not get one as she rushed through the process. I gathered the information and went to the booth and they could not print a receipt either. I went inside the terminal to speak with a manager or grab a business card. None were listed. They had to go and get a manager to find a business card. I spoke with the manager, but I am not certain changes will occur. It seemed more excuses were being made than understand how to improve. He said the right things but was looking for more protectionism than being pro-active. I hope they make changes, but no faith in this location. read more

I love National and have never been treated this way before. I am an Emerald Card member. I was told which car to pick. Definitely not my vehicle of choice. Girl was pretty much almost rude. No on showed me how to work any of the controls on the vehicle. It took me more than 5 minutes to figure out how to move the seat up so I could reach the pedals. I even got out of the car more than once and looked for help and no one came to assist me. Thank goodness I was only in town for about 6 hours at the most. Worst rental experience. Despite having a reservation, confirmed hours earlier for a nearly month-long stay in Tulsa, I arrived at the Emerald Aisle to find a long line of angry customers, and an empty parking lot. Either National hadn't saved cars for the customers who planned ahead and made reservations, or National knew there was a shortage, and neglected to transfer vehicles from other locations. This was a breakdown of basic business principles: Don't buy more than you can afford, and don't sell more than you can supply to your customer. Getting the run around at the airport, trying to make something work with National, Enterprise, Budget, and Hertz took nearly two hours. I had to take a cab to my hotel (nearly an hour away), and to the customer's site in the morning. I had to spend over an hour of my day talking on the phone with half a dozen National employees before I could be assured that when I traveled the hour back to the airport, that they would have a vehicle for me. In the end, National payed for the cab, and upgraded my car one level. It's a move in the right direction, but doesn't make up for the hours lost, and the poor attitudes dealt by the National employees. read more

I had to get a hotel nearby the airport and come back the next day to pick up my car. I have to start by saying that I recently switched from Hertz to National. I typically rent over 50 times a year so I am a high volume renter and Hertz just wasn't treating their faithful renters very well anymore. So far I LOVE National....except for Tulsa. I have rented here twice and their customer service is WAY below what I have experienced at other locations. I am an Executive Elite and their automobile selection has been sparse both times that I have rented here. I ended up having to wait for them to bring a decent vehicle...which they eventually did. But when I asked for them to call and see if they had anything nice being washed her somewhat rude response was "there isn't anyone for me to call." I have been lucky and both times I have rented here I ended up getting a good car...but only after a wait and with no extra effort from the counter person. They just happened to bring one up after I waited long enough. Don't even get me started on the return process. Granted it was early in the morning and there is construction going on, but signage telling what to do since there isn't anyone there would help. So far my impression of Tulsa is poor customer service and a crap shoot as to if you will get a decent car. I have actually reserved a Hertz car for my next trip in. read more

Maybe I tend to travel to larger airports where better rental services exist. I am a devoted National / Enterprise user. Our company pushes that chain over the others and I don't feel I'm getting a bad deal. As I read the other reviews, only one is on target. 1. The airport has poor signage to guide you to the Rental Car locations. An arrow up next to stairs would lead me to believe National is upstairs, not farther forward. No help there. This is a big issue. I walked and walked to find the National. Very Poor signage. 2. I'm on board with another review here. I am Executive Elite and I should not have to wait in line. Maybe two counters, or a preferred lane. Their car selection and presentation was poor. In fact, someone was trying to get into the car promised to me. again, signage to exit the rental garage was very poor. 3. Heat in the garage is a huge factor. I'll just say, I'm not a fan of the car rental services at Tulsa. Not real user friendly, but these are not only the fault of National / Enterprise, but this is also the fault of airport management. read more

I was disappointed in the service at Tulsa. I remember thinking the same thing when I was there two years ago. I've been an Emerald Club (sometimes Executive) member for many years and only rent with National because of the great service. I didn't get this in Tulsa. I'm not understanding why you advertise Emerald Aisle service and you have to wait in line to get your car. After I had been standing in line for 10 minutes (the people in front of me had credit card issues), I asked the clerk did they offer emerald aisle service. She told me that they didn't because they weren't in a secure area. I would have stopped inside where there were probably more workers had I known this. I waited another five minutes and walked over to the Hertz area and had someone help me there. It isn't that they employees weren't nice or helpful (they were), but to wait 15 or 20 minutes to get a car ANYWHERE is ridiculous. read more

National Car rental was close to the baggage claim area. The only negative was there was no bypass the counter and you had to go to the counter and have to wait in line to find out what car was available for rental. The process was quick but it would've been easier to slect a car and go. read more

I rented a FULL-SIZE car online at Priceline.com for 7/10/15 thru 7/19/15. Note: We needed a full-size car as my husband's back does not bend well getting in and out of a car so we had to have a larger door height to make it easier for him. Also, he is handicap and uses a cane. We are in our 60's. We arrived at the Tulsa airport on time. After retrieving our bags, we followed the Car Rental signs to the other end of the terminal. NO ONE was at the "inside" National Reservation Counter (even though we had a reservation and they knew we were coming!). (Enterprise's employees were there, but they would not help us even though both companies are under the same parent company.) Enterprise told us to go down the elevator and that the National Counter was in the parking area "just to the left" of the elevator. WRONG! National was way back across the parking lot (just below the baggage floor from where we started!). It was over 100 degrees that day with no breeze. We were first in line. I explained to the National employee that we were there to pick up our rental car and tried to give him the confirmation printout. The employee gave me a quizzical look. Then started asking questions: when did you make the reservation, what type of car, how long, etc. I told him the answers and pushed the confirmation through the window (into his air conditioned area!) so he could see it. He looked at it and said (no kidding), "oh, you booked through priceline." Well, yes we did. I asked if there was a problem with that and he said no. He looked at his available cars and said, "all we have is a VW Beetle." HE WAS SERIOUS! I said that was unacceptable and explained why. (By this time a line is starting to form behind us.) He kept searching through his papers while National's customers stood in 100 degree heat. He finally called someone on the phone and explained that we were standing there and had a reservation for a full-size car. There was some conversation back and forth and then I heard him say, "they booked through priceline (pause) .....yes." He got off the phone and said, "the only cars we have are the VW Beetle or the Infiniti Q50 " (which National says is full-size, but all Auto Websites (including Infiniti's) indicate it is a medium size car. By this time, we had been standing in the heat for over 45 minutes. I said ok to the Infiniti and we started towards the car. At first, the employee did not give me any documents to show that I rented the car (he jokingly said "just don't let a cop pull you over!") nor was he going to do a "walk-around" to note any defects on the car. I insisted he do both (which was good because the roof trim was halfway off). I have to say this was the WORST experience I've ever had in renting a car. We travel a lot and rent cars in most places. We will NEVER rent from National again. It is extremely POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE to make customers STAND IN THE HEAT when there's a perfectly good counter inside the air-conditioned building. And, it was obvious that my renting the car through priceline.com (lower price than other websites) was the reason they would not give me the car I specifically rented. If National doesn't want to abide by Car Rental Contracts set up by priceline.com, then they should remove their name from priceline's company list. read more

After standing in line outside in the rain for 20 minutes, I was greeted by a friendly employee who was doing the best he could. The car was clean and the turn in was easy. Its a bit of a long walk to the terminal from the drop off. If you have a lot of luggage this is something to consider in your planning. read more
