Thrifty telling me the gas tank was full! But still trying to charge me more than the rental for fuel! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I should have known that the "managers special" was too good to be true! Rental went fine. Nissan Sentra. Got us from point A to point B. No issues, until two weeks after renting the car I get a letter in the mail (not an email, like every other piece of correspondence for this rental) stating that "11.67 gallons of gas were needed to refuel the vehicle" when it was serviced after my rental. I have the receipt that THEY GAVE ME saying "fuel 100% out fuel 100% in". I tried to call, but you can't talk to a human. I emailed the receipts to Thrifty (Hertz), and I am also sending copies of the receipts to Thrifty via USPS. I am also disputing the charge with my credit card company. I usually do not rent from Thrifty/Hertz, but I fell for the "Managers Special" on Travelocity. I will not make the mistake of renting from this company again. It's either corporate greed at it's worst, or completely incompetent staff. Either way DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

Our flight got in at 11pm so we stayed at the hotel right next to the airport and I got over to the car rental place a little before 8am to pick up the car. The pickup is outside and hertz, Alamo and thrifty are in the same booth. The guy in the booth is awesome! Helpful and explains everything even down to the prices of adding gas their or yourself. The whole process took 5 mins and although I had booked a car they were out and only had a truck but it's pretty nice. I researched everything before going so I already knew they only stay up to 10 mins after 9pm and i don't blame them. Who wants to work 3 hours of overtime waiting for one person to pick up a rental car. There were a few people who stayed at the hotel for the same reason (that the rental car places close at 9pm). Honestly it's the same process at every rental place within an airport. You get the keys and walk to the car. I don't think they deep clean the cars between each customer but it definitely wasn't dirty. These cars are in constant rotation at a busy airport. It's a rental not a new car so don't expect a luxurious Bentley.

Took a picture of front and back of my license and added my home address. Check in complete- please proceed to the Hertz counter. When we arrived at the Hertz counter (which is the farthest one away in the garage ) the woman was rude. I politely said hello and my name, and she just snapped I need your license! I said I already did the online check in, she said again I need your license! Okay, no problem. She said I need a credit card for a $200.00 hold, put it in the machine. I did and she starts typing in the computer. She asks if I want the extra insurance and if I want to pre pay for gas - no thank you. She said your car is number 14 over there! I asked what kind of car I was given and she finally told me. No thank you, goodbye, nothing. The car was a 2024 Nissan Rogue and drove great with plenty of room. However, the car was completely out of windshield fluid and the front seats were all stained. You would think with a brand new car they would have it detailed to keep it looking good for customers. When we returned the car at the airport, I mentioned the windshield fluid and the man said yeah they are supposed to fill that up when they wash the car .... I now know why the reviews are so bad. Rude customer service and no one does their job. We usually use Enterprise when we rent a vehicle, but decided to give Hertz a try. Well, goodbye Hertz, we are returning to Enterprise!

Come to find out all the high rated companies are owned by the same folks. Bravo to that group for providing quality service. Enterprise was also one of the select few that had a published phone number that would get you to an actual Tulsa agent vice the 1-800 black holes. I got into Tulsa just short of 11pm and was able to find my way to the garage booth and the young lady there was very warm, friendly, and speedy. She was able to put me in a truck and I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. Highly recommend the Tulsa Airport Enterprise for future rentals. *Note on TUL Intl: Don't go down stairs to find the rental counters, they are on the main floor just outside security. The booths are across the drive on the top level of the parking garage. Signage is small when you come out of the concourses (A or B) but, you can find them pretty quickly if you pay attention.

We got an exchange along the route, used it for the rest of the trip, and delivered it back 3 hours before we needed to return it. The next morning, we received a charge not just for a late fee but for the entire rental all over again. After an hour and a half long call with customer service requesting a correction for the late fee as well as a refund for one of the total rental charges, we received another charge a day later without any specificity for what it was in reference to. In total, a rental that we prepaid less than $200 for has cost us more than $600 and we've yet to receive a refund. We won't be using Budget/Avis for a rental car again.

Will an EV survive a 5 hour drive on back roads? Clerk doesn't know and doesn't seem to care. I can find charging stations online. I accepted the minivan, which is twice the size of any car I've driven in the last 30 years. And I expect it will use a lot more gas than the compact car I reserved . I chose budget because AARP members get a discount, but AARP should sever ties with companies that bait and switch.

We drove the heck out of it and returned late on Sunday afternoon. We just pulled up and the lil gal took the keys, gave me a receipt and said, "see y'all " so i guess that was good, and it was fast. Fairly good prices, but DW was 27.99/day, which seems expensive, unless you've ever dealt with damage to a rental...so it was fine with me. Nice to not stop at tollbooths but that was another $4/day. Why can't I give these folks ZERO stars??…read more Booked a pre-paid rental online. Arrived 12/2/2013 10 minutes ahead of res. time. Took 10 minutes to get to the counter (this was fine), and gave my reservation number to the clerk. He was new and couldn't manage to get the contract to print. After 20 minutes of failed attempts the other clerk, Micheal, started to help. Micheal printed the contract, but it read $262.71 instead of just the $200 deposit. I explained that I gad already paid for the rental, and should only have to pay the deposit. He said, "This is how it always works." . By now a line is backing up. I repeatedly asked how much was being charged to my credit card at the counter, and Micheal only said "I already explained, and you didn't understand. I can't do anything more for you." He NEVER EVER Answered my question: "How much are you charging to my card?" There was no receipt or authorization that said the correct $200 amount. After Micheal had been helping for less than 10 minutes, he was clearly getting anxious about other customers in line, and told me "Look, there is nothing I can do for you, so I'm just going to cancel your reservation." I told him "OK, then refund my payment." He informed me that he couldn't do that since there was no manager there to ok it. So, he never answers my question about the charges to my card, threatens to cancel my prepaid and confirmed reservation without offering a refund, and then has the audacity to threaten to call airport security to remove me from the counter. I will point out that I never used any profanity, never made any insulting remarks (as he did repeatedly to me in public implying I couldn't afford the deposit, and couldn't understand his "explanation"), and never raised my voice. I had been waiting 40 minutes by now for a prepaid rental. I just signed everything he asked me to and left. When I reached my hotel, I went online to my CC site, and found that only the $200 haad been charged to my card. Why couldn't Micheal have just said "Your card is only being charged the $200."? That would have solved everything, and I had asked at least 4 times. The original trainee was unready to deal with a prepaid reservation, and Micheal was EXTREMELY RUDE and THREATENING within 10 minutes of stepping in to help. YOU GET ZERO STARS!!!!!!! I will NEVER under any circumstances use Advantage again, and I will relate this anecdote to as many people as possible.
