It would not come close to fitting in my normal size parking spaces at work and home (I live and work in a Washington DC which parking space is always limited). I looked at the customer service agent in disbelief. He was not kidding. I had to wait over an hour for him to bring a car from another location...and he was not happy to have to do it. He was one of those "used car salesmen" types...sickeningly friendly - so insincere. 2. The car I was given seemed ok but neither he nor i noticed what had to have been a hairline crack in the back windshield because when, a couple of days later, I shut the door and stepped on the brake to start the car (I had not yet touched the button to start the car, I had only stepped on the brake), the slight motion shattered the entirety of the back windshield. It was shocking to say the least. I returned the car and he refused to even speak to me about it, saying it was my fault. My insurance was charged WAY TOO MUCH for the windshield - over $700 - and I had to pay a $250 deductible. They actually made money on it!

Mesi was working and told me that she would call me as soon as the delivery of minivans arrived at the Georgetown location so that I could show up earlier to guarantee I got the van. As an executive member, I was disappointed in the selection and time it took to get a vehicle. When I finally got the vehicle, the car was covered in water spots which made it difficult to see when driving into the sun. I think I used almost all of the washer fluid in 4 days. Upon return, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. This was the total opposite of the arrival experience. So 3 stars with 1 for arriving and choosing a vehicle and 5 for the return.

I was charged $101.35 to refuel my car. That means that I was charged $7.09 per gallon to refuel. I talked to customer service and they said they refilled 22 gallons which is absolutely impossible as the fuel tank capacity is only 14.3 gallons assuming I drained the tank dry. That means I am being defrauded by Budget and they are filling other cars up with my money. I was promised a free upgrade and when I got to the place to pick up my car in Boston I was told they didn't have any upgraded cars to give me. Instead I got the worst car in the fleet. It had a bad bounce in the back end that vibrated the car at any speed over 60. Frankly, it was dangerous. I was able to trade it for another car in Middleton Pennsylvania. I drove that car for 3 miles and discovered it didn't have USB jacks that worked and cigarette burns in the passenger seat. So I returned that and got a THIRD car. It had an issue that turned off the front radar until it decided to be on and then it would slam on the brakes randomly as I changed lanes. Another dangerous car. I called customer support and they said there is nothing they can do. I believe there is something they can do. 2 out of 3 cars were dangerous, all three were broken. It's not a good look.

We need a rental for a day trip when we were staying in National Harbour. This location which is 5 min walk from our hotel. We arranged to pick up our rental at 8 am and able to do an overnight off hour drop off. This is perfect as it saved us time and unnecessary overnight parking charges. Location is a little tricky to find. Best to ask hotel staff for directions if it is your first time. This will save you a lot of agony. The small counter is located in the 2nd floor across from the parking garage. There is only 1 person working so basically she has to everything including cleaning the vehicle after rental. Don't be surprised if there is no one picking up the phones or even anyone be in the office during business hours. Eventually I did talk to the staff and able to confirm my reservation. The rental process was smooth and fast. After some paper work we on our way in 15 minutes. Dropping off was straight forward, as we just parked the car at the designated parking at the parking garage on the 5th floor and put the key in the overnight key drop in the rental office. The rental though was not in good condition. The interior was dirty. The exterior was all scratches and dents. I was a little worry that they might make me pay for some of the previous existing damages. Luckily I was charged the amount as agreed in my rental agreement. With the limited car rental companies in the immediate area, Hertz is probably the best and the only option.

When it was my turn, it was apparent through my interaction with the rental assistant that the staff needs customer service skills training badly! When we opened the car door, it was overwhelmingly obvious that there were no efforts to clean the interior (or exterior including Windows) of the vehicle. It gets better...as we drove down SOUTH through the land of attentive highway patrolmen, I opened the armrest to discover obvious residue of marijuana!
