Stay away from this place. They made me a reservation to pick up a car at a time when they were closed.

Extremely poor customer service and lack of transparency at this Enterprise location. I arrived around 1:00 PM during a holiday week after Enterprise picked me up from Mercedes-Benz Collision for a rental covered by insurance. I was told digital IDs were not accepted. I offered my passport, which Olivia stated was also unacceptable. I was instructed to return with my physical ID and was not informed of any additional requirements. After returning later the same day during rush hour I was assisted by Keith, who was dismissive and unhelpful. I was told only one car (a Hyundai) was available, despite having an insurance-approved reservation. At that point, I was suddenly told a deposit was required, something that was never disclosed earlier. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, Keith stated he was the manager and resisted escalating the issue. After multiple requests, I spoke with Nick, who offered no resolution. As a result, I had to retrieve my vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Collision for the second time and delay repairs entirely. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy at this location was unacceptable. I would not recommend this branch and will not rent here again. read more

I am also emerald and executive. He found a vehicle that would work. I reserved a truck, but could not get a truck. I had to move a large item back with me and he found a Chrysler van that was actually better and drove excellent. The seats fold into the floor leaving lots of space and drove great! Renting a car has been very difficult during the pandemic, and I was worried about renting from this location since I hadn't used it. But the service was fantastic. There was quite a crowd of renters on Monday morning, but the team managed it well. Paige patiently explained a few of the car's controls to me, offered to print the rental agreement, and answered all of my questions. The car was clean and ready to go upon my arrival. Paige was there when I returned it and processed the return in about two minutes. I requested a ride to my home and since I live close by Lucien did it immediately. (There were no other customers.) In May 2023 the rental office is being renovated, so customers should go into the garage to conduct business. There are signs providing directions. I deducted one star because local Enterprise locations are still not providing a full tank of gas, which means the customer must try to return the car with the same amount of gas - usually 3/4 full. It's difficult to do and the customer often ends up donating gas to Enterprise. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS ENTERPRISE! I had a reservation booked and called and spoke to a female that said she was the assistant manager! She had the worst attitude and was extremely rude. I wanted to upgrade my vehicle but she just yelled at me and lied about the policy on upgrading rentals. I told her I was a repeat customer and when she looked up my information she told me that I couldn't upgrade then when I asked if her branch manager was available she said she was the assistant handling everything because no one above her was in then I asked for her name and she hung the phone up on me. I will not be returning! Poor customer service! Let me just say this!!! This Enterprise Rent-A-Car location has the best customer service. The staff are friendly, prompt and are eager to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. I use this location for personal/business rentals and each time I go to pick-up my vehicle, it's ready, clean and in good condition. This location also has a wide range of vehicle selections. I like that!!! The pick-up and drop-off has been smooth and easy and I also appreciate the after hours drop-off availability in case I return from a work trip late. It's convenient! Here are a few tips: When using Uber/Lyft, look for the Enterprise Rental Signage on the front entry door. Directions will inform you to take the elevator to the right, to Level P2 where a Enterprise Staff Member will greet you. If you are returning a vehicle, the garage entrance is right next door. My insurance company rented a car from Enterprise to use while my car is being repaired. I picked up the car on 4/19/2023 at the Bessemer, AL location. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I noticed the windshield was dirty the representative said they were out of window cleaner. After driving the car I returned home in the late afternoon parking on my driveway. Later I parked the car in my garage then noticed oil drippings on my driveway and garage floor. I opened the hood and saw oil splatter covering over half the engine compartment. I then checked the oil level and found no oil in the engine. On 4/20/20023 I phoned Enterprise location and told them of the trouble. This is where it gets even worse, they assured I would get another car when the car was towed back to their location. The towing service said their instructions was to take the car to Enterprises repair facility on 50th. St. Birmingham, AL. I phoned the Bessemer location they then said the car was supposed to be brought to them I told them that was between them. I ask when I could pick up my replacement car they said they didn't have any cars available. They had told me in my earlier conversation around 8am they would give me another car when the broken car was returned. 1545 hours the towing service towed the car to the Enterprise facility. I again phoned Enterprise they said they did not have a car for me and were waiting for a return car and they would call me when a car was available. 1440 hours they called and said they had a car for me. They refused to deliver the car requiring me to travel 21 miles both ways. My wife drove the car home and said the inside windshield was covered with film and it affected her vision. (I guess they're still out of window cleaner.) This debunks everything they advertise about having clean cars. I don't even need to say I won't be a customer again. read more

Rented from this location of Enterprise while my car was at the shop. I had a good experience with these guys - service was professional and friendly. They dont have many cars on the lot, but that was not an issue for me as there was 1 car for the category I wanted to rent, but this can be a problem for folks who may not get the car they signed up for. I did have to come back after an hour since the car I wanted was at some local chop getting an oil change. The guys did call me to let me know when the car was ready tho! This review isn't based on one occurence, I've been coming here for the past couple years do to their proximity to my apartment. Today was the final straw. When I show up they tried to give me a luxury vehicle instead of the regular sedan I reserved. Then they said I could only use a cc, even though I've used my debit every other time I've rented. Finally they tried to charge about 5 times than the value of the reservation amount they asked for online! I live in Adams Morgan, but work in Ballston and I don't own a car. How stoked was I to find $9.99/day weekend rentals at this Enterprise location down the street from the office! Suh-weeeeeeet! Seriously, pick up Friday and return Monday = $34. Not sure how long the special will last, but it's been great so far. Downsides: * The hours are sparse, but you know that in advance, so there are no surprises. * Sometimes the cars don't have full tanks. Of course you only have to bring it back the way you found it, but try filling up to 13/16 of a tank. Inevitably you'll fill it all the way and give them free gas. * Dirty. That's why they lose a star. Maybe it's my luck, but all 3 of my rentals were pretty filthy. The first time they noticed and gave me 10% off. The second time they comped me. The third time I didn't bother complaining. There's a pattern here. They should work on this. Upshots: * Prices, see above. * Friendly. Rented from this Enterprise location again recently because I had such a good experience with them in the past. This time the experience was much more mediocre. I reserved an economy vehicle, since I really didn't need anything bigger. When I showed up, I had my own Seinfeld moment. Agent: "I'm sorry, we don't have any economy cars available." Me: "But I made a reservation." Agent: "I see that, but we ran out of cars." Me: "OK..." Agent: "But, it's you're lucky day! Because I'm going to upgrade you to something even better." So we walk out to the parking lot and the agent takes me to an SUV. I'm sorry, but this "upgrade" is really just a higher fuel bill, as far as I'm concerned. And how did I get bumped all the way up the chain from the smallest car in their inventory to the biggest? I don't find SUVs "cool" and would MUCH prefer a small car for city driving. This time around, they wouldn't waive the "young driver fee" which wound up costing me $45 for the weekend. At least I'll cross the arbitrary 25 year line in a few months and not have to deal with that again. All in all, I won't rent from this Enterprise again, especially now that I don't live in Arlington anymore. read more

This is my most recent review of the Enterprise Car Rental location at 700 N Glebe Road here in Sunny Arlington. I have been an Enterprise customer for years, most in part to the pick up service, great prices, and reliable cars. But now I am loyal to this location. I can't tell you how many times they have been friendly and offered fantastic customer service. And TODAY was no exception. In the dictionary they define Hero as a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. That might be a word reserved for a police officer, firefighter, or soldier however today I will not over reach, rather set that frame and use the word Heroic to describe the efforts of Brian,John (third week trainee) and the amazing Amy. Yesterday we stopped by and asked Amy to reserve a car for my wife for pick up today. We messed up and did not leave her phone, rather mine and I did not see (was on a run) that they called early this morning 7am ish to get my wife set up. When I did call back Amy talked to my wife and got things squared away. My wife has an important meeting this weekend out of town and really needed to have a car ready for her. She was picked up at around 10am and then headed to her client to get some material. Well one of the things was six feet long by 4 feet wide and did not fit in the car she had, time was running out, she needed to get on the road soon. We called Amy who quickly confirmed that a larger vehicle was available (on a Friday after noon no less) and said to come by and she would swap cars. My wife zoomed over and was given a minivan (A MINIVAN - say hello to my little soccer mom) for FREE (because she could not get us a prius) and included the gas. And she was on her way, on time, and they remember her name, that she was my wife, and were just super warm, friendly, and fun. I applaud this team of young professionals and cannot thank them enough (donuts perhaps) for the hard work and CAN-DO attitude, always serving the customer. You had us at "Free Upgrade" read more

I have a long-term rental as a result of the massive airbag recall. When I got the car, the process was quick, painless, friendly and professional. I had a subsequent question weeks later and "Riley" helped me out immediately on the phone - super friendly phone manner too. I've rented cars from various Hertz, Budget, etc. locations all over Arlington - this one really stands out as the best in the city. They went above and beyond for me when I had a rental booked last fall - I went to pick it up, and my credit card was declined (went $1 over my credit limit.) With the system not being able to run a different card once the first card is declined, instead of having me fend for myself, the manager had a different employee drive me in the rental I booked to another nearby Enterprise location so they could run my card there, AND took off the $100 deposit hold so that the card would run. They turned what could've been a disaster day for me into a great experience. They may be a touch pricier than other rental car companies in the area but they are 100% worth it. read more

I've rented cargo vans a couple of times for moving. Never had an issue and they've always been extremely polite. If it's rainy or cold, they'll offer to drive you back after your rental. A complete 180 from UHaul if you can get by with the smaller size. I This location is a little bit larger and keeps better hours than the Enterprise location down the street on Randolph. It's a quick walk to the Metro. If you sign up for their email list before you go in, there's almost always at least a 10% discount. read more

My insurance company provided a rental car while my car was in the shop. This location was closest to my home, so it made sense to come here. When I picked up the car, I was immediately turned off by the agent assisting me. He refused to shake my hand for fear of catching the flu. I understood the point, but it rubbed me the wrong way. When it came time to initial the paperwork, he made an odd point of not getting his hands anywhere near mine. I should point out that I was not sick and didn't "look" sick. The car itself was great. It was clean and the gas tank was almost completely full. In fact, I liked the rental better than my own car. There were hidden fees that weren't covered when I picked up the car. I assumed State Farm was covering all associated costs. Not so much, and I do take some responsibility for not asking questions. However, I do think that the rental agent could have been more clear. It would have saved me from the heart attack I almost had when I saw that my debit card had been charged $350 I suppose he was too afraid of catching my cooties to worry about reviewing the entire rental contract. When I realized that I was being charged for insurance that I did not consent to, I called the office. The customer service was terrible. The agent who answered the phone said he couldn't talk to me because there were several people in the shop. Okay, that's fine. After 45 minutes, I called again and was told the manager would give me a call back. Nope. After two days of this crap, I gave up and just ate the $350. If I had been rude or overly demanding, I could understand the refusal to return my calls. However, I was politely calling to ask questions about my charges. Ignoring your customers is disrespectful, and I will never use Enterprise again. I am still debating whether I should file a complaint with the corporate office. read more

We rented a cargo van on the coldest day of the year. Despite the frigid conditions, we received prompt and courteous from James, the manager of the Glebe road location. Employees, like James, are the primary reason that we continue to rent from Enterprise. You can rent a car from several companies in Arlington. But almost none provide the consistent level of great customer service that Enterprise does. The van was immaculate inside and out. James gave a small break on the gas as we were only making a 3-mile trip. The return checkout was pleasant and quick. We asked about the Enterprise ownership. James gave us a quick history of the family-owned business. At this location, there is a Spanish speaking employee. We watched her explain the details of a rental agreement to a couple whose first language is not English. This service provided a quicker check-out for all those there. read more

Three clerks are standing, sitting, or otherwise engaged in twiddling their thumbs. However renting the car wasn't the issue, it was returning the car. I call during the day to enure someone can give me a ride after I return the vehicle. Remember those commercials advertising "We'll pick you up". The voice on the end of the line said, "Where is your destination". I said Court House. (Granted it's a few metro stops away or a nice stroll, but 1) Enterprise is branded with "We'll pick you up". 2) It's winter.) The voice on the end of the line said, "Where is that?" Given that Ballston and Court House are three metro stops from each other I wanted to make sure I called the right Enterprise. The voice assured me I phoned the correct location. At that point I was little perplexed at how someone can work in Northern Virginia and not know the area where s/he works. Fast forward to actually walking into the trailer to drop off the car. Here's the scene again, three clerks are standing, sitting, or otherwise engaged in twiddling their thumbs. I wait for a good two minutes before someone asked me if i was returning. Yes, I tell her. I give her my name, keys, etc. and she processes my paperwork. She at no point said hello, thank you, you-made-it-just-in-time before we closed. I got nothing. I then ask about the "we'll pick you up" slogan and she proceeded to tell me that it's too late for that. I look at her with a puzzled face and said I called earlier in the day and the person assured me there would be a ride. At no point did the person say that the slogan expires after a certain time in the day. This irritates me, but what irritated me even more was the young man who then gets up from his chair, cocks his head back, and gives me a teethy grin in a mocking manner. 1. You work in a customer-related field, learn some manners, 2. You make the young professional in Northern Virginia look bad. We don't need any more help in that department. read more

Customer and service are not in the same sentence with this place. In May, I needed to get to NJ to pick up a piece of family furniture. My husband reserved me a vehicle and when I went to pick it up after work I saw that it was a box van and way too big for me to drive safely. So I spoke with the Assistant Manger Kalif to see if he could get me a smaller vehicle. He said "no" and browbeat me into not only taking the van but getting the extra insurance. After "test' driving it home 1.5 miles I knew it was too big so I turned around and returned it. Shaking and on the verge of tears, I again tried to get another vehicle from this location or another Enterprise location, but they would not help me. And on top of that they charged me the full day rate of almost $100. I put the matter through my credit card company but Enterprise corporate and then the location Manager Rebecca would not compromise or refund anything, and said since two months had past it was too long ago????? to consider a refund of any type. The ironic part of this was that I was able to rent a smaller van that day from the Enterprise location in Shirlington (much nicer people!) all on my own. My go-to car rental service and location, this place is small but staffed with good people. Every time I arrive, they always greet me and meet with me immediately or let me know how soon they'll be back. Normally, no more than a minute or two until someone arrives. The cars are in good shape and if they're out on the lot? 10 minutes away they seem to have an arrangement with a dealership to get you out of the door fast. I haven't used their pick-up service, but if I'm ever curious, I'll give it a try and I'm sure I'll be satisfied. Their customer service has been awful. I was hit by someone who rented from this location and they had the full extra insurance coverage. I had to get my insurance involved just to get my car fixed and still have not got any compensation for my brand new car that had to have almost $6000 of repairs done. Every time I call them the "manager" gives me a different number of corporate or their insurance or damage recovery unit all of which have been no help at all. The guy hit me in May 2013 and I'm still trying to get something from them. The following is a letter I had to send to Enterprise that details my experience. Eventually, the charges to my credit card were removed. Dear Enterprise Damage Recovery Unit: This letter is to address the accident report that your representative Mr._ filed against me for a car I rented from your branch located at 1211 N Glebe Rd., Arlington, VA. It is filed under claim# _. Let me make clear that I categorically deny that the damage done to the vehicle in question, as is described in the accident report, was a result of my operating the vehicle during the rental period 10/22/2016 - 10/24/2016. I deny completely that any damage was done to the vehicle during the duration of my rental contract. There are a couple points to make with regard to the report that was filed, which I will now proceed to layout in the rest of this letter. 1. In the original rental agreement (# _) under the "vehicle condition" subheading, the damage that is described is nearly identical to what Mr._ entered under the "accident description" subheading in the vehicle accident report that he filed when I returned the vehicle at the end of the rental period. This means that the damage Mr._ noted in the accident report had already been documented by Enterprise before I rented the vehicle. Therefore, my claim of not having done any damage to the vehicle is substantiated by the original rental agreement. The irony is that it was Mr._ who had done the initial walk-around with me to inspect the vehicle for damage when I first received the car. When I initially pointed out the scratches on the front driver's side before renting the vehicle he said it was not worth noting because it was normal "wear and tear" for a rental car. Then, upon the return of the vehicle, Mr._ went directly to where he knew there was preexisting damage (since it was already documented in the original rental agreement) and started pulling hard on the front panel of the vehicle to show me that it was loose claiming I had done it. Later in the day, after I had reviewed the original rental agreement, I called and spoke to Mr._ at his Enterprise location on 10/24/2016 to bring the documented preexisting damage to his attention, yet he still maintained he made no mistake and refused to rescind the accident report that he filed. Furthermore, Enterprise's Damage Recovery Unit also failed to recognize this discrepancy in its own review of the case and has taken no remedial action. Given the above circumstances, one can only come to the conclusion that Enterprise is running nothing less than a scam. 2. The $250.00 that Mr._ charged to my credit card as the damage fee is also something that Enterprise needs to answer for. During the return inspection of the vehicle on 10/24/2016, when Mr._ noted the damage, he told me that while he was unsure of how much it would cost to repair the damage to the vehicle, the cost could be as little as $35.00. While this is not an official estimate from an auto repair shop, you can imagine my bewilderment when Mr._ told me he was charging me $250.00 for damages. On this, he said he was doing me a "favor" because usually he would charge a customer $500.00 for the same kind of incident. Therefore, I would like Enterprise to answer: What is the company's official policy on this? After thoroughly reviewing the terms and conditions of the rental contract I signed with Enterprise, I cannot find any paragraph or article that states a specific dollar amount for what will be charged of a renter in the case of damage being done to the vehicle. Paragraph 7 of the terms and conditions states that the renter is obligated to pay "the amount necessary to repair [the] vehicle." In the same paragraph, it mentions a formula that Enterprise uses to determine a "sum of loss" fee, as well as a $50.00 administrative fee for repairs under $500.00. I would be much obliged if you can direct me to the exact paragraph/article in the rental contract that states Enterprise will take $250.00, $500.00 or any other dollar amount in the case of damage being done to the vehicle by the renter. This is to clarify that the $250.00 that Mr._ charged to my credit card is not an arbitrary number, but is indeed in accordance with the rental agreement. If this cannot be found in the contract, then the contractually binding amount I should have been charged should be in accordance to what is described in Paragraph 7 of the terms and conditions. Hence, I am requesting that Enterprise provide me with an itemized quote or receipt from an auto repair shop for the repairs that have been/will be done to the vehicle. Not only is a quote or receipt necessary for me to file a claim with my insurance company, but it is also to ensure that insurance fraud is not taking place, in which case, I would be obliged to report this to the attorney general's office. As a repeat customer of Enterprise, I would have expected to be treated more professionally by your company than how I was. Best regards, read more
