We recently rented a last-minute vehicle while visiting the area during the July 4th Holiday. We called them at 2 pm the day we wished to rent a vehicle. It was the closest rental office to our hotel nearby. Their pick-up van was broken yet they still were able to assist us in getting to the office for the rental. It was super busy in their offices, yet we were acknowledged and taken care of in a timely manner. A BIG shout-out to John, Jeff & Josh!! You did us a solid. My reservation said to bring a credit or debit card, but after taking the metro to enterprise, they would not allow me to rent a car with a debit card. The reservation also said that after hours drop off was available, but this location said it is not. This was a waste of my time. Will not bother with enterprise again. Credit cards are for people who can't actually afford what they're paying for. Just ask Dave Ramsey. The lack of flexibility and concern for driver safety is extremely disappointing. I had to pick up a rental due to accident where the other persons insurance covered the costs. They picked me up from the dealership and brought me to the store. Tiyana / Tiana (hope one of those spellings are correct) was amazing. She saw that my car I own was a rav4, but the insurance was only trying to cover me for their smallest model. She was able to contact the insurance company for me & upgrade me to a intermediate size model so that I can have a similar model to my rav4 to be comfortable at no extra cost to me. Didn't do his job correctly and he ended up not helping us at all and made everything so difficult. we wanted to rent out a mini van for a trip but at the VERY last minute once we got to the place the guy said its not suitable to drive and wasted our time. poor customer service, didn't have no good quality cars nothing. go somewhere else but here. there was people waiting to rent a car and took so much time for others too. this doesn't deserve a one star either read more

With a little traffic, I was running 2 minutes late to my rental appointment. I called 10 minutes in advance to let them know that while I would not be there directly at 5 (my reservation time) I would be there by 5:02. They informed me that they were unable to help me anytime after 5. I asked if we could possibly start the process of checking out over the phone so that when I arrived I could streamline our process and be sure to have them out at the same time they would be if I arrived at 5. She again replied no because they can only help me if I arrive BEFORE 5, which again I asked about because my reservation was for 5. They then directed me to the airport which was 15 minutes further away. Needless to say, the customer service was incredibly poor, seeing as I was never even able to be served Very disappointed in the lack of effort or ability to be the slightest bit flexible read more

I came on a Saturday morning. I had just flown in on a 5am flight and I was exhausted. I showed up at 9:30 for a 10am reservation and I finally got to the counter at 10:15. They were overwhelmed by customers and only two people were working. I reserved a full size suv for a week and it was ready, clean, and full of gas. I knew I may not get back at 10am on the dot so I asked about after hours drop off and they showed me the box and said I could drop it off after hours, but never said they would charge me an extra 42 for being two hours late. I never received a email receipt which usually comes immediately following a vehicle check in so I called customer service and they shot me one to my email. I have never rented from this location, but I would use them in the future if the price is right. read more

LACK OF AGENTS ON A MONDAY MORNING! This is my go-to place for rentals. However, I have noticed that their service has gone south recently. There seems to be a constant turnover of staff, and more significantly, a lack of agents to man the stations in their peak times. Management does not seem to understand that early mornings, ESPECIALLY Monday mornings, are peak times for customers to come in an rent a car. I came in on June 17 to this location at 8 am (they supposedly open at 7:30 am but I dont think they did) and what is normally a 15 minute total transaction time turned into a 45-minute slog. There was only 1 register being manned, albeit by a newer agent. We were third in line. No until over half an hour later did another agent appear and we were served. They did not have a runner to get the cars. The car I got had to be washed first leading to more waiting. As a result of this unforeseen 45-minute wait, it messed up my wife and my daughter's dental appointments, messed up my son's transit commute time and messed up my morning work schedule. Needless to say, despite the agent's best efforts at trying to be cheery, I am sorely, angrily pissed. And don't even try to call for this branch to pick you up, as they will inevitably claim "no agents available" or "do you mind waiting 45 minutes?" Nope. They ought to do an Undercover Boss episode on this branch. Really annoyed at the quality of this service location. read more

I understand it COVID but that has absolutely nothing to do with the customer service people give. From the moment I spoke with the young lady on the phone she had a nasty attitude and she was extremely rude. To follow up My fiancé came up to the door before speaking to him she told him "7feet". Proceeding with tou do not have a reservation which he did. I called geico and they confirmed. To make a long story short learn how to be respectful. That's the first rule to having good customer service. Also after she barked 7ft she stood with several other people within 2 feet. I will never come back here to work with such an asshole. Super nice people- everyone I met at this location was really nice and friendly but I did wait over 1 hour for a car and then they gave me a HUGE ford excursion- if you don't know what that is it's bigger than a hummer and gets 15 mpg. It was actually so big that I was worried that I wouldn't be able to park it in my garage without crashing! The manager Patrick at this location is the reason for the one star. I would leave none if I could! So get this: A guy rear-ended me and his insurance company wanted me to get a rental from Hertz. I told them that I liked the Enterprise near me and I was going to rent from Enterprise. Fast forward to the day that I go to rent a vehicle. A guy named Gavin, who is, by-the-way ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, helped me to transfer a boat-load of items from my car to the rental. Because this car didn't have a trunk built in, we had to move everything back into my vehicle and he had to go pick up another and come back. Gavin assisted me in transferring everything into the new rental and off to Enterprise we go! I arrive, ready to sign the paperwork and go, when I was informed of additional costs to rent the vehicle despite it being for a liability collision on the other driver's insurance. I told the manager Patrick that I'd need to speak to the at-fault driver's insurance company before I paid any additional costs. Patrick got upset about me calling the at-fault driver's insurance company. When I returned almost an hour later, Patrick had increased the hold for the vehicle from $50 to $100! Another agent was closing me out when I realized the increase and I told him that Patrick had told me $50 for the hold on the vehicle. I got upset because I knew that Patrick had increased the hold. The agent didn't say anything and Patrick said, "I'll handle this." He came over and proceeded to lie and tell me that he never told me that the hold was $50. I told him that he was a liar and that he'd told me $50 at least 3 times before I'd left to call the at-fault driver's insurance. Patrick perched up at me like he was going to attack or something and I left, because I'd signed everything and was not going to engage this psychopath! I immediately went to Hertz and transferred my contract from Enterprise to Hertz! As long as Patrick is Manager at Enterprise, I won't be renting from them! Oh yeah, Enterprise tried to charge the at-fault driver's insurance company for one day after I transferred to Hertz...mind you, I had the vehicle in my possession for less than 15 minutes if you don't add the time it took to transfer the contract. I had to call the corporate office to get the charge reversed! BAD BUSINESS! read more

I have never received good service here. I mentioned the poor attitudes and poor service to the manager and he just made some poor excuse and blew it off. Then I got charged $323 on my card from some alleged ticket I was never informed of violating the essence of "due process." I would never use this office again or Enterprise because on top of all that they had no right to "save" my credit card number when I specified not to save! read more

I've rented from a number of Enterprise locations over the years. While the other major rental agencies are all pretty much the same, Enterprise really tries to be something different. Their franchises that are located away from airports, for instance. And, of course, they way they "pick you up." If I'm renting locally, I pretty much always use them, or ZipCar. This location is fantastic. Their staff really seems to care about the customer, the product, and the experience. I was in and out in literally 10 minutes. The clerk noticed little scratches on the bumper that I never would have seen, and dutifully wrote them down. I moved my stuff, dropped the key off at the convenient night box, and got a call the next day to tell me that everything was fine, and what my total would be. Really, this could not have been easier. This location is the closest one to where I live, so I suspect I'll be using them again quite soon. read more

Enterprise to the rescue! Moving is always a stressful time. During the week before my move from Alexandria to the Hampton Roads area, it seemed like my life was a ridiculous case of Murphy's Law. Everything was going wrong. My reserved UHaul was rerouted to Waldorf, Md. Then, less than an hour later, my backup plan (Enterprise) informed me that their lone cargo van's carburetor was busted. All of a sudden, I thought perhaps my move wasn't meant to be. The Enterprise representatives stayed two hours past office hours to find a cargo van for my move. Not only were they successful in securing a vehicle; they made sure to loan me the largest one they could track down in the D.C. metro area. I cannot say enough about the level of customer service they showed me during this time. I'm sad that I can't rent another car from them going forward since I moved away from their Alexandria branch. Wonderful people work at this place! It was very clear that the people who work here care to put their best efforts into helping their customers. In my recent rental experience, I dealt with three people, each of whom was extremely thoughtful and polite. They addressed every question I had and tended to my every need while managing a very busy office. It turns out that the reason they are so busy is because they are so good. On a busy day, they provided me with a great car and a great experience. After my three-day rental was up, I returned the car at the same time as several other people returned theirs. There was a rush among the customers to take advantage of the drop-off offer so generously provided by Enterprise. Many people needed rides, and I did not see how it was possible to get everyone where they needed to be in the time allotted. Somehow, the Richmond Highway Enterprise Crew managed it, and before any of us could get worried about missing our planes or trains, we were all where we needed to be! Special thanks to Sarah and the gentleman who handled my reservation. Extra Special Thanks to Janine, who drove me to my train afterward and made me feel even more at home with her polite and friendly manner. We had a great chat about baseball, and I thoroughly enjoyed it (she's a smart lady!). I have been a loyal customer of this location for over 10 years, renting multiple times per year. I have been disappointed time and time again. In the last 2 months alone, I have rented over 6 different times. The problem is that their "policy" as it pertains to debit cards is always changing. Yesterday I rented from them again and presented a debit card for payment. That's when they make you feel like a criminal. First of all the deposit for the car goes from $100 to $200. Why? The rep said that people with credit cards have obviously gone through a credit check and therefore don't need to put the additional $100 down. Then I was told that I needed to fax in a declaration page from my insurance company (which I have never had to do before in the last 10 years). Why? Because he said they needed to verify my address....... I have been at the same address for over 15 years AND they have had it on file for the 10 I have been renting (in addition to the fact that insurance is included in the cost of renting because of the business contract). Then I was told I needed to list 3 emergency contacts with phone numbers on a separate piece of paper, again something I have NEVER had to do. When I asked the rep if they could keep this information on file, so that I didn't have to do this again, he said "no" because they needed to send this paperwork to the auditors. So, every time I rent with a debit card I have to go through this again. I have used a debit card countless times in the past and have never had to do this. Needless to say, I have rented from other Enterprise locations AND used a debit card and have never had this problem before. Does this location treat me as a valued customer with over 10 years of loyalty, absolutely not. They treat me as if I have never rented there before and their "policies" continually change, just depends on who is working there. read more

I never thought I would write a positive review about a rental car company, since most of the time it's a completely frustrating experience from beginning to end. Consider my surprise when the staff was not only friendly and professional, but went out of their way to make my unpleasant experience of renting a car a good one. They worked with me on a weekly rate when my own car epairs were unreasonably delayed (thanks for nothing, Ourisman Jeep Chrysler), and checked in periodically to see if I needed to extend the rental. I've rented from this location a couple times before, and will do so again. Thanks for making the hassle of renting a car bearable! read more

Don't bother calling: the 703 number redirects your call to a very lengthy phone tree, all branches of which navigate straight to India. They can make a reservation, but require you to confirm locally the next day. The next day you call the 703 number again, get redirected to India again, ask for Richmond Highway location, repeat your entire conversation three times, get transferred to Duke St, where they are incapable of transferring you to Richmond Highway, call Alexandria (India) again, finally get transferred to Richmond Hwy, wait 20 minutes for someone to barely lift the phone off the receiver before setting it back down again (ie hangs up on you, because you - the customer - are apparently annoying them at their place of work), repeat the process, get a hold of them a second time, have them muster the courtesy to pick up the phone, just to have them confirm that you have no reservation, at which point you swear off cars forever, begin commuting by bike, switch ideologies and become a raging liberal that lobbies for a carbon tax on all individuals with no corporate tax exemptions, and a tiny herd of woodland animals with unusually large eyes begin following you around to bask in all your nature-saving glory. read more

I have rented from Enterprise at this location several times over the years and each time the staff has been very professional and polite. Rates for a cargo van are very reasonable and come in handy when needing to move furniture or pick up bulky items from a Home Depot or Lowes. I make my reservations online and everything is always in order and ready to go when I arrive. I have not used the pick up service but have never had to wait more than 5 minutes when needing to be dropped off after returning a rental. Easy parking, polite and professional staff...
