The process was quick and easy. $20 cash and we back our vehicle up near the propane truck. We were filled up and out of there in minutes. I loved there sign saying you can 'after hours' on the honor system, take a tank that has 5 gallons and return the next days to complete your transaction. How's that for customer service? 2026-31

Mind you, i had a 500 Gallon tank and my tank was at 35% and i did not call! Called up and got the run around. We made a verbal deal over the phone to come and empty and remove the tank and i would be given a refund for $150. Now, i know the 35% propane in my tank that i already bought previously was well worth more than $150 But i agreed and just wanted to get rid of reliable. Anyways, after removing my tank, and even my own personal hose from the line to the regulator i have yet to receive our agreed upon credit. After calling I was told that they had no recollection of our deal... Beware of shady business practices such as this from Reliable Propane. Purchased our own tank from Noco and received promt, honest service. Thanks Noco for listening to your customers. Looking for anyone dealing with Reliable. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere and do your own research.

He came out a few weeks ago to fix my basement toilet. He told me it was not up to code and he said that's why it wasn't working. He worked for about an hour and a half installing a vent for our pump toilet system. I never saw him do anything but install the vent. He never looked at the pump system at all. And obviously that was the problem. But he said it was fixed and I paid well over $600. Being a basement toilet, it wasn't used much, so several days later I discovered it still was not working. I called and they sent the same guy to fix it properly. He couldn't have complained more about actually having to finishing the job this time. He actually said to me, "are you on some kind of medication or something?" blaming me for the job he never fixed the first time. He said that I was to blame for the pipes being clogged. When I asked him, are you saying that I, using it at most three times since you were here, am responsible for clogging the pipes? He paused for about 5 seconds and then said "yes". I know he never really checked things properly the first time, because I was checking on what he was doing. I called and left a message with the owner and of course he couldn't bother to respond to me, a customer... and on top of all else, the plumber started raising his voice at me. He obviously was caught lying regarding even looking for any other reason than the vent issue as to why it wasn't working. When I spoke to the plumbing manager, he told me that they have been in business 100 years? How did that help me?? The guy that was in my house, should not be anywhere near the home owner. I did find someone that fixed it. Will never go near Ed Youngs again.

But this isn't actually about them , it's about my garbage totes and the Refuse Control Department. I've had a couple of things happen to my totes. The lid broke some how during one of their pickups. It was hanging by one hinge and was very heavy and unwieldy to try to put back on. I called the Department to ask to have the tote replaced. I was informed that it didn't need replacement they could just put a new cover on. Great I was happy with that news and went on with life as normal expecting to hear from them. Or thinking that like the meter readers , they would come and get the lid and exchange it. When it didn't get repaired for another couple of weeks , I contacted them and asked for an update. I was told " well you have to leave it out for us to fix!" Having had no idea how they handled, these things I had taken the tote back into my yard. The lid was replaced and life went on as usual. This time the bar that the machine on the truck uses to pick up the can broke in half. The can had been broken for several..... weeks. At one point the can, in fact after being emptied, was laying on the ground half on the street. Having tried to pick one of those up after a wind storm, I was truly not overjoyed at the prospect of trying to wrestle this thing back up onto its feet again! Time to call the department again to see if they could please replace it. I explained what the problem was and answered all the questions and was told to leave it out and they would be by to pick it up and replace it. Ok well I didn't forget from last time that they expected me to LEAVE IT OUT!!! They didn't say how long it would take so I left it out indefinitely. After several days , and accumulating garbage in my house, I called back and explained the situation, and was told ..... "You're only supposed to leave it out for the day not the week!" Feeling like I simply can't win , I said I had left it out for the "day" and ( frankly too afraid to bring it back in in case I created a problem again)it had never gotten picked up. There was a pause on the other end of the phone and then I heard " I don't see anything about a broken tote to be picked up here." Back to square one. Today I waited to see the fate of my garbage tote. I heard the garbage truck come. I heard the recycle truck come. I finally looked out to check and see and I'm very happy to say that this time the broken tote was gone and a replacement was in its place!! To the gentleman who never left the instructions that my tote was broken I say " why" and ask how is a customer follow instructions if they aren't given any specific instructions. To the second gentleman who followed through at the Town of Amherst Department of Refuse, I say Thank You ! This lady really appreciates not trying to wrestle the tote off the ground when it falls over off the lift!

My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. We decided to go with him for the new job and he completed it quickly, with quality products, and at a very reasonable rate. I would highly recommend using this company for any house related tasks including plumbing.
