I had that insurance for more then 5 years full coverage for my vehicle thought I was protected with them and in May 22 2024 some guy hit me when I was waiting in the red light rear ended me the insurance didn't pay me said I did fraud and till today they haven't paid me never in my life will I recommend them or have them as my insurance plus to expensive they don't pay you when you need there service. I had a Policy with them, that they autobilled for 5 years after I had called them telling them I sold the Vehicle, I got a bill in the mail as we had Credit card fraud, and called them, they told us, that the policy was still active and that technically they owed us a credit, but since I didn't have the Bill of Sale any longer ( submitted to the DMV as per state law ) that they couldn't give me a credit, but would cancel the policy, then they sent me to collections for the balance owed after the cancelation on a Vehicle we hadn't had in 5 years. I am Dale Funkhouser, I have a 2019 Airstream Nineteen on a 2018 Mercedes Sprinter chassis. I drove my vehicle into the Mercedes Dealership in October 2025 to have the windshield replaced. While it was in the shop they did a software update. When I drive it home the dash error lights were flashing, this was new. The next day I called Mercedes and complained and was told the upgraded software would not cause this and there must be another problem. The following day I went to start the RV to bring it back to the dealer and it would not start. I had it towed to the dealer. Upon inspection they found there was rodent damage to the wiring harness. I opened a claim with National General Insurance. We are currently 2 months into this, and they just denied the claim, stating that the damage must be "sudden and direct". This is ridiculous as rodent damage is never sudden and direct, and rodent damage is covered under comprehensive. My RV parking is next to my home, on a 20' x 40' covered cement parking area. There are no plants, bushes or dirt anywhere near the RV. This is way beyond reasonable. I don't know if it is because we are senior citizens and the claims department feels we can be bullied or fooled or if it is just a game to someone. My wife is disabled, and we use this vehicle to accommodate some of her disability needs. I want everyone to be aware that National General is not honorable and will use any excuse to avoid paying a claim. read more

This place is a complete scam don't know how they're in business place needs too investigated for fraud and scamming I canceled my policy with them a week and a half before the payment due date as I sold my car and they still charged my card on hold for 30 minutes was told I would get a refund. It's been a week later still have not received a refund about too report and file fraud claim as they also automatically renewed my policy without contacting me on a different car and every time I call, they just tell me it's been submitted and I will receive a refund in 1 to 3 days. I bought me a car a couple months ago and Ervey Gutierrez had left his writing pads with his info and I was told how he was getting people affordable insurance. I called and I was quoted a price $176 and some change. I was happy however the next month when I didn't get a bill I was concerned . This man had set up for me not to get a bill statement in the mail he also set up auto pay for my payments. He also was charging me over 237 and change for my insurance policy. I called and he said it was because I didn't submit paperwork which I did and then he said he could only reduce payment to 207.06 I'm so pissed because I can't trust him and I damn sure don't trust the insurance he provides. I pay two policies because I have another car so the quote was what I needed and was happy with so to be lied to and now having to pay over 200 dollars I'm so mad. I'm now gonna have to find another insurance company that I can trust because I sure don't trust this one. This was a very bad start and if they give a quote they need to honor that quote. I filed a claim with NG insurance after being rear ended by their insured. While the initial response was prompt and the repair was paid without problems they did not want to cover the rental car from the beginning. They wanted me to pay first and request reimbursement. After submitting the receipt for the car rental I did not hear from my adjuster despite emailing and calling him. After 5 weeks of no response I had to contact their supervisor who responded promptly and issues the reimbursement. I honestly DO NOT recommend this INS company they literally ripped me off, When I first got the policy was in 08/2025 they stated that the monthly payment on my car ins would -$128 starting every 8th of the month then for the month of 09/2025-I was charged $137.00 which I didn't think much of it due to it being a new policy.. so when I called on 10/09/2025 to make a payment, I was aware that I was late on my payment and therefor a $10.00 late fee would be applied so I did let the agent know I that I was charged $137 for the month of Sep, but was told my amount would be $128 and asked if there was a way for me to get credit from that month towards that late fee he was very "understanding"(and so I thought) he reviewed my policy and said it would be ok for him to credit me that and went ahead and processed my payment for $127.00 charged that same day 10/09/2025 I got a confirmation email by( National General Insurance) and the amount charged did reflect on my bank acc balance that but reflected on my statement by 10/14/2025. On 10/22/2025 I got a phone call by Blanca Lizbeth Preciado who came at me very Demanding and Dismissive of my concerns to what she was telling me! she stated she was calling to let me know my policy had been canceled due to none payment I told her what happed on 10/09/2025 and gave her the email confirmation number for my payment she demanded to obtain a copy of my bank statement to proof I wasn't lying but at this point I'm already feeling iffy because why should I provide with my personal bank statement when you have the confirmation number I was given from the company's email? I told her I would call back I wanted to speak to my bank first and she seemed bothered by my decision she even threated that I would have to start over again with the next rep who'd help me I told her it was fine and called my bank right away! my bank confirmed the payment was processed and were confused as to why I am being questioned if there is a confirmation email? My husband is pissed and after 2hrs of back and forth he said to just (mandarlos al over there lol) and go with a different Ins company he made a point of( why would you want to continue with a company who has horrible reviews and risk getting scammed again) I honestly think someone within National General Insurance is pocketing money so be careful peeps STAY AWAY FROM THIS INS COMPANY THEY WILL SCAM YOU!! Do not get auto insurance here ! I was in an accident and dealing with them was a nightmare. Their adjuster, Anthony Enriquez, never returned any of my phone calls for nearly a month. After the accident, I called them immediately to file a claim and they transferred me to the tow company since the car was in the middle of an intersection and not drivable. The tow place then told me that they couldn't help me because my policy # wasn't in their system..then I asked about being put in a rental car and was informed that even though I had full coverage, it didn't cover towing or rental car ! I have been paying $370!a month ! For what ??? But here comes the worst part. A Supervisor called me and told me the car was totaled and I should start looking for another vehicle. So I took out a loan on my 401k and a week later, someone called me from The General and told me that the car wasn't totalled and they needed my permission to get it into the shop for repairs !! They also told me that the shop had done a "total tear down" of the car to determine that it was not totalled. So I gave permission for it to be taken to Gerber Collision for repairs. I was happy that I would get the car back. Now here comes the icing on the cake....3 days later, A Supervisor from The General called me to say the car was totaled!! Like ...what in the hell ? And to top it all off, I have had to pay $370 a month for the last 3 months that I haven't even had the car or they will report it to my credit !!! This place is an entire scam. I missed so much work because of having no car and guess what ?! My full coverage doesn't cover lost wages either! I am a delivery driver so no car..no work. I ended up losing my job because of this companys b.s... I would never recommend anyone go here. It was the worst experience I have ever had. By far. They have no idea what they're doing. Oh and by the way...the accident happened after dark and because of no towing, myself and a man who happened to live near where the accident occurred had to push my car out of the busy intersection and to the side of his house where it sat for 8 days until these scabs finally towed it !! National general car insurance is absolutely horrible! My husband was hit by another driver (same insurance) who ran a red light at approximately 60 mph never hit the breaks. My husband was injured and immediately taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. He had to be removed from the vehicle. There was a police report and two witnesses to the accident. They gave a statement that the other driver ran the red light. National General was very hard to deal with the customer. Service was absolutely horrible! Our vehicle was towed to an impound place and they told me that I would have to pay for that. I didn't pay for it. They would not help us to get a rental we live out in a rural area. It took them almost 2 weeks to pick up the car another two weeks to have somebody go look at it. So approximately about a month before they totaled the vehicle. I needed a vehicle so we had to buy a new car four days after the crash. My car was only two years old. They just didn't really want to help us. Customer service is basically nonexistent. When I bought my new car, I called them to add my new car to the insurance and to remove the car that was totaled. I asked what the difference would be in the price. What would I be paying as a monthly fee and the guy couldn't figure it out at one point he quoted me double the price I had been paying I said how can it be double? He says well I'm not sure and he just kept playing around and throwing numbers out there so I said well I guess I'll just see when it's taken since I have automatic payments set up left it at that. This was in April. So today, June 20 I went on my online banking looking for something and I noticed they haven't taken out my insurance payment. What the heck? I went back to May. They didn't take that one either so I called them. They told me that my insurance had been canceled on April 30th! I spoke to them on April 25th that is when I added my new car. My insurance would have been due on May 7th. I asked why was my insurance canceled? I was told that the person I spoke with when I added my new car had written down that I didn't want automatic payments any longer! Wtf I never said that! So they canceled me for nonpayment. I've been driving around for two months without any insurance on my brand new car! not a letter not an email not a phone call nothing. Thank goodness I accidentally finally found that this had happened. They told me to get it back reinstated I would have to pay nearly $900. I told him never mind. I will find a new insurance.. I don't know what the real story is here because we are suing the other driver and insurance company. I have 3 policy with this company when I only had to pay $98 for the first policy. The second one I told the Lady Blesila DeGuzman. I have car insurance with National General. I want a different company they keep changing me like $50 more for my monthly. Even when you pay a few days late it a $10 late fee. Acceptance insurance is and other company they work BS. It's one Big same people different name. Both companies. The agent who sold the 2nd policy. BLESILA DEGUZMAN told me it was Freeway insurance I only received 1 thing by text from her personal cellphone. It should have been a company phone. 1 text with 1 thing to sign. That was Freeway insurance.. I wasn't supposed to pay nothing until October. NATIONAL GENERAL TOOK OUT $186 + $100 & ACCEPTANCE INSURANCE $443. They 1st took out $200 10 days later $243 . Called tried talking to a manager never can. They will call you back in 72 hours. BS nobody never called back. When you try to tell them they're workers should have never been using their personal phone. She should have been using a company phone. Because you guys record conversations so stuff like this doesn't happen. Add like I'm down. They say well. You sign the papers. No I just signed one I said freeway insurance. Download the time when you sign insurance. Multiple spots that are orange. Someone's just one paper or 1 text message . No more than that, try to tell him.
